Real Madrid Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This PSG Midfielder: Dream Choice For Alonso?
Vitinha enjoyed an excellent form at the French club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The 25-year-old scored eight times and secured five assists in 59 matches for PSG last season across multiple competitions.
The Portuguese midfielder gave a good account of himself as he made 43 tackles, 26 blocks and 14 interceptions in Ligue 1. He was even tidy when distributing possession from midfield after completing 93.1% of his attempted passes in the French first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it won't be easy for Los Blancos to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

Is Vitinha A Dream Choice For Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso?
Vitinha is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball when required.
The Portuguese midfield ace can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a holding midfielder or play in the number ten position if told to do so by his manager.
We can expect Vitinha to add more quality to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso's midfield department. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 25, Vitinha has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a dream choice for Los Blancos to consider in this transfer window. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga if Real Madrid manage to get him on board this summer or next year.

Fabrizio Romano insists Man Utd transfer is ‘absolutely underway' as ‘phenomenal' star only wants one destination
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano fully expects Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho to end up at Chelsea before the end of the summer. The Argentinian failed to lock himself a regular starting role at Ruben Amorim's court as he did during Erik ten Hag's tenure, when he was hailed as a 'phenomenal talent'. The 21-year-old shared a frosty relationship with the Portuguese manager from the get-go, and it all came to a head after the Europa League final, when the player publicly voiced his frustration after being kept on the bench for 70 minutes. Therefore, Garnacho was identified as one of five Man United stars who are considered surplus to requirements. Man United aiming to offload Garnacho & three others Thus far, Marcus Rashford is the only member of the so-called 'bomb squad' who has found an escape route out of Carrington, joining Barcelona on loan with an option to buy. On the other hand, Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia still linger in Manchester. But while the other three are facing uncertain futures, at least the Argentinian has a clear plan in mind, with Chelsea emerging as the ultimate frontrunners to secure his services. Garnacho has even agreed personal terms with the West Londoners. Therefore, Romano insists that the Atletico Madrid youth product will eventually sign for the Blues, barring any unforeseen events. When will Chelsea open talks with Man United for Alejandro Garnacho As the transfer market expert explained in the latest video update posted on his YouTube channel, Garnacho has made it clear that he only has eyes for Chelsea, refusing to consider any other destination. Romano adds that the deal remains 'absolutely underway', and that the Stamford Bridge outfit will open direct talks with Man Utd at the right moment. Nevertheless, the Club World Cup winners must first offload players to make room for new arrivals like Garnacho and Xavi Simons. Chelsea are expected to offload Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, two players who were previously linked to Man United, but are no longer needed, as INEOS have already revamped their attack by recruiting Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

Ski jumping's suit trouble is back ahead of Olympics as numerous athletes disqualified
The right suit can help send a ski jumper soaring to gold. The wrong suit will get you grounded. Ski jumping faces more controversy with six months to go until the Winter Olympics after the first high-level competition of the new season saw numerous athletes disqualified over ill-fitting suits. The governing body says it's 'perfectly normal.' The ski jumping world was rocked in March by the discovery of illegally altered suits on the Norwegian team at the world championships. The International Ski Federation investigated officials and athletes over those changes which could help the wearer soar through the air for longer with the suit's larger surface area. In Saturday's first event of the 2025-26 season — a summer Grand Prix event on an artificial surface in France — six male ski jumpers were disqualified because of suit issues such as waist size and three more were 'not permitted to start.' Another jumper from Japan was blocked from competing as the Grand Prix continued Sunday. The federation told The Associated Press in an e-mailed statement that it's treating the spate of disqualifications as the natural result of tightening up the rules after the Norwegian suit scandal. FIS race director Sandro Pertile said he doesn't think anyone was trying to cheat and that fewer disqualifications will occur as teams get used to the rules. Making specialized ski jumping equipment is 'a fairly complicated matter,' he said. 'It's perfectly normal for teams to need some time to adapt to the new situation after such comprehensive changes to the equipment regulations. Some cope with it straight away, others find it difficult at first," Pertile told the AP. 'It's also important to highlight that these disqualifications are clearly a result of technical inadequacies — there's no sign whatsoever of ill intent from the teams.' FIS indicated that a further nine men and five women didn't compete following a 'technical approval' process, though it wasn't clear if all of those cases involved their suits. Five of those 14 were on the United States team, which didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Among those disqualified Saturday was Norway's Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, who had previously been provisionally suspended earlier this year following the world championships. FIS signaled it will remain rigorous in its checks through the Olympic season but expects to find athletes wearing increasingly snug — and therefore legal — suits. 'The teams know that they have our full support, and we expect the number of disqualifications to decrease significantly in the coming weeks,' Pertile said. "With that said, we will remain strict and precise with equipment check the whole season long; there is no room for exceptions.' ___ AP sports:

Real Madrid midfielder ruled out of La Liga opener due to injury
Real Madrid start their 2025-26 season in nine days' time as they host Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it appears that they will be without an important player for Xabi Alonso's first La Liga match. Alonso will have big decisions to make on his first starting line-up of the season – especially in midfield. If he uses a 4-2-3-1 as expected, there will be question marks about who plays alongside Federico Valverde as one of the two pivots in that system. Aurelien Tchouameni is the favourite, but there is also an opportunity for Eduardo Camavinga. Camavinga is seeking redemption during the 2025-26 campaign, having had a poor last 12 months. Real Madrid have kept their faith in him, but they will be clear that he needs to return to his best level in order to remain at the Bernabeu long-term. But unfortunately for Camavinga, he looks set to miss the La Liga opener against Osasuna, with Real Madrid confirming that he has suffered an ankle injury. 'After the tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprain in his right ankle. Pending evolution.' Image via Mahmud Hams/Diario AS How long is Camavinga expected to be out for? As per Marca, it is only a minor injury for Camavinga, but he is still expected to be out for at least 10 days. And given that Real Madrid face Osasuna next Tuesday (19/08), it would come too soon for him to be involved. Real Madrid are already without Jude Bellingham for the next 2-3 months after he underwent surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury earlier in the summer. It's definitely not ideal for Alonso to be without another midfielder for his first match at the Bernabeu, but it looks like he will have to do without Camavinga against Osasuna.
