Vijay Kumar scouts for love stories on Namma Metro
Vijay Kumar
is mixing work with a little people-watching. The City Lights director — whose upcoming film stars daughter Monisha Vijay and Vinay Rajkumar — was recently seen riding the
Bengaluru Metro
from South Bengaluru to Ulsoor.
His mission? To catch the subtle sparks of modern romance in motion. 'The Bengaluru metro sees many love stories unravelling every day, which is why I've included episodes of life on the Bengaluru Metro in my next directorial,' Vijay shared, explaining why he's woven them into his next script.
'During my ride, I saw many youngsters around me. I was happy I had included this segment in my script — it felt authentic.' But the filmmaker also had a gentle request: Keep the romance respectful. 'The beauty of love lies in simple gestures — holding hands, a quiet look, a warm smile. Let's not make fellow commuters, especially senior citizens, uncomfortable,' he said.

This metro, which will connect the RV Road to Bommasandra, is intended to transform the way commuters travel in the IT hub of India. As regular operations on this line have finally begun, the one thing that grabbed everyone's attention was its creatively designed crossover with the Green Line Metro. Now, a couple of days after the train started its journey on the new line, stunning footage of the Bengaluru Metro's Yellow and Green lines crossing tracks has taken the internet by storm, providing a rare glimpse of four trains travelling simultaneously in the same frame. The video shared on X, features a top-angle shot, captured via drone near RV Road. It features two Yellow Line trains and two Green Line trains passing by each other at the RV Road interchange station, a junction where the newly opened Yellow Line meets the Green Line. Sharing the video, the user wrote in the caption, 'Waited forever for this perfect shot – Yellow and Green Lines all in one frame." How Did Social Media React? As soon as the user dropped the stunning visuals, it had grabbed the audience's attention, with several of them lauding its timing, aesthetic appeal and nostalgia. An X user commented, 'Amazing shot." Another one wrote, 'Stunning capture." One of them shared, 'Wow! This looks unreal! Sooperaagide!" A person wrote, 'Terrific shot." Well done, treat to see Bangalore through your lens!," a person wrote. Another one shared, 'Worth the wait! One of the best shots I've seen. The timing is perfect!" However, the clip also raised questions, emphasising the 25-minute interval of the yellow line metro. A person asked, 'Looks animated. With 25-minute intervals, how is this possible? Has BMRCL validated this?" Since its posting, the video has gone viral, with users praising its timing, aesthetic appeal, and nostalgia. How did X users react? One user wrote, 'Wow! This looks unreal.' Another reminisced, 'RV Road was originally called AC Road. It was one of the most beautiful stretches in Bengaluru two decades ago with massive trees and parks. It's less now, but still lovely.' However, the video also drew skepticism. One user questioned the realism, asking, 'Looks animated. With 25-minute intervals, how is this possible? Has BMRCL validated this?' Responding to the doubts, an account named Grok clarified: 'It's real, captured by a certified drone pilot in Bengaluru. The video shows Yellow and Green line trains aligning in frame near RV Road interchange. With Yellow's 25-minute frequency and Green's ~5–10 minutes, such a shot is possible by waiting for schedules to sync. No AI artifacts detected.' Bengaluru's newest metro corridor The viral moment follows the recent inauguration of the Yellow Line by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. The 19.15-km line runs between R.V. Road and Bommasandra, passing through bustling IT and industrial corridors like Electronic City and Bommanahalli.
