Josie Gibson's major new role at ITV as This Morning presenter takes on personal project
This Morning's Josie Gibson is set to transform her Somerset abode into the "dream home" she's always envisioned in an upcoming ITV series.
The 40 year old television personality, who rose to fame after clinching victory on Big Brother in 2010, has since presented a variety of shows including Channel 5's Around The World In First Class and Channel 4's Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide With Josie Gibson.
In addition to finishing fourth in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, Gibson has become a familiar face on This Morning and is gearing up to cover for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during their summer hiatus.
Hailing from Bristol, the TV favourite is embarking on a project to revamp her Somerset residence with an emphasis on sustainable living. Her plans include installing a subterranean heat pump, cultivating her own produce, and establishing beehives on the property.
Josie expressed her aspirations: "My dream is to build a house as eco and luxurious as possible, where you are immersed in the sanctuary of nature."
She further elaborated on her vision: "I want to use the acres of land to try my best to have a little small holding. I want bees, birds, badgers to all live in harmony."
However, she also voiced concerns about the project: "Though I'm becoming increasingly concerned that my harmonious dream is slowly turning into a construction nightmare. I can't wait to bring the audience along on this journey with me."
Gibson won't be tackling the renovation solo; she'll be drawing on the expertise of her brothers, Josh and Charlie, who are scrap metal traders, and her cousin Tom.
Together, they aim to construct a haven complete with an on-site gym, a walk-in wardrobe, and tinted windows.
The seven-part series, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, is set to air across ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player in 2026.
Katie Rawcliffe, Director of entertainment and daytime for ITV, commented: "She's done a stint in the jungle and tackled all manner of outlandish tasks on This Morning, but our audiences are about to see a completely new side to Josie Gibson as she embraces country life and takes sustainable living to a whole new level."
In a recent interview, Josie opened up about the challenges of juggling motherhood with her career.
She said: "I often suffer from mum guilt. I beat myself up that I'm not with Reggie all the time because you never get that time back with your kid."
Despite the tough choices she faced while forging her path in television, Josie now enjoys a more harmonious work-life balance.
Reflecting on her journey, she revealed: "There was a point where I worked a lot - far too much - but I needed to get where I wanted to be, and I sacrificed time with him and that was really sad. These days, I have much more of a balance."

ITV drama to be hit with parent lock and 'trigger warning' over 'satanic' scenes
Inspector Morse is reported to have been handed a "trigger warning" on some episodes on its streaming platform ITVX ITV 's beloved Inspector Morse is set to include a new "trigger warning" on some of its episodes, causing quite a stir among fans online, with some labelling the move as "woke". The popular crime series will reportedly now feature a pre-warning before streaming on ITV's online platform, ITVX. One episode in question, titled Day of the Devil, will even come with a parental lock due to its potentially distressing content, including "satanic images". The broadcasting network has reportedly extended its warning to other past episodes, particularly those featuring crime and violence. The show, which aired for an impressive 13 years and spans eight series, remains a hit to this day. With streaming now popular across all age groups, it's crucial for internet giants to take necessary precautions. The contentious episode follows Inspector Morse, portrayed by John Thaw, and his reliable sidekick detective sergeant Robbie Lewis, played by Kevin Whately, as they track down a devil-worshipping cult involved in a serious rape offence, reports the Express. One particularly chilling scene depicts a Satanist being burned to death during a black mass. Senior MP Sir Alec Shelbrooke expressed his outrage about the alleged update to The Sun, warning that "Britain would soon be laughed at," for appearing overly sensitive. He declared: "This is another example of soft-touch Britain seeping into everything. We're just going to be laughed at as a country if things like this continue, because nobody's prepared for the real world." The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment. Previous alerts have formerly broadcast warnings over "programming that contains politically sensitive or distressing themes, content, or language has carried appropriate warnings since our launch". In more recent developments, Netflix found itself at the heart of controversy over a sequence that reportedly left "many millions of women hot under the collar". A moment from Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice, featuring Colin Firth as Mr Darcy emerging from lake waters back in 1995, has now been removed. It's understood the romantic drama's famous sequence was axed to prevent any "objectifying men" accusations being levelled at the streaming giant. According to The Sun, Netflix "did not want a repeat" of Poldark where Aidan Turner's shirtless scene sparked considerable controversy. A source revealed to the publication: "It is also credited for sparking subsequent moments of male objectification on screen - like Aidan Turner's famous topless scything scene in Poldark."

Value Scope: Each way horseracing tips from Steve Jones for Tuesday at Glorious Goodwood
Our man hopes to maintain a fine run of form as he begin the first of five columns on Glorious Goodwood with four recomendations from the ITV card Take a Composer to call the tune in the Coral Golden Rewards Shaker Handicap. DREAM COMPOSER (3.45) has a decent record at Goodwood. He's only been out of the frame once in seven starts over today's course and distance, with one of those efforts resulting in victory. That win came more than two years ago but he was successful twice last summer, including defeat of subsequent Group 1 scorer American Affair at Pontefract. It's probably unwise to take that form too literally but it does show the sort level he is capable of operating at on his day. He had excuses for his below-par runs earlier in the season and his second to progressive three-year-old Dan Tucker at Pontefract last month was a big step in the right direction. The likely strong pace at a course he clearly likes should play to his strengths. Have 2pts each-way at 20-1. A few bookies are paying out on six places. Mark Johnston used to dominate the handicaps at this meeting and his son Charlie has a decent chance in the Ridgeway Fillies' Handicap. His BLESSED STAR (4.55) returns to handicaps after finishing runner-up in four novice starts. Her second behind smart prospect Wujjood at Pontefract last month was a solid comeback run and that effort should help put the edge on her for today's race. Don't miss a FREE £2 William Hill shop bet inside your Mirror every day of Glorious Goodwood Festival Pick up your Mirror every day of the Goodwood festival to get your hands on 12 page pullouts packed with insight from the punters you trust, plus FREE William Hill shop bets every day of the festival from Tuesday July 29 until Saturday August 2, 2025. Find out more here. This race has been dominated by three-year-olds in recent years and this lightly-weighted filly could well continue that trend. Have 1pt each-way at 12-1. Most firms are offering four places. There looks sure to be a strong pace in the final race on day one and that will suit LADY OF ANDROS (5.30). She was unlucky not to beat Easy Peeler in a decent fillies' handicap at York last month when the race set up for her hold up style of racing. Her third at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago was further proof that she is nicely handicapped and she should take advantage with the prospect of this race dropping perfectly for her. Have 1pt each-way at 11-1. Sky Bet is going five places. ALYANAABI (2.30) is worth chancing in the Group 2 HKJC World Pool Lennox Stakes. He's got the ability to land a race like this and he will appreciate the return to 7f after struggling to make an impact over 6f at Newcastle last month. Have 1pt each-way at 25-1. A few firms are offering four places.
