Selena Gomez Credited for Making Benny Blanco a 'True' Taylor Swift Fan

Yahoo21-03-2025

It may have taken many years and a well-known singer as his fiance, but record producer and songwriter Benny Blanco is finally embracing being 'Swiftie.'
His new-found overwhelming appreciation of Taylor Swift's work comes thanks to partner Selena Gomez, who he admits played a big role.
Gomez and Blanco sat down with Access Hollywood, and the latter admitted he was "obviously aware" of Swift's music before, but he "wasn't like a true Swiftie" until the duo started dating.
As Blanco explained, the transformation into a full-blown Swiftie has left him "singing Taylor Swift songs from 10 years ago" in the car.
Gomez and Blanco were linked initially in June 2023. Gomez announced that the pair were engaged on December 11, 2024.
Gomez and Blanco are set to release a collaborative album on March 21, titled I Said I Love You First. This will mark Gomez's fourth studio album; three songs have been released thus far.
The first promotional single came out on February 13, titled Scared of Loving You. Two others followed, including Call Me When You Break Up featuring Gracie Abrams (on February 21) and Sunset Blvd (March 14).
Along with her career as a singer, Gomez has also found impressive success as an actress and producer. Most recently, she produced Living Undocumented and 13 Reasons Why. She's held roles in both Wizards of Waverly Place and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, along with Only Murders in the Building, to name a few.

Morgan Wallen's ‘I'm the Problem' Spends Third Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200

Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated June 14) for a third consecutive week, following its debut atop the list dated May 31. It earned 246,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending June 5 (down 14%), according to Luminate. It's the largest third week for an album in over a year, since Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department earned 282,000 in its third frame (May 18, 2024-dated chart). Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, new albums from SEVENTEEN and Miley Cyrus debut, while Swift's chart-topping reputation, released in 2017, returns, zooming 78-5. The latter benefits from an outpouring of fan support following the news that Swift had acquired her Big Machine Records catalog, inclusive of reputation. Miley Cyrus achieves her 15th top 10-charting set on the Billboard 200 as Something Beautiful bows at No. 4. It starts with 44,000 equivalent album units earned. The album was preceded by the Billboard Hot 100-charting song 'End of the World,' which debuted and peaked at No. 52 in April. It also became a top 20 hit on the Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts. Taylor Swift's chart-topping reputation rallies 78-5 with 42,000 equivalent album units earned (up 221%). Nicole Scherzinger Wins Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical After Heated Race

Nicole Scherzinger won the Tony Award for best leading actress in a musical Sunday, after making her Broadway debut portraying Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd. 'Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong. But you all have made me feel like I belong, and I have come home, at last,' Scherzinger said during her emotional acceptance speech. More from The Hollywood Reporter Tony Awards: Complete Winners List Kara Young Becomes First Black Performer to Win a Tony Award Two Years in a Row Cynthia Erivo Gets Support From Oprah, Belts Out "Sometimes All You Need Is a Song" in Tony Awards Opening Scherzinger, who rose to fame as the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, brought the role to Broadway after playing the aging silent film star with delusions of grandeur in London's West End. She won the 2024 Olivier Award for best actress in a musical for her performance across the pond, with both productions directed by Jamie Lloyd. 'Jamie Lloyd you saw in me what know one else did. You gave us all new ways to dream and you've changed my life together,' Scherzinger said in her speech. The leading actress in a musical category was one of the most closely watched races in the industry, with Scherzinger's captivating portrayal of Desmond, and her masterful vocals, which regularly lead to two standing ovations per show, in close contention with McDonald's nuanced portrayal of Rose in Gypsy and powerhouse performance of 'Rose's Turn,' which also brought audiences to their feet. Jennifer Simard and Megan Hilty from Death Becomes Her and Jasmine Amy Rogers from Boop! The Musical were also nominees in the category. Tony voters were weighing Scherzinger's strong Broadway debut against McDonald's long Broadway career and six previous Tonys. Scherzinger also had a moment of controversy early in her run, when she liked and commented on a MAGA-style hat, which read 'Make Jesus First Again,' while McDonald saw a recent surge of community support after facing negative comments from Patti LuPone. Both had been campaigning and participating in numerous media and industry opportunities ahead of the Tony Awards ceremony, including the annual Miscast event, where actors take on parts they would not be cast in, and Scherzinger sang 'I Am What I Am,' an anthem in the gay community, from La Cage Aux Folles. Throughout her run, Scherzinger has also been taking photos still in costume, and covered in blood, with backstage guests and celebrities. The musical, which features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and opened on Broadway in 1994, traditionally featured a grand staircase, and a lot of spectacle around the storyline of a screenwriter who finds himself entranced and entrapped in Desmond's home. In this revival, the stage is bare, but Lloyd uses cameras that often project Norma's face in a large screen over the stage and even follows Joe Gillis, the screenwriter, as he brings the audience backstage, then outside the theater to start the second act. The role of Desmond, which was first popularized on screen, has also been played by Patti LuPone and Glenn Close, who both saw Scherzinger on stage and praised her performance. In addition to playing Norma Desmond in the West End production of Sunset Blvd., Scherzinger appeared as Grizabella in the 2014 West End production of Cats. Scherzinger stars in Sunset Blvd., through July 12, alongside Tom Francis, who was also Tony-nominated for his portrayal of Joe Gillis. How Nicole Scherzinger's Hairstylist Created Her Slicked Updo Inspired by ‘Breakfast at Tiffany's' for the 2025 Tony Awards

Nicole Scherzinger had a triumphant night at the 78th annual Tony Awards on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The musical star took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Norma Desmond in the Broadway hit revival, 'Sunset Blvd.,' and she honored the monumental night with a hairdo equally as memorable. Styled by celebrity hair artist Dimitris Giannetos, Scherzinger's dark tresses were pulled firmly on top of her head in a sophisticated, slicked-back bun. Her ponytail was twisted into a crown, with absolutely no strands left behind. He said: 'I wanted to give Nicole a very sleek, glossy updo and create a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' Audrey Hepburn-inspired vibe.' The multistep process of her completing her look began with Giannetos flat-ironing Scherzinger's hair before using the tool to add a few messy waves to give it 'body.' He used both the Moroccanoil Treatment Original smooth frizz hair oil and the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Extra Strong to lock in the slick back. 'To finish, I sprayed Nicole's hair with Parfums de Marly Valaya Hair Perfume — an elegant floral, musky and woody scent to complement her look. It had all eyes on her and was the perfect finishing touch to her glamorous look,' Giannetos said. Rokael Lizama, makeup artist to both Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Kim Kardashian, was behind the on-stage performer's bronzy visage. Scherzinger's face was contoured and coated in a warm bronzer to match the shimmery sunset shadow on her eyes. Pink, brown and amber melted together on top of her lids with an iridescent white on her brow bone. Meanwhile, her lips were painted in fiery red to match her strapless sequin gown. Lizama used all Revlon ColorStay products. To start, Lizama prepped the actress' face with the Dieux Skin Ethereal Cleaning Oil and the Baptism Gel Cleanser. He then went in with the hydrating Instant Angel Moisturizer and the chilled Forever Eye Mask. In her teary-eyed acceptance speech, Scherzinger thanked the Tony Awards for making 'this little Hawaiian-Ukrainian-Filipino girl's dream come true.' 'Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last. So if there is anyone who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and light more than ever,' she said.
