Jurassic World: Rebirth, the Scarlett Johansson-starrer, was released in the theatres on July 4. The latest instalment of the iconic Jurassic Park franchise saw a grand opening in India on Friday. On its Day 1, the film outperformed several Bollywood films like Kajol's Maa and Anurag Basu's Metro…In Dino and even Hollywood star Brad Pitt's racing drama, F1. According to Sacnilk.com, the sci-fi thriller minted Rs 9 crore on its opening day across all languages.
The film made a solid start at the box office on its first day, despite having a clash with Metro..In Dino, which collected Rs 3.35 crore on Day 1.
With such big numbers, Jurassic World: Rebirth has emerged as the franchise's highest opener, surpassing its previous instalment, Jurassic World Dominion, which grossed Rs 8.15 crore net (excluding paid previews). The film, which was released in 2022, earned Rs 11 crore, including previews.
Looking at the positive reviews, the film's collection is expected to grow in the coming days in India. However, the film might face a significant challenge at the box office with James Gunn's highly anticipated Superman arriving in the theatres next week.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film also features celebs like Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Gracia-Rulfo and Ed Skrein in pivotal roles.
The film tells the narrative of a group of mercenaries and scientists who travel to a dinosaur-infested island to gather prehistoric DNA for a medical breakthrough. The film follows their mission to collect samples from three huge dinosaurs (a Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus, and Quetzalcoatlus) while simultaneously saving a stranded family. The journey turns into a fight for survival as they face rogue dinosaurs and negotiate the dangers of the island.
As for the global collection, Jurassic World: Rebirth was released in the US on July 2 and earned an impressive USD 30.5 million on its first day at the US box office, according to Box Office Mojo by IMDb Pro. It is the sixth biggest opening of 2025 so far, topping previous blockbuster releases such as F1, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Sinners.

Vivek Oberoi says he felt stuck in Bollywood, turned to business and raised over $1 billion in last year alone: ‘You have to marry Silicon Valley with a Marwari mindset'

Vivek Oberoi has revealed that a sense of stagnation in the film industry led him to pivot more aggressively towards business. Having spent over two decades in Bollywood, the actor said he grew increasingly disillusioned with the lack of meaningful collaboration in the entertainment world. That realisation pushed him to pursue entrepreneurship, which he now calls his 'primary source of sustenance.' Speaking to CNBC TV-18, Vivek shared, 'After a while in the industry, I realised I was going around in circles and ending up where I started. I didn't enjoy that. It wasn't empowering. I enjoyed being there and collaborating with certain people, but collaboration needs to be a circular give-back.' Suresh Oberoi sparked his early interest in business The foundation for his entrepreneurial spirit, Vivek said, was laid in childhood thanks to his father, veteran actor Suresh Oberoi. He recalled how his father would often bring home inventory, sometimes perfumes, other times electronics, and ask a young Vivek to sell them door-to-door. 'When I was nine or 10, he would suddenly show up with inventory. One year it was perfumes, another year it was electronics... I'd fill it up in my backpack and go door-to-door. At the end of the day, he'd ask me for my 'khata book' and let me keep only the profit. He'd take the cost from me,' Vivek shared. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo Two of his companies are set to go public The actor claims to be actively involved in 12 companies, and two of them are gearing up for an IPO. In the last year alone, he says he's helped raise approximately $1 billion (Rs 8,500 crore) in capital. According to reports, Vivek Oberoi's net worth now stands at around Rs 1,200 crore. 'I'm not averse to obnoxious capital,' he remarked. 'That is a substantial sum. But where that capital pipeline deploys and how is that growth protected... Somewhere, you have to marry Silicon Valley with a Marwari mindset. That marriage has to happen.' Vivek Oberoi confesses he wanted to 'end things' at one point: 'Which is why I related to what happened with Sushant Singh Rajput..' Tapping into the 'desi tadka' mindset in business Reflecting on Bollywood's penchant for adding a local twist to global concepts, Vivek added with a laugh, 'Even when we copied international films, we added our desi tadka. So, why not in business?' The shift, he explained, came when he chose to stop 'banging his head' against closed doors in the film industry and opted instead to build his own. 'It was about either going down a spiral of pessimism, or stop banging my head against that door and open another one instead.'

Deepika Padukone Spoke Of Work-Life Balance Before Spirit Row: 'In Our Country, Taking Leaves Is Unprofessional'

Last Updated: Deepika Padukone reportedly walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next film, Spirit, over eight-hour workday demand, spotlighting Bollywood's need for better work–life balance. Bollywood star Deepika Padukone recently stepped away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, reportedly due to her request for an eight-hour workday—a firm stand that's stirring industry-wide discussions about work–life balance and crew welfare, especially for new mothers. Deepika has long advocated for healthier working schedules. In a candid Film Companion interview earlier, she connected this fight to her own mental health journey. She said, 'That's also where I draw the line in terms of my schedule. That's the only place where I could start feeling that I'm not enjoying what I'm doing. The only other time I felt like that was when I was experiencing depression, but that's very different because you have no control over your thoughts and feelings. Many years ago, I realized the importance of finding a work-life balance. I don't intend to burnout, I'm not going anywhere." She challenged the cultural misconception here and said, 'Somehow, in our country, including the corporate world, taking leaves or wanting time for yourself carries a connotation of being unprofessional, not hardworking or driven enough. And I disagree. You can be all of those things and still make time for yourself. How are you going to replenish and put energy back into your work if you don't?" Deepika also spoke about protecting the crew's health and rights. 'Streamlining the hours that we work, especially for the crew… people need to be given enough downtime and rest so that they come back with better energy. That'll help you work faster and better the quality of your work too." She went on to stress fair pay: 'Step 2 is to be compensated for overtime… The crew… comes in much earlier and leaves much later. Overtime may happen but we need to find a mechanism where they're at least compensated for that on an hourly basis," she had said. Following reports of Deepika Padukone's exit from the Prabhas-starrer 'Spirit', the makers found a new lead actress for the film. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Animal and Kabir Singh, Spirit will now star Triptii Dimri as the female lead. Triptii has previously worked with Vanga on the successful film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. First Published:
