Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh is currently making headlines, apart from being surrounded by the controversy linked to the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. Well, the 41-year-old singer is now a part of Canadian university curriculum coursework, as prescribed by the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). The news has left fans discussing whether it is the right decision.
According to News18, this course will be offered through The Creative School and will highlight his impact on the cultural, music and diasporic relevance. The course was announced at the Billboard Summit at NXNE in Toronto, which will start in 2026.
The report quoted Dr Charlie Wall-Andrews, Assistant Professor at The Creative School at TMU, who said, "Toronto Metropolitan University is excited to pioneer a course on Diljit Dosanjh, whose journey embodies the intersection of culture, identity and global music entrepreneurship."

According to Dr Andrews, Diljit's rise highlights the global cultural impact and economic power of Punjabi music.
Through studying his influence, students will examine how local musical traditions influence international pop culture, unite diaspora communities, and support creative economies built on authenticity.
Notably, this news came at a time when Diljit Dosanjh has been facing major backlash and boycott calls in India for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his next movie. However, Diljit has not reacted to the controversy yet, but he recently spoke to Grammy with Recording Academy President Panos A.
Fans react to Diljit Dosanjh's course at Toronto Metropolitan University
As soon as the news surfaced on social media, it quickly grabbed the attention of fans, who are thrilled as Toronto Metropolitan University announces a course on Diljit Dosanjh, calling it a massive win for Punjabi culture.
However, for some, it did not sit well, especially after the Hania Aamir controversy, and some even trolled the singer. One said, "I heard Monmouth University in New Jersey lets you do a PhD in Batman. I'd do it just for the flex if I had the time. And because I'm a huge bat-freak."
"His own state was being attacked, and our sacred golden temple was on their radar and this guy just for some views is doing a movie with a pakistani girl ? Course mein Desh drohi ka bhi ek chapter chipka Dena Phir aur bolna khud aa kar padhaye ! People in US , UK felt bad for the Pahalgam victims and Diljit's favourite Hania called our Indian army "Coward" aur isko dekho ??? Hope he is banned from Punjabi cinema and Bollywood! Neeru is a Canadian so expected this but him seriously??," another added.
One joked, "Bhot bada course hai . Agar kar liya toh life set ho jaayegi 😂😂😂" (It's a really big course. If I complete it, my life will be set)
"Good lord where is this world heading," one said.
While one defended him, "Dude thats a normal thing. What are you guys on? Why everyone bashing this?"
"Its a university level course. Bro not everything is limited about the few fields that are taught in Punjab schools. There are different things like Sociology, music and culture. This course will focus on music, culture and diaspora. So, there will be a little of statistics, research and cultural influences. And it will exploration of punjabi music as well in the global scenes and how regional music can be global."
"What they gonna teach about him?," one asked.
"Bruh these cad university want that indian money so bad, lmao nobody is falling for this as they have ultimately stopped and reduced their immigration stuff. But there will be some tards thay will enroll 😭😭"

Has Karrion Kross been released by the WWE? Explaining the controversy surrounding his status with the promotion

Karrion Kross on August 11 confirmed that he is no longer with the WWE and added that he will soon be taking independent booking. Scarlett, his wife and manager, too has apparently been let go by the company. While this seems to be legit, there may be more to the situation. Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer has stated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that everyone backstage is 'skeptical' about whether this is a shoot. This suggests that the whole thing may just be work. He had also earlier stated that WWE offered Kross and Scarlett contracts ahead of the end of their current deals. This has further added to the mystery surrounding their status. Karrion Kross released: Is it a work? WWE, like most pro wrestling companies, is a storyline-driven product. In fact, the whole business thrives on Kayfabe (making things that aren't real look real). Keeping this in mind, the scenario may just be WWE's way of testing his popularity and bringing him back when the time is right. If this happens, the angle may have shades of the recent fiasco involving R-Truth. In case you did not know, 'Ronnie' was released by the WWE a few months ago. He, however, returned at Money in the Bank and helped Cody Rhodes-Jey Uso beat Logan Paul and John Cena. This came after the company faced intense backlash from fans. Triple H, the head of WWE's creative team, described it as a work, but Truth maintained it wasn't. Going down this route would help the company bring him back as a face and give him a push. Karrion Kross to return as a heel? The WWE in recent years has constantly tried to blur the line between reality and storyline. The injury angle with Seth Rollins is a case in point. 'The Visionary' lost his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event after 'injuring' his knee. This was described as a legitimate setback and Rollins was even seen on crutches backstage during Evolution. However, it was eventually revealed that he wasn't injured. The injury was part of a storyline and he returned at SummerSlam Night 1 to cash-in his MITB contract on a vulnerable CM Punk. This again suggests that the Karrion Kross contract situation may just be another angle. In this case, he could return as a heel and target some popular stars. Karrion Kross' rise in the WWE is undeniable Kross had emerged as a bankable mid-card heel over the last few months courtesy of his mic skills. His segments with AJ Styles and Sami Zayn were well-received. He also received a push when he squared off against the Canadian star at Night of Champions and SummerSlam, losing on both occasions. His stint with the WWE is seemingly over for now but the company's track record suggests that there may be a twist in the tale.
