As an avid reader (and e-reader tester!), I never leave home without an e-reader, and lately, I've been throwing one Kindle model in my bag more often than any of the others in my rotation.
My current e-reader of choice, the Kindle Colorsoft, is $280.
You might be thinking, That's still pretty expensive, right? But let me convince you that the Kindle Colorsoft is 100% worth the splurge, especially when it's $100 off.

The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is essentially a Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, just in color (which might be underplaying it a bit — the color screen is genuinely a game changer). It has the same matte, anti-glare screen, wireless charging capabilities, weeks of battery life, and brightness settings.
Here are two examples of ways color enhances my reading experience.
Angela Tricarico
In the image above, you'll see two of the ways having a Kindle with a color screen has completely enhanced the experience of using an e-reader. I read a lot of nonfiction about film, and I've found being able to highlight text in multiple (up to four) colors has been so helpful when sorting through them later; I highlight text passages and meaningful quotes in one color, and use another to mark any movie title mentioned in a book so I can go back and make a more cohesive list when I've finished the book.
But here's the real draw: comics! The panel on the right may look small, considering the screen itself isn't as big as, say, as a tablet like an iPad, but double-tapping on any panel will activate a zoom mode that lets you read the individual panels with more detail. As a Comixology Unlimited subscriber, this is a game-changer. I don't have to travel with my iPad or worry about killing my phone battery if I want to read comics.

This all-time-low deal is only available for one more day, aka until Prime Day ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on July 11.
Amazon
The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition has a 7-inch screen with 300 ppi resolution in black and white and 150 ppi resolution in color. The matte, anti-glare screen is perfect for reading in any environment, enhanced by the auto-adjusting front light that changes the screen brightness based on your surroundings.

It's one vocal and guitar take from start to finish — one live performance of me and my friend Simon Aldred in a pure state of music and expression,' Smith shared. 'I wrote it five years ago while writing my last album 'Gloria' and then parked it because I knew it was not a song for that album. It was created during a time in my life where I became free within myself.' Form marries function in my fave luggage brand's newest hybrid carry-on

New York Post may be compensated and/or receive an affiliate commission if you click or buy through our links. Featured pricing is subject to change. Carl Friedrik, the cult-favorite (and Post Wanted-favorite) travel brand known for its surgically clean design language and loyal following of frequent flyers, just launched its most technical release to date: the Carry-on X Core edition, a hybrid hard-soft suitcase that splits the difference between the two camps of luggage purists, which was debuted on July 2. If you're already a Carl Friedrik loyalist like I am (I've tested and love their luggage enough to have evangelized it to curious TSA agents), this launch marks an exciting evolution. The Carry-on X is part of the brand's Core collection, a line focused on lightweight mobility and sleek performance. Carl Friedrik Advertisement What makes this new model unique is its softside front pocket, constructed from 100% recycled polyester and merged seamlessly with a hard-shell exterior made from German-engineered Makrolon polycarbonate. Translation? It's flexible where you need it, durable where you demand it. Carl Friedrik Currently available in a matte Black/Black colourway, the Carry-on X offers 42 litres of capacity, an elevated brushed interior, and Carl Friedrik's signature eye for elegance. It's a statement piece that doesn't scream, designed for the traveler who prefers whispers of luxury over logos. The front panel unzips to reveal a structured, travel-smart layout — including a dedicated 16' laptop sleeve and clever lever-access tech that lets you slide out electronics without rummaging. Add in the 360-degree Hinomoto spinner wheels, dual-zip combination locks, and vegetable-tanned leather accents, and you've got the kind of suitcase that feels as considered as your itinerary. Carl Friedrik Co-founder Mattis Oppermann notes, 'Over half of global luggage sales are softside, and travellers are parochial about their choices. Our new suitcase caters to both sides of the divide.'
