The initiative seeks to enable persons with disabilities to become active contributors to society and the economy, particularly in developing countries. This support falls under Imkan by Iskan, the bank's corporate social responsibility program, making Housing Bank one of the first institutions to translate national directives and summit commitments into tangible action. This training reflects Housing Bank's ongoing commitment to the Central Bank of Jordan's directives on enhancing financial inclusion and ensuring services meet the diverse needs of persons with disabilities beyond basic banking, fostering social and economic empowerment. Through Imkan by Iskan, the bank is dedicated to breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, and improving quality of life for all, with a focus on equity and participation in everyday activities and the local economy. Over a 10-day period, participants received both practical and theoretical training covering key entrepreneurial topics such as business planning, access to financing mechanisms, and feasibility studies. The initiative helped equip them with essential skills and tools to pursue entrepreneurship and integrate more effectively into the labor market. It is worth noting that the Business Development Center is a leading Jordanian non-profit. It designs and implements development programs aimed at creating job opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, promoting self-employment, and enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises across the Kingdom.

'Electricity' Launches Program to Settle Accumulated Bills for Residential Customers - Jordan News

Amman – The Electricity Distribution Company announced the launch of a simplified program to settle outstanding amounts ('accumulated bills') for its subscribers, enabling residential customers only to avoid electricity disconnection, in accordance with the instructions of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission. اضافة اعلان The company invited all subscribers within its service areas in Karak, Tafila, Ma'an, Aqaba, and the Jordan Valley and Eastern regions, whose unpaid previous bills exceed JD 300, to take advantage of the new exceptional facilities to settle their financial obligations. The company emphasized in a statement on Wednesday that any subscriber who fails to pay two consecutive bills totaling more than JD 75 is subject to actions including electricity disconnection, noting that the program provides an opportunity to settle these obligations flexibly. The installment plan allows subscribers to spread payments over up to 15 months, with an initial down payment of 15% of the total outstanding previous bills, provided that the settlement is completed during the first phase of the program, from August 23 to 31. The company added that the value of the initial payment gradually increases over time, while the available installment period decreases for subscribers wishing to benefit from the program, according to the announced schedule. Regarding the installment program: Phase 1: May bills – 15% down payment from August 21–31, with installments over 15 months. Phase 2: May bills – 20% down payment from September 1–10, with installments over 12 months. Phase 3: May bills – 25% down payment from September 10–20, with installments over 10 months. Phase 4: Outstanding bills – 35% down payment after September 20, with installments over 6 months only.
