Dak Prescott opened up about becoming a father for the second time following the Dallas Cowboys' final minicamp session Thursday — and his words hit home.
"I'm blessed. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to raise two girls alongside my fiancée, to have a beautiful family, a healthy family," Prescott said from inside The Star. "For me, it's just about being grateful and not taking a moment for granted when I'm with them."
He continued, speaking not just as a quarterback, but as a man who's endured loss, grief, and adversity.
'I understand the love my mom had for me in a different way now that I have kids,'' he said. "When you've had some of the adversity I've had, you're so thankful — for everything. The good, the bad, anything in between … it just makes me even more focused on the small moments.'
Dak's mother Peggy died from colon cancer in 2013. His brother Jace, died by suicide earlier in 2020. And so yes ... the small moments matter.
Dak and Sarah Jane Ramos are now the parents of two baby girls, Margaret Jane "MJ'' Rose and their newborn, Aurora Rayne. ... and the "girl dad'' can't stop grinning when he talks of them.
As a fellow father of two, I can relate deeply. Kids change your perspective in ways no career milestone ever could. You start seeing life through their eyes — where everything feels new again. Ordinary moments become joy-filled. Small things become big.

In the WNBA, a player's first three technical fouls each result in a $200 fine. The next three (4-6) result in a $400 fine each. And seven or more technicals will end with a $800 charge. However, the WNBA changed the technical foul rules around this season, likely due to the increase in scheduled games from 40 to 44. In recent seasons, a seventh tech would also lead to a suspension. However, this year, they increased that number to eight. However, Clark may be used to paying some of these fines.
