Former Bills CB Ronald Darby retires from the NFL Former Buffalo Bills cornerback Ronald Darby is hanging up the cleats after 10 seasons in the NFL. The 31-year-old product of Florida State retired, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. A second-round pick by the Bills in 2015, Darby was an important piece to the Bills defense in the Rex Ryan era. He started 29 games across 2015 and 2016, intercepting two passes and recording 33 PBUs. Darby finished second in defensive rookie of the year voting following the 2015 season where he thrived in Ryan's man-heavy approach. In his first career NFL game, he intercepted Colts four-time Pro Bowler Andrew Luck: When the Sean McDermott regime took over in Buffalo prior to the 2017 season, they cleaned house, trading Darby to the Eagles for wide receiver Jordan Matthews. They also traded WR Sammy Watkins to the Rams that day. Darby won the Super Bowl as a starting cornerback in his first year in Philadelphia (SB LII) while playing every snap in the big game. Impressively, Darby started 78 more games in his career after leaving the Bills, playing for five more teams over eight seasons. He joined the Houston Texans this offseason on a one-year deal in free agency, but decided to retire before playing for his seventh career team. He retires with eight career interceptions, 447 tackles, and a Super Bowl win across a decade as a pro. In retrospect, a solid draft pick by Bills general manager Doug Whaley in 2015. Known as a man-to-man corner, maybe Darby would have stuck around in Buffalo had that fit what McDermott was trying to do with his defense.

DeAndre Hopkins has already won over Zay Flowers with early impression Zay Flowers offers an elite compliment to new ravens teammate DeAndre Hopkins. Only in Charm City can a wide receiver be as talented as Zay Flowers and be treated like he's just another guy. It's almost offensive when you think about it. A two-time First-Team All-ACC nod, his skill set translated nicely to the professional level. He hasn't disappointed since the Baltimore Ravens invested the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to acquire him. Simply put, they hit the jackpot, and they know it. He's a five-foot-nine, 175-pounder who plays the game like he's Derrick Henry's size (a six-foot-three, 247-pound battering ram). If Zay continues on the path he is on, he's going to be nestled in conversations about the elite regularly, despite being ignored frequently by the national media. As the saying goes, you can't keep a good wide receiver down for long. Okay, maybe that isn't the way that phrase is stated, but it should be. Zay is on his way, and now, he has a seasoned veteran to pattern some of his game after. DeAndre Hopkins makes yet another unforgettable Ravens impression. Flowers tallied 77 receptions for 585 yards and reached the end zone five times as a rookie. Then, during the 2024-25 regular season, he topped the 1,000-yard plateau on three fewer catches. Four more trips to the end zone and his first Pro Bowl nod were added to his resume last season. The Pro Bowl roster is an area DeAndre Hopkins has visited often. He has earned five since entering the league in 2013, but he hasn't received that recognition since 2020. Now, after bouncing on and off three rosters since 2020, he's looking to reinvigorate his career with Baltimore. Early indications suggest he may be able to do it. He's found the fountain of youth at Ravens OTAs, playing with a speed and swagger we haven't seen in a while. His energy has been infectious, and he's made quite the impression on Zay Flowers, who enters his third NFL season. Stockpiling the Ravens' cupboard with veteran receivers isn't anything new. Think Steve Smith, Odell Beckham Jr., and now, the man known in Clemson, South Carolina, as 'Nuk Hopkins'. Flowers will learn a lot from DeAndre. Together, they'll create quite the tandem. Teamed with Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Mark Andrews, and Isaiah Likely, this could be a potent offense when they gel and put everything together. Zay recently expressed his goals for the coming season. Yeah... He has the right mindset. He'll be fine. Don't worry about the lack of national attention. The accolades and continued success will come. Think of it this way. Sometimes, that's a byproduct of being an organization known for being home to some of the best defenders of all time. Sometimes, that's a byproduct of teaming with a guy called 'The King' and another named 'Action Jackson'.

UEFA monitoring storms which could affect Germany-Portugal semifinal in Nations League
MUNICH (AP) — UEFA says the Nations League semifinal between Germany and Portugal is still scheduled to go ahead Wednesday despite warnings of possible storms in Munich. European soccer's governing body said it 'continues to monitor the meteorological situation closely along with the relevant local authorities' and recommended that fans heading to the game should allow for extra travel time and dress appropriately. 'The match is planned to go ahead as scheduled and any updates will be communicated to ticket holders directly,' UEFA said. The German national team's account on X issued a similar warning to fans to allow plenty of time for travel to the stadium and to bring raincoats, ponchos or small umbrellas because of the risk of 'adverse weather conditions.' Germany's national weather service has warned of the risk of storms, high winds and hail late Wednesday in the state of Bavaria, where Munich is the capital.
