Flick reveals Lewandowski ‘better than expected' ahead of Inter-Barcelona
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed that Robert Lewandowski 'might be back' in time to face Inter in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night, and that the Poland international has progressed 'better than we expected' in his injury rehab.
Inter and Barca are level at 3-3 at the midway stage of their Champions League semi-final tie after goals from Marcus Thuram, Denzel Dumfries, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and an own goal by Yann Sommer forced by Raphinha.
Barcelona prepare to welcome back Lewandowski for Inter
Despite their attacking excellence on the night, Barcelona were without leading goalscorer Lewandowski, who has been out with a muscular injury since mid-April. It was Ferran Torres who deputised up front during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Brighton signs teenage forward Kostoulas from Champions League-bound Olympiakos
LONDON (AP) — Brighton has signed teenage forward Charalampos Kostoulas, who gave up a Champions League season with Olympiakos to play in the Premier League. The 18-year-old Kostoulas signed a five-year contract, Brighton said, with the transfer fee reportedly set at an initial 35 million euros ($40.4 million). 'It is a dream for everybody to come here and play football,' the Greece Under-21 striker said in an interview published Friday by Brighton. He scored seven goals in 22 games in the Greek league as Olympiakos won a record-extending 48th title and completed a trophy double in the domestic cup. Olympiakos was elevated directly into the lucrative Champions League opening phase — because title-holder Paris Saint-Germain already secured a place by winning the French league — and will play eight games in the single-standings league. Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League and did not qualify for European soccer. Kostoulas was the central striker in Olympiakos' Under-19 team that won the 2024 UEFA Youth League, one month before the senior team won the Conference League. ___ AP soccer:

Bayer Headaches It's an early headache in the transfer window for B04 and new head coach Erik ten Hag. The plan this summer was to keep Czech international Patrik Schick, offload Boniface, and bring in a new backup forward. The forward's agent, Emefie Aneke Atta, has explained to Bild the Nigerian's situation and stance: 'Victor has ended the season after his trip to the national team. He's on vacation now, will train hard during his vacation, and then return for preseason. There's a new coach, a new setup, but still a very good team that's back in the Champions League. Victor and I have never discussed a transfer.' Internal talks will now take place as to what the club should do next. What's more, expect ten Hag to have a big say on how this plays out. The Backup Striker in Question Should Boniface leave B04 this summer, the club have their eyes set on Christian Kofane from Albacete Balompié in Spain's second tier. The 18-year-old Cameroonian would cost Leverkusen just €5m, having scored 8 goals in 20 appearances last campaign. Advertisement However, with Boniface's stance, all this now hangs in the balance.
