ESPN lists Rockets first among potential Kevin Durant trade suitors with Suns

ESPN insider Shams Charania is listing the Houston Rockets first among a group of five NBA trade suitors for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.
In order, the list consists of the Rockets, the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks.

From Charania's reporting:
Suns officials and Durant's business partner, Boardroom CEO Rich Kleiman, will continue to meet on trade conversations — with talks expected to escalate before the NBA draft later this month.
Durant was nearly traded to the Golden State Warriors at the February 2025 trade deadline before he made it clear that he was not interested in a reunion and preferred to finish the season with the Suns. At the time, sources told ESPN that Durant was blindsided by the Suns including him in any trade conversations. This time around, the sides are expected to work together on his next home.
Durant is slated to make $54.7 million next season, so the Rockets would have to send out close to that amount in salary in order for a trade to work, financially.
The Athletic's Kelly Iko and Sam Amick previously reported that Durant is very interested in playing for the Rockets. Houston does have a significant amount of future draft capital from Phoenix that could be of interest to the Suns in a trade, but it remains unclear how much (if any) that the Rockets would give up in a deal for Durant — who turns 37 years old later this year.
A 6-foot-11 forward, Durant averaged 26.6 points (52.7% FG, 43.0% on 3-pointers), 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 62 games last season. In February, the former Most Valuable Player (MVP) earned his 15th career All-Star selection.

Should the Nets pursue Bulls' Josh Giddey in 2025 NBA free-agency?

The Brooklyn Nets have plenty of cap space to use in the 2025 NBA offseason and that will be the case even if they decide to retain some of their more important free-agents. Brooklyn would like to improve on a roster that went 26-56 during the 2024-25 season and with that being said, it's fair to wonder if they would pursue a player whose stock rose significantly. Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey will be a restricted free-agent this summer after spending the season with the Bulls following being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder last offseason. Giddey, 22, seemed to raise his stock significantly after averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37.8% from three-point land. Advertisement One of the ways that the Nets can explore using their cap space, as noted by ESPN's Bobby Marks, is by using their money to go after restricted free-agents, such as Giddey, given that most marquee unrestricted free-agents are rarely let go by their incumbent teams without a trade. Given where Chicago is in the context of the league, they finished the season with a 39-43 record, they may be willing to let someone like Giddey walk if the price to keep him is too steep. HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported in May that "the belief around the league is Bulls restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey hopes to command a similar five-year, $150 million deal to Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs and earn roughly $30 million annually or more." While paying Giddey $30 million per season would be a big investment for Brooklyn so early in the rebuild, it's important to note that figure may be the going rate for someone of his caliber. NBA insider Jake Fischer reported last week that Giddey is expected to remain with the Bulls due to the season that he had for Chicago along with the fact that the team might be trying to retool around Giddey after trading away DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine over the course of the campaign. Time will tell what the Bulls do in free-agency, but if they're willing to let Giddey walk, Brooklyn could have their point guard of the future. NBA star Kevin Durant's custom Oklahoma City townhome hits the market — starting at $35

NBA star Kevin Durant's custom Oklahoma City townhome hits the market — starting at $35 Show Caption Hide Caption Which NBA stars do we expect to see in the 2028 Olympics? LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant led Team USA to another gold at the Paris Olympics, and it's a good thing because the team will look VERY different in 2028. But which stars can we expect to see back? An Oklahoma City townhome formerly owned by NBA star Kevin Durant is on the market once more, but the price will surprise you. This three-story, custom townhome in the historic Deep Deuce neighborhood was designed by Durant during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder has been listed on Redfin with a starting price of only $35. Yes, you read that right. Ieasha Larkpor, managing broker for Thunder Team Realty, said the current homeowners didn't want to put an asking price on the home — instead, they want interested buyers to get with their real estate agent and prepare their own offer for the home. Pre-approved buyers can schedule a tour of the home, and an open house will be held every Sunday each week until it sells, Larkpor said. Here's what to know about the home. Famous real estate: 40 celebrities and athletes who call this Florida county home Former home of Kevin Durant for sale Inside the nearly 4,000 square-foot home, you'll find a basement-level two-car garage with a private elevator that goes to all three floors of the townhome. The home has two kitchens, four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Durant purchased the home in 2013 and converted it and the neighboring townhome into a single home. The homes have since been separated and sold separately, with a kitchen being added back into the 420 townhome along with other modifications required after Durant's renovations.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finally plays like NBA's MVP at perfect time for Thunder

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hadn't had an MVP moment in these NBA Finals, hadn't grabbed hold of a game and seized it in winning time. That changed Friday night, when the Pacers had Game 4 in their hands and he ripped it away — along with home-court advantage in these NBA Finals — thanks to one of the best endgame performances in the last half-century. Advertisement With Oklahoma City trailing by four with 2:59 left, Gilgeous-Alexander had 11 of his 35 points down the stretch. It's the most in the last three minutes of a Finals tilt in 50 years and carried the Thunder to a 111-104, come-from-behind victory in a game they absolutely had to have. 'We knew it when we woke up this morning; 3-1 is a lot different than 2-2 going back home. We played with desperation to end the game, and that's why we won,' Gilgeous-Alexander said in a postgame TV interview. 'We got to try to maintain the same desperation going into Game 5, Game 6, whatever it may be.'
