Dell Rapids veteran is back home from the Super Bowl
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A mother and daughter from Dell Rapids are back home tonight after experiencing a trip of a lifetime; the Super Bowl.
Kim Hubers and her daughter Aubrey spent three days in New Orleans as special guests of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who paid for their entire trip — including two tickets to the big game.

'I haven't even come down from it yet, I've only been home for like 15 hours,' Kim Hubers said. Kim Hubers is still on a Super Bowl high. 'It was amazing, it was really, really, really good,' Hubers said. Hubers got back home late last night and is still looking at all the pictures and videos she took while in New Orleans.One of the best parts was meeting Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson at the convention center prior to the big game during a meet and greet. She was wearing his Salute to Service jersey.'I don't remember seeing him right away, I just remember a great big bear hug and I watched the video later and saw him come in and thought that's really cool I forgot about,' Hubers said. Hubers says he couldn't have been any nicer. 'Oh my gosh, he was just sweet, genuine, warm human being, I mean absolutely phenomenal guy,' Hubers said. As his special guest, Hubers and her daughter got to sit in one of the suites in the Caesars Super Dome above the Chiefs' endzone. She was also given a backpack full of Super Bowl memorabilia, including the shirt she's wearing today. Hubers says the halftime performance by Kendrick Lamar was amazing and she says as a veteran she always gets emotional during the national anthem. Hubers says she loved every minute of the entire trip and the fans were great. 'But there were no fights, everybody there was just, it was just like going to a game here in Sioux Falls; everybody was well behaved, respectful, they were just normal people, it was just a good fun experience,' Hubers said.
Hubers is the state commander of the DAV here in Sioux Falls and presented Jefferson with her service coin.

ICE says it detained TikTok's top star, Khaby Lame, who then left the US
Lame, an Italian-Senegalese creator with around 160 million followers on TikTok, had overstayed the terms of his visa after entering the US on April 30, the spokesperson said. He was briefly detained at Las Vegas's Harry Reid International Airport before being granted voluntary departure. He's since left the country, they said. A representative for Lame declined to comment. The 25-year-old creator became TikTok's most-followed star in 2022 after developing a signature comedic style of silent reactions to social-media absurdities. The creator leveraged his TikTok audience into a business that BI previously reported had grossed $16.5 million in 2023 from brand deals alone. After gaining internet fame, Lame broke into other parts of media, attending this year's Met Gala and building a collection with the clothing brand Hugo Boss. Lame has also partnered with brands like Google, State Farm, and Pepsi, which worked with the creator in a marketing push tied to the 2024 Super Bowl. He's appeared as a character in the video game "Fortnite," and previously said that much of his brand work is in the US. "I don't think I have a single sponsor in Italy," Lame told BI last year. The main thing keeping him in Italy is family, he said.

Jarrian Jones, the Jaguars player Saquon Barkley hurdled, reacts to 'Madden 26' cover: 'I don't give a damn'
When you're on the wrong end of a legendary sports play, it can be hard to shake that reputation. Leon Lett is remembered for his Super Bowl fumble, Earnest Byner is known for causing "The Drive," and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones will be immortalized for being the victim of Saquon Barkley's backward hurdle. Jones isn't a household name on the same level as Lett or Byner just yet, but it could just be a matter of time after that play was featured on the "Madden 26" cover. The video game cover art features Barkley hurdling a defender in a clear homage to that play. It's not an actual photo of the play, so Jones isn't featured on the cover, but it's a constant reminder of one of his most embarrassing moments on an NFL field. Advertisement That's not how Jones views it, though. Jones was asked about the "Madden 26" cover during minicamp Tuesday and gave a refreshing answer. Jones opted to praise Barkley for making an awesome play. Jones added he would happily be featured on the cover if it meant he got some money from EA Sports. Video contains some NSFW language. "I seen it and I was like 'damn, they didn't put my number on there?'" Jones continued, "The play was fire, to me. Everybody DM'd me like I was going to be mad or something. I don't give a damn. He made a good play. It is what it is." That's a good perspective from Jones, who is aiming to improve after a solid rookie season in 2024. Jones, a third round pick by the Jaguars in the 2024 NFL Draft, racked up 40 combined tackles, two sacks and an interception as a rookie. Bigger things are expected from Jones this season. After starting four games as a rookie, Jones could see a much bigger workload in Year 2. While he might never fully shake being the player Barkley hurdled, he has plenty of opportunities to post excellent highlights of his own if he can keep building on an encouraging rookie season.
