Mohit Suri's film 'Saiyaara' is winning hearts for its touching story and melodic soundtrack by Sachet-Parampara. The duo praised Ahaan Panday's authentic portrayal as a musician and Aneet Padda's performance. Their song 'Humsafar' took over a year to create and features both male and female vocals.
Mohit Suri's musical, 'Saiyaara' is making a splash on the internet, with viewers falling for its engaging plot and enchanting soundtrack. The film's music, put together by
Sachet Tandon
and
Parampara Thakur
, has garnered particular praise. The composers have shared how impressed they were by the commitment and preparation of the film's leading man,
Ahaan Panday
and his lovely leading lady, Aneet Padda.
Creation of 'Humsafar'
Composer-lyricist team Sachet and Parampara collaborated to bring 'Humsafar' to life, setting Irshad Kamil's lyrics to melody. Their rendition of the song has garnered a huge number of views on YouTube. In a recent interview, the duo, who is married in real life, opened up about their experience tackling their debut project for Yash Raj Films.
The Long and Collaborative Process
Discussing with Hindustan Times, Parampara shared that they are happy people like their song, describing it as a great feeling because it took about one and a half years to create the song with their entire team.
She noted that Mohit (Suri) was involved throughout the process, as was Irshad.
Decision on Vocal Arrangement
They further revealed that initially, they thought the song could be performed by a male singer alone. However, they later decided that having both male and female vocals would be a better fit. According to her, for Suri, the song represents the beginning of love and trust between the lead characters in the film.

Behind the Scenes
Sachet and Parampara also shared a behind-the-scenes story about Mohit bringing the lead actors to the music studio. He mentioned that having Ahaan and Aneet in the studio brought a lovely and crazy energy, creating a great vibe. While they were making music, Mohit called both of them, but did not inform them that they were the actors at that time. They had already created 4-5 melodies, and Mohit asked them to perform these live.
They noticed Ahaan and Aneet closely observing how they were singing and making music. Parampara speculated that Mohit might have asked them to do this because he wanted a similar energy reflected on screen.
Sachet's Praise for Ahaan Panday's Authenticity
Sachet reflected on how impressed he was with Ahaan's ability to convincingly portray a musician onscreen. He noted how Ahaan mastered the art of lip-syncing, learned to hold the guitar naturally, and authentically embodied the process of composing music. Sachet emphasised that it is rare for an actor to lip-sync and act in a way that genuinely makes it appear as if they are actually singing. He recalled only feeling this level of realism once before, when he saw Ranbir Kapoor.
Sachet stated that after Ranbir, this is the first time he has witnessed such a performance, praising Ahaan for his dedication and outstanding work in the role.

Ahaan Panday dedicates Saiyaara's success to his late grandmother, Aneet Padda says she's ‘scared of what's next': ‘Wish I could hug you'

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who made their big screen debut with Saiyaara, have acheived the kind of stardom that has eluded newcomers since Hrithik Roshan's debut back in 2000. Now that the film has made over Rs 500 crore globally, Ahaan and Aneet have shared a note thanking their fans on social media. The two actors shared a bunch of photos from the film as they wrote long notes expressing their love for their newfound fame. Ahaan dedicated his success to his late grandmother Snehlata Panday. 'Mujhe pata tha.. sitaaron mein sitara, ek tanha tara-dadi meri.. wahan se dekh kar mujhe.. muskuraengi – ye sirf aapke liye hai dadi (I knew… among the stars, one lone star – my grandmother, she will smile at me. This is for you),' read a part of his note. He also wrote for his fans as he shared, 'I don't know what lies ahead for me, but I know that in this moment I feel the love in my bones, I feel it for every single one of you, and I'll feel it forever and ever and ever. I promise to work twice as hard, be twice as good, and to do this for you all, but also do it for the child in me, the child who had two left feet. The child who got jitters before going on stage, the child who was always told he couldn't do it, we all have that child in us. I hope you all keep making that child happy because that child in you deserves it all, thank you for this miracle, I wish I could hug every single one of you; Tere bina to kuch naa rahenge).' 'The daze is wearing off and all I want to say is that I love you. I don't know you. But I know that I love you. All this love you've been so generous to give me, it's sitting heavy in my chest, and I don't know what to do except give it back. I'm scared of what's next, scared I won't be enough, but whatever I have, even the smallest piece of me, I'll put it out there. If it makes you laugh, or cry, or remember something you thought you'd forgotten, if it makes you feel a little less alone – then maybe that's what I'm here for. And I'll keep trying. Imperfect, but with everything I've got. Because I love you,' she wrote. Saiyaara writers asked ChatGPT to suggest film's climax, the response made them laugh: ‘It said hero and heroine should both…'

Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, and starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has become one of the most successful love stories from Bollywood. The film's writers, Sankalp Sadanah and Rohan Shankar, recently shared that when they were trying to come up with the film's climax, they tried everything but couldn't find a solution that fit the tone of their film. Sankalp, who worked on the film's climax with director Mohit Suri, said that at one point, one of his assistants asked ChatGPT for suggestions for the film's climax, in jest. In a chat with Komal Nahta on his YouTube channel, Sankalp was asked about how he came up with the film's beautiful happy ending and he shared that he had written the entire screenplay of the film, but was yet to crack the climax. He shared, 'We had written the whole story but we were yet to crack the climax. We didn't know what the resolution of the film will be. At that point, I had an assistant Chetan Naidu and he asked ChatGPT also, just for fun. There was no seriousness behind it. He asked, 'How would Mohit Suri end such a movie?' And it responded by saying that hero and heroine should both die.' Sankalp laughed as he shared this anecdote and said that even Mohit Suri was thinking that the heroine's story could end in tragedy, given her condition. 'Even Mohit was thinking that given the heroine's condition, it was inching towards a tragedy. But we couldn't crack it. Then one day, I was stuck in traffic and it just came to me,' he said. Globally, the film has grossed over Rs 500 crore and it just inches away from crossing Pathaan's record at the global box office. At a time when Hindi films have largely not been performing well at the box office, Saiyaara's success has shocked industry experts. In the last few years, films with newcomers have not been successful in attracting the audience, which is why Saiyaara's success is being seen as an anomaly.

Saiyaara Actor Varun Badola Opposes Director Mohit Suri's "Organic Views" Claim: "Promotions Team Went A Little Overboard"

Saiyaara actor Varun Badola recently claimed in an interview that promotions team went "overboard" to create the Saiyaara hysteria. His views stand in stark opposition to what director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films CEO Akshaye Widhani earlier said that the Instagram views and reels were "organic." What's Happening Varun Badola, who played Ahaan Panday's father in the film, hasn't seen the film yet. In an interview with Screen, he said the team didn't anticiapte such a massive response while shooting for the film. "When we were working on the film, we hadn't thought it would get so big; everyone must have thought that the film should at least earn what had gone behind producing it. But on the third day of the release, when the film blew up at the box office, we realized it had gone big. I still haven't watched Saiyaara," he said. Talking about the reels of Gen-Z shedding tears, which flooded social media, Varun said, "By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking their bangles, beating themselves). I think the promotions team went a little overboard there, where people are going to see the film, putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content in some way; thank god, people didn't get their legs broken and went crawling to see the film." "It's okay. We understand promoting the film, but it's good only up to a certain level. However, the film cannot earn so much money just based on Instagram promotions. People have gone and seen the film, and they have loved it," he added. What Mohit Suri Said In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Yash Raj Films CEO Akshaye Widhani and director Mohit Suri said there were no paid promotions. Tagging all reactions as "organic", YRF CEO said, "It was amazing to see that when the reactions started pouring in, we started seeing some of these reels from smaller cities, from different centres and none of this was designed. These were actual audience reactions." Mohit Suri chimed in: "You can't script these." In A Nutshell Saiyaara actor Varun Badola said that the film's promotional team went "overboard" to create the mass hysteria. His views opposed what Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films CEO Akshaye Widhani claimed earlier.
