'
Proteas Men's head coach Shukri Conrad has today announced full-strength squads for the upcoming white-ball tour against Australia, scheduled to take place next month.'
Markram will captain the T20I side, while Bavuma returns to lead the ODIs, having played pivotal roles in South Africa's recent WTC campaign.
One of the key inclusions is Dolphins off-spinner Prenelan Subrayen, who receives his first T20I call-up after making his Test debut against Zimbabwe.
He joins fellow spinners George Linde, Senuran Muthusamy and Nqaba Peter in a spin-heavy T20I lineup.
In the ODI squad, Titans batters Dewald Brevis and Luan-dre Pretorius have been named, with Pretorius earning his maiden 50-over selection. While Brevis was part of the squad for last year's home series against Australia, he is yet to make his ODI debut.
Brevis, Pretorius and Subrayen feature in both squads, alongside Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and pacers Corbin Bosch, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada.

Dravid, Shastri identified Easwaran as Pujara's Test heir, but...: Father alleges BCCI's IPL bias cost him India cap

Cheteshwar Pujara might have played his last Test match in June 2023, during the World Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval. But the Indian team management had seemingly planned his exit two years earlier, with then-coach Ravi Shastri and successor Rahul Dravid reportedly identifying Abhimanyu Easwaran as his Test replacement. Abhimanyu Easwaran was identified to replace Cheteshwar Pujara in 2021 Easwaran backed their vision during the India A tour of South Africa in November 2021, where he was slotted at No. 3 — the same position Pujara held — and scored 103 in the first unofficial Test, followed by 55 in the second. Speaking to Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Easwaran's father, Ranganathan Parameshwaran Easwaran, revealed that the 'India coaches' had advised his son to bat one down on that tour, preparing him for Pujara's eventual role. Although he didn't name them, Shastri was India's head coach at the time, until he stepped down after the 2021 T20 World Cup, after which Dravid took over. "Abhimanyu was picked up for the India A side. He went to South Africa. With the advice of the Indian coaches at the time, Abhimanyu was asked to play one down, as Cheteshwar Pujara was leaving cricket. So he played at No. 3 and scored 103 against Marco Jansen and five other quality bowlers," the senior Easwaran said. Despite his performances, Easwaran was overlooked for the senior Test squad's tour of South Africa. His father alleged that the lack of an IPL profile had hurt his son's chances of selection. "By the time he came back from South Africa, Bengal lost in the quarterfinals to Karnataka. Karnataka played a pre-quarterfinal against Saurashtra. Bengal were out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy by then. So the talent scouts had nothing recent to show on paper. And this perception—along with the absence of an IPL record in my son's profile—is what I feel became a basic impediment to his India selection," he added. Easwaran did receive two call-ups from the BCCI selectors in 2021, albeit only as a standby — first for the home Test series against England, and then for the WTC final against New Zealand. His first official inclusion came in 2022 for the Test series in Bangladesh. Since then, he has been a regular part of the Test set-up as a back-up top-order batter but is yet to make his debut.

LaMelo Ball's teammate explains how he is becoming cornerstone Charlotte Hornets need (Image Credit: Getty Images) Charlotte Hornets may have to give their all to end the longest nine-year absence from the playoffs. And, they are working actively on it. Recently, LaMelo Ball's teammate and Hornets forward, Grant Williams, heaped praises on the All-Star forward for his offseason work. He explained how LaMelo Ball is keeping the momentum up in the Hornets camp with his enthusiastic approach to workouts and practices. Williams called Ball 'very, very welcoming' while explaining the initiatives he is taking in the offseason practice sessions. LaMelo Ball had to restrict his 2024-2025 season to 47 games due to various injuries, but he is on quite a different tangent for the upcoming season, as per his teammate. Teammate Grant Williams gives a peek into Charlotte Hornets' offseason work with LaMelo Ball taking lead The Charlotte Hornets have a tough task of ending the nine-season-long playoff drought. The team needs character-laden performances and support from the players with a leadership mindset. All these characteristics are now surfacing in the All-Star forward, LaMelo Ball's act, as per his teammate Grant Williams' revelation. While talking to Charlotte Observer's Roderick Boone, Williams said: 'He's doing a lot of things that bring value. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Brain tumor has left my son feeling miserable; please help! He's there and present, and I think (he) is somebody we can look to and see, like, 'He's actually putting the work in every single day, not this person who is away from us and claims to be doing the work.' No, he's doing it every single day. He's doing every single workout, he's being available.' Talking further on the dedicated approach of Ball, Williams said, 'Not only just from a like, 'Hey, let's go do this.' If maybe we do a mini-camp, 'Let's organize this, I'll take care of these guys, I'll do this.' So, he's being very, very welcoming in a sense of (being) a leader and understanding that he's going to have to take it to a more mature step in his role in order for us to be the best team possible.' Such an appreciative comment on LaMelo Ball shows how determined the NBA star is to make his presence count in the upcoming season. LaMelo Ball has been under scanner for quite some time due to his absence from the games due to injuries and rehabilitation. The refreshing revelation about Ball's fitness and mature attitude rests a very important concern for the Hornets fans. LaMelo Ball had to restrict his 2024-2025 season to 47 games due to injuries LaMelo Ball's 2024-2025 season was marred by injuries. On March 28, 2025, the Charlotte Hornets announced that Ball will be sitting on the bench for the rest of the season. He was given rest to get treatment for ankle and wrist injuries. A fan on Reddit commented in February 2025, 'LaMelo Ball rarely plays.' He pointed out that in his five-season tenure in the NBA, he played only one full season. With such a history, LaMelo Ball's new approach to practice, workouts, and team-building comes as refreshing news for the Charlotte Hornets. From being a non-player to a key driver, LaMelo Ball has taken a giant leap, if Grant Williams' comments are weighed in. Zimbabwe's Brendan Taylor Eyes 10,000 Run Club On International Return

Zimbabwe batter Brendan Taylor, who makes his return to the national set-up after three and a half years, is on the verge of becoming the third player from his country to make 10,000 runs in international cricket as Zimbabwe gear up for the second Test match against New Zealand, starting from Friday onwards. Zimbabwe is currently 1-0 down in the series. He became available for selection following the completion of a three-and-a-half-year suspension imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC), after he accepted responsibility for breaching both the ICC Anti-Corruption Code and the ICC Anti-Doping Code. Since then, Taylor has undergone a thorough rehabilitation programme and has consistently demonstrated a sincere commitment to personal growth, accountability and restoring trust. His presence in the side adds a lot of strength and experience, having played 34 Tests and overall 284 international matches in his career. Brendan is the third-highest run-getter for Zimbabwe, having made 9,938 runs across all formats of the game at an average of 34.15, with 17 centuries and 57 fifties. His best score is 171. Just 62 more runs will make him the third member of the 10,000 run club for Zimbabwe, with Andy Flower (11,580 runs in 276 matches with 16 centuries at an average of 40.63) and Grant Flower (10,028 runs in 288 matches at an average of 32.03, with 12 centuries) already a part of the club. With 2,320 runs in 34 Tests at an average of 36.25, six centuries and 12 fifties, Brendan is the fourth-highest run-getter in whites for Zimbabwe. Andy once again emerges as the top player, with 4,794 runs in 63 Tests at an average of 51.54, with 12 centuries and 27 fifties and a best score of 232*. As a 12th-ranked Zimbabwe side eyes an entry in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), a privilege only accessible to the top nine-ranked teams, Brendan's role becomes even more important. Zimbabwe has lost five of their last Tests and won only one of their previous eight. All of these matches have taken place this year, which has seen the nation play plenty of Test cricket with some top-ranked teams like South Africa, Bangladesh and England. Tests against Sri Lanka at home are also lined up. It is their batting which has let them down the most and kept them out of cricket's most elite teams. They have been bowled out in 15 out of 16 innings played this year, not touching the 300-run mark even once. While the line-up still has experience of skipper Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza, the fixtures have come in plenty, but not the results. The return of Brendan will give the side an additional hand to score runs, with a promising, up-and-coming top order line-up of Brian Bennett, Nick Welch and Ben Curran also producing occasional moments of brilliance. Squads: Zimbabwe Squad: Brian Bennett, Ben Curran, Nick Welch, Sean Williams, Craig Ervine(c), Sikandar Raza, Tafadzwa Tsiga(w), Newman Nyamhuri, Vincent Masekesa, Blessing Muzarabani, Tanaka Chivanga, Brendan Taylor, Wellington Masakadza, Roy Kaia, Tanunurwa Makoni, Clive Madande, Trevor Gwandu New Zealand Squad: Will Young, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell(w), Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Zakary Foulkes, Matt Henry, Ben Lister, Tom Latham, Jacob Duffy, Ajaz Patel, Matthew Fisher.
