Why Brooks & Dunn's Ronnie Dunn abruptly boot-scooted off-stage during concert encore

The team for country music duo Brooks & Dunn has shed more light on what led to singer Ronnie Dunn's abrupt exit at a recent concert.
A representative for the Grammy-winning pair known for 'Neon Moon' and 'Brand New Man' told USA Today on Monday that the 71-year-old Dunn 'wasn't feeling well from being sick' when he bowed out early during an encore on Thursday. At the time, Brooks & Dunn were performing at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Radio host Matt Malone recorded the moment of Dunn's unexpected exit and shared the video to TikTok on Friday. In the clip, Dunn can be seen rocking out with Kix Brooks and their bassist as they perform their twangy hit 'Boot Scootin' Boogie.' After encouraging fans to 'sing it if you know it,' Dunn looks at the bassist, shakes his head and gestures that he's done for the evening. Dunn then walks to the edge of the stage where he extends his arms to the audience, taps his hand over his heart and waves. The video ends with Dunn exiting the stage.
'Feel better, Ronnie,' Malone captioned his video, which has garnered more than 86,000 likes. 'Thanks for giving us all you could!!'
Brooks & Dunn got its start in the late 1980s and gained popularity and critical acclaim for many songs including 'Hard Workin' Man,' 'You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone' and 'Cowgirls Don't Cry.' The country music pair has two Grammy wins, and dozens of Country Music Assn. and Academy of Country Music awards combined under its belt.
Despite Dunn leaving the show early on Thursday and mounting concern and speculation about his health, Brooks & Dunn carried on. The representative told USA Today that 'Saturday night's show went on as planned.' They performed at the Allstate Arena at Rosemont, Ill.
Brooks & Dunn released its latest album 'Reboot II' in November and has three shows remaining this month on its New Moon tour.

Jalen Hurts finds time for reflection and renewed self-confidence

Very rarely will you hear Jalen Hurts talk this much about anything. Confidence as described by #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.. How can you not love this guy? Sometimes, there is this urge to pick on Philadelphia Eagles fans and the local media. Maybe not all of them, but some of them can undoubtedly get that smoke. Not everyone is guilty of this, but this has to be said. Remember when Donovan McNabb played that 'air guitar' on his way to the field in his final appearance with the franchise? Remember how annoyed everyone was. That same contingent that criticized him is the same collective that criticizes Jalen Hurts for his stoicism. What more do people want? This is a guy who has crafted a 46-20 regular-season record while winning six of his nine postseason starts. This is also the guy who outplayed Patrick Mahomes on the game's biggest stage twice, winning one of those Super Bowls by a landslide. There comes a time when one comes to grips with the truth. Jalen Hurts could win three more Super Bowls. People will still complain. Sure, we realize some of these theories come from the national media as well, but fortunately, Hurts "had a purpose before anyone had an opinion". Yes... Take that, haters! Jalen Hurts opens up and shares the source of some newfound confidence Jalen Hurts was truly built for a city like Philadelphia. While others shrink under the pressure, he thrives in it. All the while, he remains humble while 'keeping the main thing the main thing'. This is a guy who was chosen by the greatest NBA player of all time, Michael Jordan, to be the NFL's ambassador of one of the world's top athletic brands. Most guys would do anything to play at one of college football's most iconic programs. Jalen Hurts has played for two of them. Kudos to this guy for remaining level-headed. We've never been part of a Super Bowl-winning roster, but we imagine it's pretty cool. On whether that has led to a confidence boost, Hurts offered the following response. Hurts may sound like someone with 40 years of life experiences to share, but he is still 27 years old. Think about that for a second. His story is still being written. His legacy is still being defined. Perhaps rather than complain, if some of you take some time to sit back and enjoy this, you may discover that you are enjoying the ride.

Julia Garner Confident She May Live to Tell Madonna's Story in Stalled Biopic: ‘That's Supposed to Still Happen'

Julia Garner isn't giving up hope of slipping into a cone bra just yet. The Fantastic Four: First Steps star stopped in to the SmartLess podcast for this week's episode and told hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes that despite the delayed Madonna biopic getting put on ice in 2023 she's still confident it will happen at some point. Hayes asked for an update on the Universal Pictures project and Garner said, 'Yeah, that's supposed to still happen,' without divulging any additional details of timeline for the biopic that was first announced in 2020 and then put on indefinite hold as Madonna went on the road for her Celebration world tour. Garner was rumored to have landed the coveted lead role and she told the trio that the casting made perfect sense given her superfandom. I was such a fan of Madonna's,' she said. 'I grew up listening to Madonna. It just came about. I knew that they were doing a project, making a movie about it and then I went out to audition.' In a career that has taken her from the gritty, Emmy-winning role of Ruth Langmore in Bateman's Netflix series Ozark, to top-lining in this year's horror film Wolf Man and her first super hero franchise in the just-released Fantastic Four box office smash, Garner said the decision to try out for the Madonna biopic was 'another thing that I kind of just wanted to see if I could do.' Admitting that she has no formal dance training — unlike Madonna, who attended the University of Michigan on a dance scholarship and trained with famed choreographer/dancer Martha Graham — Garner, 31, said she had to learn how to dance and then show off her moves in front of Madonna herself. 'And convince her that I can dance, basically, and sing with her,' she said. When Bateman asked what that high-pressure situation was like, Garner described approaching it with a WWMD (what would Madonna do?) attitude. 'Which is like, convince you that she deserves to be in this room.. and I owned it,' she said. 'I was kind of like, 'you can take it or leave it. But if you leave it, if I leave, then that's on you. If you take it, great.'' The bottom line, Garner said, is that the stalled project is 'still brewing,' noting that anything great 'takes a long time.' After the movie was paused, Madonna appeared to tease that it was back on last July when she posted a since-deleted photo of herself sitting at a typewriter working on a screenplay entitled Who's That Girl, an apparent reference to her 1987 film and song of the same name. That news came two months after Deadline reported that Madonna had teamed up with Deadpool & Wolverine producer Shawn Levy to develop a limited Netflix series based on her life and career; at press time The Hollywood Reporter said the series is in the 'early stages' of development at the streamer. Further muddying the waters, in November, Madonna floated the idea of doing a TV series about her life, saying that a number of 'producers and agents' had told her that a movie wouldn't allow her the space to tell her whole story. 'Downsize-down scale-think smaller-they say—I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged,' she wrote in the deleted post, asking her fans if they would prefer to see her story adapted into 'a series or a feature film.'
