Eva Pilgrim Jumps to ‘Inside Edition' from ABC News' ‘GMA3'

Yahoo07-07-2025
Eva Pilgrim will take up anchor duties at CBS' syndicated newsmagazine 'Inside Edition' starting in the fall, throwing talent plans for her current home, ABC News' 'GMA3' into question as the Disney network tries to make that afternoon program more a part of its overall 'Good Morning America' franchise.
'We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of 'Inside Edition,' said Charles Lachman, the program's executive producer, in a statement. 'She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take 'Inside Edition' into its next chapter.'

Deborah Norville has anchored 'Inside Edition' since 1995, backed up by Mary Calvi, a longtime correspondent for CBS' flagship New York station WCBS. Norville recently retired.
'Inside Edition' is one of TV's longest-running syndicated newsmagazines, having launched in 1989. In its earliest days, the show competed with similar tabloid TV newsmagazines such as 'Hard Copy' and 'A Current Affair,' and was hosted by Bill O'Reilly, who would go on to have a long career at Fox News Channel.
Pilgrim will only be the fourth anchor of the program, and will take its reins in the fall.
Her exit will draw new scrutiny to 'GMA3,' an afternoon news program that has had several incarnations since debuting at ABC in 2018. The show has long been viewed as a way to expand the network's massive 'Good Morning America' franchise, and help it compete more directly with NBC's 'Today,' which sports four hours of programming each weekday and more on weekends. The show launched as a lifestyle-news vehicle with Michael Strahan and Sara Haines, but pivoted to a more headline-driven format during the coronavirus pandemic.
'GMA3' seemed to thrive when it was led by co-anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, who were bolstered by medical and health reporting from Dr. Jen Ashton. But the program came under intense scrutiny when a romantic relationship between Holmes and Robach was unveiled, and ABC News executives failed to manage the imbroglio well. In recent years, Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan have led 'GMA3,' but ABC News has subjected it to cost-cutting, dismissing its executive producer and integrating it with staffers tied to 'GMA.'
Pilgrim joined ABC News in 2016, working her way up to 'GMA3' and a role as a senior national correspondent. She got her start in local news by working at stations in Bluefield, West Virginia; Columbia, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and attended the University of Florida and the University of South Carolina. She is also the author of a 2021 children's book, 'Walter Does His Best.'
'Anchoring 'Inside Edition' is truly a dream job,' Pilgrim said in a statement. 'I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I'm pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It's truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history.'

Dax Shepard posts NAKED picture of wife Kristen Bell celebrating her first Emmy nod

Dax Shepard has posted a nude picture of his wife Kristen Bell performing a yoga pose to celebrate her first-ever Emmy nomination. The 44-year-old actress is up for the Best Actress in a Comedy Series prize, for her role in romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, at this year's Emmy Awards. Kristen celebrated her nod by stripping off completely naked - apart from some knee-high blue socks - and performing a one-legged downward dog yoga move. Dax, 50, captured the moment, and shared it with his 4.1 million Instagram followers. He wrote: "People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen's. This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! (sic)" Fortunately for Kristen, Dax include a red box to cover up his wife's derriere. Dax's snap has gone down well on social media. It has been liked more than 122,000 times, and several stars have commented on the nude picture. Actress and singer Gwyneth Paltrow wrote: "Oh my God, Dax" Former The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev was a big fan of the picture, writing: "Hahahaha yesssss go girl ! suns out buns out for that Emmy!!! (sic)" While Kristen is clearly delighted about being nominated for the accolade, the star could have a bum deal on the night - because she faces stiff competition to land the prize. Kristen will face Hacks star Jean Smart, who won the same prize at last year's Emmy Awards, as well as The Bear's Ayo Edebiri, who is nominated for a second year in a row. The trio will also be up against The Residence's Uzo Aduba, and Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson. Dax and Kristen have been married since 2013, and have two daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.

You star Anna Camp reveals Emmy Awards frustration after nominations snub

Anna Camp is frustrated after being snubbed for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards. The 42-year-old actress played identical twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood in the fifth and final season of You on Netflix, and despite giving "one of the best performances" of her life, she wasn't included in the nominations on Tuesday (15.07.25). After the nominees were announced, she shared a photo on Instagram of her You character reading her phone looking confused. She captioned the picture on Instagram: "Me reading about the nominations this morning knowing I gave one of the best performances of my life while also trying to be happy for everyone and while also remembering I vowed to stop drinking during the week." She then took to her Story and shared two comments offering words of support. The first read: "You were [fire]... snubs are for scrubs. I'll down one [drink] for you." And another wrote: "I would get s***faced if I wasn't nominated for this performance." Anna added over the screenshot: "I love my followers." Meanwhile, her girlfriend Jade Whipkey praised her partner's performance on the show. She wrote: "BLOWN AWAY. not many people ever get the chance to play twins and NO ONE has ever done it like you did. Take notes Hollywood !!! (sic)" Anna would likely have been eligible for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama category. Instead, the shortlist featured Severance actress Particia Arquette, Paradise star Julianne Nicholson, The Pitt's Katherine LaNasa, and The White Lotus trio Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Natasha Rothwell. You wasn't nominated in any categories, and didn't receive a single Emmy nod during its entire run. The psychological thriller series starred Penn Badgley as obsessive serial killer Joe Goldberg. Camp joined the cast for the fifth and final season as twins Reagan and Maddie, who were the sisters of Kate Lockwood, played by Charlotte Ritchie in seasons four and five.
