Spain win 11-goal thriller over Germany to reach U19 Euro final
Real Betis winger Pablo Garcia was Spain's hero in a semi-final that turned from a 2–1 Germany lead with 12 minutes of regulation time left into an 11-goal extravaganza.
Garcia's fourth goal of the night – which came seconds before the final whistle – finally settled a contest after three stoppage time goals had taken the game to extra time.
The Germans will be left wondering how they are leaving the tournament despite Hoffenheim striker Max Moerstedt's impressive hat-trick.
Spain, the defending champions, will face the Netherlands in Thursday's final after they defeated hosts Romania 3-1 on Monday.

Wrexham close in on £8m deal for Man City starlet Callum Doyle
Wrexham are closing in on an £8m deal for Manchester City defender Callum Doyle that would take their summer spending past £30m. The 21-year-old is set to become Phil Parkinson 's 10th summer signing while City continue to trim their squad and bring in money by selling youth-team products. Centre-back Doyle would become the second biggest buy in Wrexham's history after Nathan Broadhead joined from Ipswich last week in a move that could cost up to £10m. Wrexham had already broken their club record this summer to sign first Liberato Cacace and then Lewis O'Brien while they have also bought Conor Coady, Kieffer Moore, Ryan Hardie and George Thomason, besides bringing in Josh Windass and Danny Ward on free transfers. England Under-21 international Doyle has never made a first-team appearance for City but has had four loan spells, playing for Sunderland in League One in 2021-22 and then Coventry, Leicester City and Norwich City in the Championship. He won promotions with Sunderland and Leicester and reached the play-off final with Coventry. After going up in each of the last three seasons, Wrexham have lost both of their matches in the Championship, conceding five goals, as well as three in the Carabao Cup to Hull. Doyle's departure will follow James McAtee's £30m move to Nottingham Forest, while City have also sold other young players, in Jacob Wright, Maximo Perrone and Farid Alpha-Ruprecht. In addition, one of Pep Guardiola's summer signings, Sverre Nypan, has joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan. The 18-year-old Norwegian midfielder joined for £12.5m, but City's plan was always to loan him out to gain first-team experience.

Reason revealed for Nobel Mendy to Rangers transfer collapsing – and it's NOT to do with finances
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS opted to pursue other targets after failing to complete a deal for Real Betis defender Nobel Mendy. We reported over the weekend that the move was off, despite the player having been said to have agreed personal terms with the Ibrox club. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 1 Nobel Mendy in action for Real Betis against Liverpool in pre-season Credit: Getty Mendy, who can play at left-back as well as his predominant position of centre-back, was understood to be on the brink of a switch to Glasgow - with a £2.5million fee reportedly agreed. The collapse of the transfer led some to assume that the reason it didn't go through was due to a financial disagreement. But reports in Spain now suggest that a problem in the player's medical could have led to Gers calling things off. According to AS, the 21-year-old's departure could have been halted by issues in the medical, which took place in Barcelona. Betis remain confident that he has no injury worries and that the defender will sign with another club this summer however, whether that be on loan or permanently. After missing out on Mendy, Gers switched focus and quickly agreed to a deal that brought Brentford starlet Jayden Meghoma to Scottish football. The 19-year-old, who worked with Russell Martin at Southampton, joined the Ibrox side on a season-long loan. He has gone straight into the Light Blues' Champions League squad, replacing attacking midfielder Nedim Bajrami. Gers know the left-back area is a weak point at the moment, with Jefte and Ridvan Yilmaz both on the way out. Max Aarons hasn't looked comfortable playing on what it is his weaker side but Meghoma now becomes the only other option. Rangers players look terrified and exposed under Russell Martin With that in mind, Rangers are reportedly renewing interest in a former target. That man is Roma defender Anass Salah-Eddine.
