The first American Pope could be the first to embrace wireless tech as he sports an Apple Watch
Pope Leo XIV might have recently shown off a fondness for wearing high-tech devices, as many noticed that His Holiness was wearing an Apple Watch during his first official Holy Mass. On the other hand, considering that the new Pope is 69, it wouldn't be that radical to suggest that he is wearing the device to keep tabs on his heart rate. The timepiece can also send out an alert if the user sets off the fall detection sensor by taking a pretty rough tumble onto the floor.
Additionally, many older men near 70 who otherwise don't own any modern high-tech devices, have been gifted an Apple Watch by concerned relatives worried about the elderly falling or having a cardiac issue. It is possible that the Pontiff has relatives concerned about his health, and they purchased an Apple Watch for him. On the other hand, if the Pope did buy the Apple Watch for himself, it would stand to reason that he also owns an iPhone. That's because an Apple Watch owner needs to connect to an iPhone for the initial setup of the timepiece, sync data, and pair the watch with a specific iPhone unit.

Another possibility is that Pope Leo XIV is a watch buff. Nick Gould, who calls himself "an expert Watch spotter," noticed that "During his first Holy Mass, Pope Leo XIV sported an Apple Watch, which he had worn previously before being elected a Cardinal." The Pope was also spotted wearing other watches as well. During his first public appearance as Pope, a bit of red came from the Pope's left sleeve leading some to believe it was a red bezel belonging to a Rolex GMT-Master II.

Others think the red bezel belongs to the Wenger Swiss Military 7223X now named the "Cardinal Red." When word got out that the 7223X could be the timepiece that the Pope has under his sleeve, the timepiece sold out. But the Apple Watch has been on the Pope's wrist for a long time, even predating his time as a Cardinal. Other watches worn by past Popes have been as low end as Pope Francis' black plastic Swatch valued at £50 ($66.52).
Will Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope, also be the first Pope to embrace tech? There are plenty of 69-year-olds who can easily navigate their way around a smartphone and smartwatch and it will be interesting to see how he incorporates wireless and wearable tech with his job.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will announce some new features for the AirPods during next Monday's Keynote on the first day of WWDC. Apple is reportedly working on some new head gestures following through on the ones it added to the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. Another new AirPods feature Apple is reportedly working on is one that will detect when a user is sleeping and will automatically halt playback if that is the case. Apple could have this feature work with the sleep detection capabilities of the Apple Watch. AirPods camera control is supposedly coming. A click on the AirPods stem will allow the user to snap a picture using an iPhone or an iPad camera. Apple is also looking to improve the way AirPods pair with shared iPads. This would impact students in classrooms where multiple users often share iPads. Apple hopes to make it easier to pair AirPods with its tablets. Also believed to be under development is a microphone mode for AirPods which could drive sales of the wearables to content creators looking for a high-quality "studio microphone." Apple could make the "studio microphone" part of the "Audio Mix" feature on the iPhone 16 that improves the audio recorded on videos you've taken. This feature uses machine learning to figure out what is background noise so it can be separated from the user's voice and improved. The report notes that Apple could decide to change or eliminate some of these features before the WWDC Keynote kicks off June 9th at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT. Apple won't be making WWDC all about AI like it did last year and much of the focus will probably be on changes being made to the different operating systems Apple develops for its devices. Already we know that Apple will officially announce a name change that replaces version numbers with the last two digits of the upcoming year. For example, iOS 19 will be known instead as iOS 26. Oppo Reno14 F is coming, here are its main specs
Oppo launched the Reno14 and Reno14 Pro in China last month, and is bringing them to international markets soon - rumor has it the introduction will take place in July. But it now looks like they won't be the only members of the family outside of China. Instead, they will be joined by the Reno14 F, which will unsurprisingly act as the successor to the Reno13 F launched in January. The Reno14 F has already received a bunch of certifications worldwide (in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Europe), indicating a wide release. Oppo Reno14 F certifications The phone has the model number CPH2743 and boasts a 6.7-inch screen, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of built-in storage, and support for 45W wired charging. These are all the specs that have been outed through these certifications, and unfortunately they don't tell us much - the Reno13 F also has support for 45W charging, and a 6.67-inch screen, so while its successor has an ever so slightly larger panel, the difference is so small as to be unnoticeable in real life.
