British Consul General Cecille El Beleidi met with members of the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss strengthening cooperation in the economic and tourism sectors. The meeting, held at the Abha Chamber headquarters, was part of El Beleidi's wider tour of the Aseer Region, aimed at evaluating its economic and tourism landscape and shaping strategic plans to enhance Aseer's appeal for international tourism investments.
During the discussions, the depth of economic ties between the UK and Saudi Arabia was emphasized. By 2022, Saudi investments in the UK had reached SAR 40 billion, while British foreign direct investment in Saudi Arabia totaled SAR 18 billion by 2023. More than 60 British companies have set up regional headquarters in the Kingdom, employing around 30,000 British nationals within Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, reviewed the readiness of the Special Emergency Forces participating in this year's Hajj security operations. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he received a briefing from Lt. Gen. Mohammed bin Maqbool Al-Omari, commander of the Special Emergency Forces, who detailed the force's role in crowd control and the organized stoning ritual at the Jamarat site, as well as their broader mission in maintaining order and ensuring the safety of pilgrims. WASHINGTON — Vladimir Putin has said he will have to respond to Ukraine's major drone attack on Russian airbases, US President Donald Trump has warned.
