Alan Tudyk Says He Was Cut From I, ROBOT Marketing After Testing Better Than Will Smith in Test Screenings — GeekTyrant

Alan Tudyk just revealed a wild behind the scenes story from his time on the 2004 sci-fi blockbuster I, Robot , and it explains why so many people still don't know he was in it. Appearing on the Toon'd In with Jim Cummings podcast, Tudyk said he was dropped from the film's marketing campaign after test screenings showed he was scoring higher with audiences than the movie's leading man, Will Smith. Tudyk brought the robot Sonny to life through motion capture and voice work, but after the studio saw the test results, he claims they decided to make his involvement… vanish. 'A lot of people did not know I did Sonny the Robot in I, Robot , and there is a reason. They were doing test audiences for the movie, and they score the characters in this kind of test screening. 'I got word back: 'Alan, you are testing higher than Will Smith.' And then I was gone. I was done. There was no publicity, and my name was not mentioned.' The actor admitted the move blindsided him. 'I was so shocked. I was like, 'Wait, nobody is going to know I'm in it!' I put a lot into [that performance]. I had to move like a robot. At the time, I was very upset.' He totally has a right to be upset over that! What a crappy thing for the studio to do to an actor! I, Robot was directed by Alex Proyasand is set in 2035, it follows Smith's Chicago detective investigating the suspicious death of a robotics company founder. While society's highly intelligent robots are meant to serve humanity, Smith's character suspects one of them, Sonny, of murder. The cast also featured Bridget Moynahan, Bruce Greenwood, James Cromwell, and Chi McBride. Back in 2004, motion capture was still a relatively fresh tool in Hollywood. Aside from characters like Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars and Gollum in The Lord of the Rings , audiences hadn't seen much of it. Tudyk's work as Sonny helped push that technology forward, and he later became a fan favorite as the sarcastic droid K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and its Disney+ prequel series Andor . It's been over 20 years since I, Robot hit theaters, but for many fans, this might be the first time they're realizing Sonny's soul came from Alan Tudyk. Turns out, the reason they didn't know… was by design. I mean, you can't have Tudyk being better than Will Smith! Sheesh. That movie would've been so much better without Smith.

Pusha T Reacts To Hunter Biden's Explanation Of Cocaine Vs Crack

One of the first things people come up with when discussing Pusha T is selling or rapping about cocaine. Thus, it came as no surprise that he was drawn to Hunter Biden's explanation on the difference between cocaine and crack. The former President's son appeared on Channel 5 this week and explained the distinction between the drugs. 'The only difference between crack cocaine and cocaine is sodium bicarbonate and water and heat,' he said, before admitting he didn't want to rile himself up after previously experiencing crack addiction. 'I feel really reluctant to kind of have some euphoric discussion. I know you're not asking me to do that… I'm saying, I don't want to have the experience of some euphoric recall. That's how powerful crack cocaine is.' He continued, explaining crack's effects and comparing it to liquor. 'Does crack cocaine make you act any differently? No. Is it safer than alcohol? Probably,' he added. 'People think of crack being dirty. It's the exact opposite. When you make crack, what you're doing is you're burning off all the impurities so that it combines with the sodium bicarbonate which makes it smokable. That's all.' Biden closed by calling his explanation a PSA. 'If you want to completely utterly f**k up your life,' he said. 'You know, I don't think that anything is necessarily, 'Oh, you do it once, you're addicted,' but there's…about the closest thing that statement could be true would [for] be with crack cocaine.' King Push caught wind of the explanation via X, quoted the tweet, and wrote 'Deep…' Of course, his entire career has been centered on luxury drug rap, so this type of in-depth explanation from someone else would draw him in. The Virginia rapper recently had words for those who felt like he and his brother Malice, who together form Clipse, only rap about drugs. 'Rap has always come from a real place,' he said during an interview on Joe & Jada. 'At this point, I liken it to somebody that likes mob movies. I don't watch horror, I watch A&E it's scarier, I believe it. You can't please everybody. Twenty-three years in this? I'm not tryna please nobody but myself. That's what I care about.' Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding Recipe Is Bliss in a Bowl

is the editor of Eater at Home. Her areas of expertise include home cooking and popular culture. Although Magnolia Bakery is mostly synonymous with cupcakes in the public imagination — thanks, of course, to a fateful (and lucrative) Season 3 episode of Sex and the City — its banana pudding has also inspired its own share of fandom. Back in 2005, the dessert was largely overshadowed by the bakery's cupcakes, but the true believers knew, and kept coming, lured by the astoundingly rich layers of pudding interspersed with Nilla wafers, sliced bananas, and whipped cream. The recipe itself is fairly basic, a near copy of the one found on the Jell-O pudding box; the crucial difference is that Magnolia adds sweetened condensed milk to the pudding mix, supercharging it into a delight that borders on the obscene. It's easy to make, and hard to resist. The best way to eat it, incidentally, is by the vat. Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding Recipe Ingredients: 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1½ cups (360 grams/12.7 ounces) ice-cold water 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix (preferably Jell-O brand) 3 cups (720 grams/25.5 ounces) heavy cream 1 (11-ounce) box Nilla wafers 4 to 5 ripe bananas, sliced Instructions: Step 1: In a stand mixer with the whisk, beat the condensed milk and water on medium speed until well combined, about 1 minute. Add the pudding mix and beat until there are no lumps and the mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl, cover and refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour or overnight. Step 2: In a stand mixer with the whisk, whip the heavy cream on medium speed for about 1 minute, until the cream starts to thicken, then increase the speed to medium-high and whip until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip. Step 3: With the mixer running on low speed, add the pudding mixture a spoonful at a time. Mix until well blended and no streaks of pudding remain. Step 4: To assemble, select a trifle bowl or a wide glass bowl with a 4- to 5-quart capacity, or individual serving bowls. Saving 4 to 5 cookies for the garnish on top, begin assembly. Spread one-quarter of the pudding over the bottom and layer with one-third of the cookies and one-third of the sliced bananas (enough to cover the layer). Repeat the layering twice more. End with a final layer of pudding. Garnish the top with additional cookies or cookie crumbs. Step 5: Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours. Cookies should be tender when poked with a knife. This dessert is best served within 12 hours of assembling.
