Two hospitalized, roadway shut down following head-on crash in Wilmington
According to police, officers responding to a head-on crash in the area of Route 62 just after 9 p.m. found a Lexus RX 330 and a Jeep Cherokee with significant damage.
One person is to be flown to the hospital via medical helicopter with serious injuries. Another person was conscious and alert while being transported to an area hospital via ambulance.
Officials say the roadway is closed until further notice and it may impact the Thursday morning commute.
No further information was immediately available.

Classic Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler fans just got the best news from Stellantis
New Stellantis (STLA) Antonio Filosa knew he had his work cut out for him when he took over the job. Filosa, 51, officially took over for former CEO Carlos Tavares on June 23, but he has been with the company for 25 years, and he understands that the international conglomerate doesn't have much without the North American market. Last month, the company announced that Filosa would be moving the CEO's office to Detroit, Michigan, while also revealing that it will build a $388 million "Megahub" in Van Buren Township, just outside Detroit. Related: New Stellantis CEO deals with more of the company's old problems But Stellantis is struggling with the 25% tariffs that have been in place for months now. Stellantis shipped 7% fewer vehicles this year than it did in the first half of 2024. But somehow, that decline was better than the 14% decline it reported in the second half of 2024 during the time Tavares stepped down in October. Stellantis says its "industrial costs" rose by 1.6 billion ($1.85 billion), including a net 330 million euros ($381 million) of tariff expenses. The company expects its tariff expenses for the full year to be at the high end of its previous estimate of between 1 billion and 1.5 billion euros ($1.15 billion to $1.73 billion) Getting the North American market back won't be easy, but Filosa pinpointed exactly where he thinks the company lost its most important market. It will take more than money invested in the States to win back customers, and Filosa acknowledged this fact during the earnings call. "For sure, one important root cause of our market deterioration, both in North America, especially, but also in Enlarged Europe, is the fact that in the past we decided to phase out many important, relevant, and successful nameplates," Filosa said. Filosa went on to name seven popular vehicles that were phased out during his predecessor's tenure, including Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Renegade, Chrysler 300, Ram DS Classic, Ram ProMaster City, Dodge Charger and the Challenger. So not only will Stellantis bring back many of the brands that made Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler the iconic brand it was, the company is also bringing back the ancillary bells and whistles that defined American muscle. "The powertrain that we have discontinued in the past that we have coming back, starting with the legendary Hemi V8 engine, has been shelved before and this means volumes, and this means margin per unit," Filosa said. Earlier this year, Stellantis reported that total first-quarter 2025 U.S. sales decreased 12% year-over-year, despite a 16% increase in Ram brand sales and a 1% increase in Chrysler brand sales. Jeep brand sales saw a 2% increase. The company reported total sales of 293,225 vehicles in the first three months of the year. Business did not improve in the second quarter. On Tuesday, Stellantis reported that first-half net revenues fell 13% year over year, driven once again by declines in North America and Europe. The company had a net loss of 2.3 billion euros ($2.66 billion) after reporting a 5.6 billion euro profit a year ago. Stellantis closed Tuesday's session down 1.13% to $9.59 per share. New Hampshire's new law protecting gunmakers faces first test in court over Sig Sauer lawsuit
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A new state law in New Hampshire that makes it harder to take gunmaker Sig Sauer to court is getting its first test before a judge on Monday. The 2-month-old law was created by the Republican-led Legislature in response to mounting lawsuits faced by the Newington-based manufacturer over its popular P320 pistol. The lawsuits say that the gun can go off without the trigger being pulled, an allegation Sig Sauer denies. Sig Sauer, which employs over 2,000 people in New Hampshire, said the gun is safe and the problem is user error. Several large, multi-plaintiff cases filed since 2022 in New Hampshire's federal court representing nearly 80 people accuse Sig Sauer of defective product design, marketing, and negligence, in addition to lawsuits filed in other states. Many of the plaintiffs are current and former law enforcement officers who say they were wounded by the gun. They say the P320 design requires an external mechanical safety, a feature that is optional. The most recent New Hampshire case, representing 22 plaintiffs in 16 states, was filed in March. It's the focus of Monday's hearing. The new law on product liability claims against Sig Sauer and other gun manufacturers covers the 'absence or presence' of the external safety and several other optional features. Claims can still be filed over manufacturing defects. Attorneys for Sig Sauer argue it should apply to the March case, even though the law didn't exist at the time. 'New Hampshire has a clearly articulated position against such claims being cognizable in this state,' they argue in court documents for breaking up the cases and transferring them to court districts where the plaintiffs live. Lawyers from a Philadelphia-based firm representing the plaintiffs, disagree, saying the law 'has zero implication' on the case and only applies to future lawsuits. New Hampshire was the chosen location because federal rules allow lawsuits against a company in its home state, the plaintiff's attorneys say. Those lawsuits have been assigned to one federal judge in Concord. Sig Sauer is trying to decentralize the case, they say. Sig Sauer has prevailed in some cases. It has appealed two recent multimillion-dollar verdicts against it, in Pennsylvania and Georgia. Mass. lawmaker facing charges of drunken driving, property damage after arrest near State House
A Massachusetts lawmaker is facing charges after police say he was arrested on Beacon Hill near the State House in Boston early Wednesday morning. State Rep. John J. Lawn was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of property damage, a Boston Police Department spokesman told Boston 25 News. Lawn is a Democrat who represents the state's 10th Middlesex District, which includes the communities of Newton, Waltham, and Watertown. Lawn also chairs the Committee on Health Care Financing. The Massachusetts Republican Party issued a statement in response to Lawn's arrest, calling for his resignation. 'Wednesday's arrest is another example of Beacon Hill Democrats using their titles to try and avoid punishment. By declaring himself a lawmaker at the time of his arrest, it's clear Rep. Lawn sought to escape the consequences of his actions,' MassGOP spokesman Mark Steffen said. He should resign and offer the residents of Watertown the chance to elect a new representative who doesn't ask officers to look the other way when he allegedly breaks the law."
