Lamar Odom ordered to vacate LA mansion over unpaid rent
Former NBA star Lamar Odom, 45, has been ordered to vacate a Los Angeles rental property after being sued for allegedly failing to pay $45,000 in rent. The landlord, Executive Recovery Group, Inc., filed the lawsuit on March 20, claiming Odom entered into an oral month-to-month lease agreement in December 2024 for a Studio City mansion at a monthly rate of $15,000.
According to court documents obtained by The Post, Odom missed rent payments for January, February, and March 2025. A three-day notice to pay or vacate the premises was posted on March 11, warning that failure to comply would result in the termination of his lease. The landlord followed up by mailing a copy of the notice and, on March 17, formally ended the agreement through what's known as an 'election of forfeiture,' effectively revoking Odom's right to stay at the property.
After Odom failed to respond to the lawsuit, the court ruled in favor of Executive Recovery Group, Inc. on April 28, granting them possession of the home and ordering Odom to leave. In addition to seeking unpaid rent, the sublessor also requested attorney fees and damages.
This latest legal development adds to a difficult chapter in Odom's life. The former Lakers forward, previously married to Khloé Kardashian, suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2015, leading to 12 strokes and six heart attacks while in a coma. Though Kardashian paused their divorce during his recovery, it was finalized in 2016. Since then, Odom has spoken publicly about his experience and launched the Odom Wellness Treatment Centers to support others facing addiction.
The property in question has also been previously leased by the late rapper Mac Miller, who filmed his MTV series there before his death in 2018.

Former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree assault in a 2023 shooting incident outside Tacoma Mall, Washington, avoiding trial as part of a plea agreement.
