Keylor Navas to join Pumas after a brief stint in Argentina with Newell's Old Boys
The 38-year-old Navas signed a two-year deal last January with Newell's Old Boys, but he received an offer from Pumas two weeks ago.
The Argentinian club on Monday said it will receive $2 million as part of the transfer deal. Pumas is yet to make an official announcement.
Navas missed the first two league matches in Argentina, the first due to sickness sickness and the second because he asked to be left on the bench.
'Commitment, professionalism, and respect for the club's values are non-negotiable,' Newell's Old Boys said. 'To achieve our goals, it is essential that each member pulls in the same direction, always prioritizing the team over the individual.'
Newell's, Lionel Messi's boyhood club, is based in Rosario, 300 kilometers (186 miles) northeast of Buenos Aires.
Navas signed with Newell's Old Boys after finishing his second spell with Paris Saint-Germain, where he made just six appearances in all competitions.
In a previous stint at PSG, he played four seasons and helped the club secure two French league titles.
Navas made his professional debut with Saprissa in Costa Rica in 2005 and began his European career four years later with Albacete. He then moved to Levante and signed with Real Madrid for the 2014-15 season.
With Real Madrid, Navas won a league title and a Super Cup, as well as three Champions League titles.

Tempers flare as Baltimore Ravens practice with Indianapolis Colts
Baltimore Ravens second-year cornerback Nate Wiggins was thrown out of their joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, after coming from the sidelines and throwing punches at the Under Armour Performance Center. The Colts return to Owings Mills, Maryland, more than 41 years after the franchise moved to Indianapolis, was disrupted briefly by a skirmish among the teams. "Nobody wants to fight," said Ravens running back Derrick Henry. "Things get chippy, [and] guys talk. That stuff happens all the time. We know we've all got each other's backs. It's just competing. Sometimes it gets the best of us, but we know it's all fun and games at the end of the day; we all just want to get better." The altercation started during a punt return drill when Colts running back Tyler Goodson was shoved late by Ravens cornerback Keyon Martin. Goodson shoved back before Wiggins rushed in from the sidelines and threw several punches. "It's always special teams," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "I always happened in these practices on special teams, and usually it's the gunners. You can chalk it up that it is going to happen because it is one of those full-field, really competitive drills." Fights have become a part of joint practices, based on the competitive nature. The players are finally going up against different opponents, and they are battling for jobs. "You can't get out of a joint practice without a fight," said Colts safety Camryn Bynum. "Obviously, it's going to get chippy, especially during the special teams phase. That's a staple in joint practices." The Ravens were involved in a joint practice skirmish with the Washington Commanders in 2023. In 2018, the Ravens and Colts were involved in a scrum during a joint practice. As many of the players for both teams congregated near the fight on Tuesday, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said he was just minding his business. "I'm chilling," Jackson said. "I know the cameras (are) on all of us, so I can't really do too much. But I feel like our guys handled their own." Ravens' Nnamdi Madubuike said he was far away from the fight. "I didn't see exactly what happened," Madubuike said. "I heard Nate (Wiggins) was slugging somebody or something. I don't know, but it was crazy." Former Maryland Terrapin safety Nick Cross is back in Maryland with the Colts. He was second on the Colts with 146 tackles in 2024. He also had a sack, six tackles for loss, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. The Colts' defense ended the joint practice with two interceptions. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was back at practice after missing Monday with an excused absence. Jackson said joint practices are like preseason games for him because he hasn't played in the preseason in years. "Because we don't see these guys every day, we get to see different looks from different guys, different types of coverages, see how different guys guard different people, different blitzes, and stuff like that," Jackson said. "So, definitely, we get a lot out of these types of joint practices." In 2024, Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, passed for 4,172 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 915 yards. The Baltimore Ravens will play the Indianapolis Colts at 7 p.m. on Thursday at M&T Bank Stadium in the first preseason game. Head coach John Harbaugh has already announced that his starters will not play. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Anthony Richardson will start at quarterback over Daniel Jones. The Ravens follow with two road preseason games, in Dallas on August 16, and at Washington on August 23.

Jerry Jones not confident Micah Parsons will be on the field Week 1 for Cowboys
OXNARD, Calif. — Micah Parsons attended the Dallas Cowboys' practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday. He watched from the sideline. At one point he was within a few yards of Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. But the two did not talk. According to Jones, the two have not talked since Parsons requested a trade last Friday. Advertisement 'I think the world of Micah,' Jones said after Tuesday's practice. 'He's one of the brightest people I've ever been around. He's very, very talented. Now, how we ultimately meld him in with our future is a challenge. I'm built for it and he's built for it.' Jones said there have been no recent contract negotiations with Parsons' representatives. Surprisingly, Jones also said he is not confident that Parsons will be on the field for the team's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4. 'No, absolutely not,' Jones said. He's back: Wide receiver Keenan Allen agrees to deal with Chargers
The Chargers are reuniting with a former franchise star to bolster their receivers unit. Keenan Allen, who racked up more than 10,000 receiving yards during an 11-season stint with the Chargers before being traded away in a salary-cap move, agreed to a deal with the team Tuesday. The one-year deal is worth $8.52 million, according to NFL Media. Allen spent last season in Chicago after the Chargers traded their then-longest tenured player to the Bears in an attempt to become salary-cap compliant after the start of free agency. He caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in the Caleb Williams-led offense but was not re-signed by Chicago. Allen, second only to Hall of Famer Antonio Gates atop the Chargers' all-time receiving yards list, joins a pass-catching corps led by second-year standout Ladd McConkey and former first-round pick Quentin Johnston, who had a promising sophomore season in 2024 after struggling as a rookie. Playing alongside quarterback Justin Herbert for four seasons, Allen caught 380 passes for 4,125 yards and 25 touchdowns. This is a developing story.
