Ariana Grande, Ice Spice & Cynthia Erivo announced as guest judges for 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10'

Express Tribune02-05-2025
Season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is upping the ante with a star-packed roster of celebrity guest judges, and the latest reveal confirms it: the judging panel is going to be stacked.
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the powerhouse duo starring in the upcoming Wicked film, are set to bring their signature sparkle to the show.
Joining them is rap superstar Ice Spice, alongside a glittering lineup including Chappell Roan, Colman Domingo, Kate Beckinsale, Susanne Bartsch, Adam Shankman, Jamal Sims, Mayan Lopez, Devery Jacobs, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
These stars will appear alongside the show's iconic judging crew: RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, Carson Kressley, and Law Roach.
In the trailer, Chappell Roan makes a memorable entrance into the Werk Room, wearing a robe and wig cap, teasing the queens with: 'Do you have something sexy I can slip into?'
Meanwhile, Erivo and Grande make their grand entrance as well — appearing in both the Werk Room and at the judges' table. Erivo remarks, 'It's good to see us now, isn't it?' while Grande turns to the queens and quips, 'No need to respond, that was rhetorical.'
As previously announced, the new season will showcase 18 returning queens, all vying for a coveted spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame and a $200,000 grand prize.
The fierce returning queens include:
Acid Betty, Aja, Alyssa Hunter, Bosco, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, DeJa Skye, Denali, Ginger Minj, Irene the Alien, Jorgeous, Kerri Colby, Lydia B Kollins, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Nicole Paige Brooks, Olivia Lux, Phoenix, and Tina Burner.
These queens will be split into three teams of six — Team Purple, Team Orange, and Team Pink — competing in what the show calls the 'Tournament of All Stars.'
Each team will battle it out across three episodes, with the top three point-earners from each bracket advancing to the semi-finals.
The final nine queens will then clash in two more episodes, culminating in a legendary 'Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown.'
Only one queen will walk away with the title and be enshrined in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 10 premieres May 9 at 9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET exclusively on Paramount+.
Fans can also catch the companion series, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Untucked, debuting the same night. The show offers a backstage look at the queens as they nervously await judgment.

Chappell Roan says, ‘There is no album'

Chappell Roan may be dominating the pop scene with her live performances and breakout singles, but fans hoping for a sophomore album anytime soon are in for a long wait. In a new interview from the set of her 'The Subway' music video, the Midwest Princess singer revealed that her next album doesn't even exist in concept yet. 'There is no album,' she told Vogue. 'There is no collection of songs.' Roan's debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, released in 2023, took five years to create and she expects the second to take just as long. 'I'm not that type of writer that can pump it out,' she explained. 'Even if I was in the studio 12 hours a day, every single day, that does not mean that you would get an album any faster.' Her latest single, 'The Subway,' has been in the works for over a year and was first performed live at Gov Ball in 2024. According to Roan, she held off releasing it because of personal struggles. 'It was just too painful,' she said. 'I was just too angry and scared, just about my life, to put it out.' Now in a more stable headspace, Roan credits part of her growth to stepping away from social media. 'Socials harm the fuck out of me and my art,' she said bluntly. 'The album process is purely, only mine. No one on TikTok gets to see it.' Though Roan faces fan pressure for more music, her refusal to rush the process mirrors recent industry debates, such as the backlash to Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign—where authenticity and intention are at the centre of public conversation. Roan, at least, is staying true to her pace, even if it means silence between singles.

'The Subway' by Chappell Roan trends as fans react with tears and tweets

Chappell Roan has finally dropped the studio version of her powerful breakup ballad 'The Subway,' a song she first performed live at Governors Ball 2024 while dressed as the Statue of Liberty. Produced by Dan Nigro, the track features sparse instrumentation and raw, vulnerable lyrics about heartbreak and emotional entrapment. Roan describes the song as a tribute to 'the hope, heartbreak, and healing' of New York City. It was teased earlier this month and is now available on all major platforms. The official music video is set to premiere at 10 a.m. ET on August 1. Some of the most resonant lines—'Made you the villain, evil for just moving on' and 'I see your shadow. I see it even with the lights off'—have especially struck a chord with fans online. Chappell previously admitted on Las Culturistas that 'The Subway' was the hardest song to finalize in the studio, despite how well it landed live. Her commitment to emotional authenticity is clearly paying off. Fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the release: Chappell Roan via Instagram: 'The Subway OUT NOW!!!! I'm very proud of this song & what a journey she has been on. I first played it at gov ball when I was painted green as lady liberty and in the past have played new songs live to feel them out. That emotional authenticity continues to strike a chord with listeners, solidifying the song's place as a fan favorite.

Chappell Roan teases possible release for anticipated single ‘The Subway'

Chappell Roan may finally be ready to release her long-anticipated single 'The Subway' next week. Fans have spotted promotional posters across New York City hinting at an August 1 drop date. The ads, which feature Roan with bangs, a small rat in her hair, and a bread clip reading 'Best Before August 1,' have led many to believe that the studio version of the ballad will arrive next Friday. The cryptic messaging includes the tagline, 'Going through a break up? Get Bangs!' — further fueling speculation. Chappell Roan's new single 'The Subway' will seemingly be released on August 1st, as hinted at on a new poster. — Pop Base (@PopBase) July 23, 2025 Roan first debuted 'The Subway' live in the summer of 2024 during her Governors Ball performance. Since then, the emotional ballad about unexpectedly seeing an ex on the train has become a staple in her festival sets, including appearances at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and most recently, Primavera Sound in June. Despite its popularity on stage, a studio version has yet to surface. In an April interview on the Las Culturistas podcast, Roan admitted the recording process for 'The Subway' had been challenging. 'Some songs just work live... and they don't work in the studio,' she said, adding that the final version will 'feel different, and different doesn't always mean worse.' She also described struggling with 'demo-itis' — the tendency to become attached to early demo recordings, even when the finished product is technically stronger. Following similar delays with her previous single 'The Giver,' which premiered on Saturday Night Live before its official release months later, fans are hopeful that 'The Subway' will finally arrive on August 1. Roan has not officially confirmed the date, but signs point to new music coming soon.
