T.N. CM Stalin to visit Cuddalore on July 14
According to official sources, the Chief Minister will launch the first camp of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' (Stalin with you) initiative, aimed at directly addressing public grievances and delivering government services through special camps at people's doorsteps, on July 15 in Chidambaram Municipality.
Under this initiative, a total of 378 camps will be held in the urban and rural areas of Cuddalore district. The initiative aims to bring government services and welfare schemes directly to people's neighbourhoods.
The Chief Minister will also pay floral tributes to a portrait of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Chidambaram on the occasion of the leader's birth anniversary.
Mr. Stalin will inaugurate a memorial hall to mark the birth centenary of Dalit leader and former president of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee L. Elayaperumal at his hometown in Chidambaram. The memorial hall has been built at a cost of ₹6.39 crore.
Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare M.R.K. Panneerselvam, accompanied by Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar, reviewed the security arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit.

We have not introduced caste columns in attendance. We will ask caste and category only during the admission to follow the reservation system. There is no caste-based discrimination in the campus. We are following UGC guidelines and norms specified by the Constitution." Responding to the recent suicide case, the VC said they did not know the student's caste until it was raised. "Security personnel might have broken the room door assuming that she might be alive and needed immediate medical care. After learning about her death, we immediately informed the police, who in turn informed her parents. Her parents informed us that she had some health issues," he stated. SBSP chief explores options for non-BJP front in Bihar polls
Lucknow: BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party has again started flexing its political muscles by indicating that it may form a third front with non-BJP parties to contest the Bihar elections. "We are keeping all options open in case our alliance with the BJP in Bihar does not happen," SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar told TOI on Saturday. Rajbhar, a minister in the Yogi cabinet, said his party is in talks with multiple smaller parties, including Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party and Mukesh Sahni's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Rajbhar said his party plans to contest at least 156 out of 243 assembly seats in Bihar. "It all depends on what and how the situation arises. We want to make our presence felt in Bihar where we have been active for the past many years," he said. Sources said Rajbhar has been bargaining hard with the BJP for a "respectable" number of seats in certain pockets of Siwan, Champaran, Saran, Gopalganj, and Buxar, which have a sizable presence of Rajbhar, Rajvanshi, Rajdhobi, and Bhar communities. The party also aims to consolidate castes like Patwa and Mandal. Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) form a significant voting bloc in Bihar. According to an estimate, it is over 30% of the total electorate. Sources said Rajbhar has held meetings with the BJP brass, including home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda, in his bid to get some poll space in Bihar. Rajbhar exploring the option of a third front is a significant development. Experts said SBSP's chief action may be seen through the lens of coalition politics, electoral bargaining, and regional caste dynamics. Sources said SBSP aims to consolidate non-dominant OBC groups, especially those feeling underrepresented by bigger players like RJD or JD(U). Rajbhar's plan to explore a new equation had its bit of strategic elements. Jan Suraaj Party offered a platform-driven movement with "clean governance" as its plank. Likewise, Sahni's VIP was another political group eyeing the non-Yadav OBC and Dalit vote bank. Experts said that the third front, if it materialises, might split the floating OBC/Dalit voters. Poor enrolment in schools is UP govt's fault, alleges AAP
Lucknow: In continuation of its ongoing protest against the programme initiated by UP govt to pair low-occupancy schools with the ones with more strength, Aam Aadmi Party staged protest in Lucknow on Saturday, attended by activists, teachers and parents of schoolgoing children. The party said the protests would continue across the state until govt retracted the order. Party MP Sanjay Singh, who led the protest, said AAP would not allow any govt school to be closed. Referring to some changes made in the order by govt on Thursday, Singh said this was partial victory but the movement would not stop until the plan to close selected schools was completely abandoned. Accusing govt of failing to improve condition of schools in the state, Singh said current plan of govt was an attempt to deprive children from poor, Dalit, backward classes and minority backgrounds of education. He argued that reason for poor enrolment given for pairing of schools was govt's fault, not of children. "The effort to walk longer distances to attend schools will most impact girls, differently abled children and those from marginalised communities and it is the duty of govt to ensure easy, accessible schooling for all children," he said. Party's co-in charge for UP, Dilip Pandey, said govt would not be allowed to get away with minor changes and would have to retract the order fully.
