Feast Your Eyes on the Lavish Backdrops of ‘Ne Zha 2'
Ne Zha 2 has already carved out its place in animation history—this year alone, it shattered records to become the highest-grossing animated film as well as the eighth-highest-grossing film, full stop, of all time. Its reputation now precedes it as a global phenomenon, and with that momentum, A24 is set to debut the film's English-language release—featuring Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh and anime favorite Aleks Le—in theaters and IMAX on August 22. But before the premiere, we're unveiling exclusive background art that offers a glimpse into the film's mythic, meticulously crafted world. The first Ne Zha film, released in 2020, is a story that blends elements of Chinese mythology with Buddhist, Confucian, and Daoist influences. It follows Ne Zha (voiced by Crystal Lee), who is the reincarnation of an evil demon orb born to two human parents, Lady Yin (played by Michelle Yeoh) and Li Jing (portrayed by Vincent Rodriguez III). In the first film, available to watch on Peacock, Ne Zha manages to overcome a prophecy that foretold his destruction of the world. His journey is aided by his nurturing parents, spiritual guidance from Master Taiyi (Rick Zieff), and his growing friendship with Ao Bing (voiced by Le), another child of prophecy tied to his own, who shares a dragon heritage that was once fated to be the cause of eternal enmity. Ne Zha 2 sees the boys contend with the wrath of Ao Bing's dragon father, Ao Guang (Christopher Swindle), his aunts and uncles, and his former teacher Shen Gongbao (Daniel Riordan). Meanwhile, Ne Zha is tasked with defending his hometown, Chentang Pass, while facing a series of heavenly trials full of mystical kung fu action and dazzling animation. Keep an eye out for io9's forthcoming review of the film. In the meantime, sit back, relax, and have a gander at some of the background art for Ne Zha 2. Taylor Swift Breaks Donald Trump's Record For Most Podcast Views In An Hour
We're sure there will be bad blood. Taylor Swift has broken a record previously held by President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, the Grammy winner appeared on the New Heights podcast hand-in-hand with her boyfriend and co-host Travis Kelce, as his older brother, Jason Kelce, interviewed Swift for a little over two hours. The Daily Beast reports that 1.3 million viewers tuned to watch the podcast episode on YouTube within the first hour that it was online. The outlet notes that reps for the 'Shake It Off' singer confirmed the number. The figure trumps the record previously held by Trump. His appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience in Oct. 2024 saw 800,000 people tune in within the first hour, according to CNN data analyst Harry Enten. CNN host Kate Bolduan also noted Wednesday the episode is 'already on track to become one of the most watched podcasts of all time.' Trump will likely be pretty peeved about Swift mopping him up. The president expressed hostility towards the 'Blank Space' singer after she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in the build-up to the 2024 presidential election. Big Event Media / Getty Images 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' he wrote in all caps on his Truth Social platform at the time. A real post from Trump's Truth Social account: 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT' — philip lewis (@Phil_Lewis_) September 15, 2024 @Phil_Lewis_/X/@realDonaldTrump/TruthSocial / Via We suppose that at least 1.3 million people think otherwise.

Watch: Stray Kids enter arena in 'Ceremony' music video teaser
Aug. 15 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band Stray Kids is teasing a new music video, which will accompany the release of its upcoming album, titled Karma. The new music follows the K-pop group's debut mixtape, Hop, which dropped in December. A music video teaser released Friday for the song "Ceremony" indicates the members of Stray Kids will compete in various sports, as they seen entering an arena. In a trailer for the album, an apparent newscaster says, "The global sporting event that returns every year -- The 2081 Karma Sports Event... is known to have eight players participating. Will they be able to break the past records?" He appears to be referring to the band members -- Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N. The album arrives Aug. 22 and will contain the songs "Bleep," "Ceremony," "Creed," "Mess," "In My Head," "Half Time," "Phoenix," "Ghost," "0801" and a festival version of "Ceremony." The music video for "Ceremony" will also drop that day.
