Heartwarming scenes as hundreds of Oasis fans gather outside Croke Park to sing
There were heartwarming scenes outside of Croke Park on Sunday night as hundreds of Oasis fans without tickets gathered for a sing-a-long. The surrounding area of Croke Park has been rocking all weekend as 80,000 fans a night travelled from all over for the two sold out shows, with hundreds more sans a pass for the concerts congregating outside to catch a moment of the gig over the loudspeakers. A stunning video shared by Oasis on social media showed a huge crowd gathered outside GAA HQ singing along to Half The World Away just after the sun set over the city, Dublin Live reports. The second sold out show from Oasis brought thousands to Croke Park as the Gallagher brothers busted out some of their most beloved tracks. Cast and Richard Ashcroft didn't disappoint punters as they kicked off the night with back to back bangers. The night ended with a huge fireworks display after the band's last track Champagne Supernova, signalling an end to two days of non stop Oasis mania in the capital. Young Dublin entrepreneur on mission to keep Croke Park hydrated for Oasis
One young entrepreneur has been on a mission to keep Oasis fans hydrated at Croke Park over the run of shows this weekend. In what was the first Oasis concert on Irish soil since 2009, more than 80,000 soaked up the biblical atmosphere in GAA HQ on Saturday, with the Gallaghers appearing to be closer than ever. Mason, helped by his mum Karen and dad Martin, has set up shop on Clonliffe Road where thirsty concertgoers headed to Oasis could buy bottles of water for €1. The young lad started the side hustle a few years back and has since become a well-known face among people passing by Clonliffe Road on match or gig days, Dublin Live reports. His mum Karen said: "It started about four years ago. He seen a couple started to do it so he said he'd give it a go... He's literally taken off. Everyone comes up to him saying 'there's the guy from last time!' "He's delighted with himself. When he's not here they do look for him." Dad Martin said: "People all around the country from matchdays and stuff like that always remember him. They always remember to come up and buy a bottle of water. "It's absolutely great. It's a great community around here, it's brilliant." Mason sold out of water yesterday for the first night of Oasis' mega Croke Park gigs and is hoping to do the same tonight. Last night's show will go down in Irish music history and tonight is expected to bring the same incredible energy.
