Glasgow ranked as second funniest city in UK
The city was only just beaten by Liverpool, which was crowned the funniest city in the UK in a new data-led study.
The research, carried out by USDT Casino, analysed over 10,000 public comments and reviews mentioning comedians, live shows, and funny content.

The data was then broken down by reviewer location in order to pinpoint where in the UK laughter flows most freely.
Liverpool topped the list, with nearly four in 10 reviews from Scousers featuring outright laughter-related phrases, making it the unofficial capital of comedy appreciation.
Glasgow followed closely behind, with 34 per cent of reviews containing humour-related terms, securing its place as the second funniest city in the UK.
Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol rounded out the top five, with 31 per cent, 27 per cent, and 25 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh, despite its global comedy festival, just missed out on the top five.
The data indicated a clear northern bias, with the majority of the top five cities located above the Midlands.
In contrast, reviewers from London were less likely to describe content as "hilarious," tending to lean more towards terms like "clever" and "witty."
As well as the city breakdown, the study also ranked Britain's most beloved comedians using a "Funny Score" system determined by how often humour-related phrases appeared in public reviews.
James Acaster came out on top thanks to glowing praise under his Netflix specials and podcast appearances, with fans calling him "the funniest person alive."
Just below James was Mo Gilligan, who dominated in live show reviews, with phrases like "belly-laugh inducing" and "couldn't stop laughing" helping boost his score.

Jim Rose, spokesperson at USDT Casino, said: "We wanted to find out which parts of the UK are actually laughing the most, and Liverpool ran away with it.
"Whether it's the Scouse sense of humour or the love of stand-up, it's clearly a city that knows how to enjoy a proper belly-laugh.
"We always hear about Britain's top comedians, but this data also shows where the fans are, and who's making them laugh the hardest."

Jack hatched alongside brother Victor in the spring at the nest of proud parents Bonnie and Clyde. The stunning raptors were being closely monitored by a the Glasgow Peregrine Project. The duo inspired by the Craiglang favourites captured the attention of birdwatchers and the public with regular updates being shared on social media - with a series of cameras around the University campus capturing the action. This week Jack and Victor were all set to spread their wings with a series of attempts to spread their wings. But whilst Victor attempted his first fledgling concerns began to grow over Jack. The project shared a series of worrying updates earlier in the week. On Wednesday morning they shared that Jack was "seriously unwell". A rescue mission was launched that day which involved a member wincing themselves to a lower ledge on the tower. Jack was taken into the care of the Scottish SPCA but after assessing him he was deemed likely to have contracted bird flu. Vets were forced to put him down to "ease his suffering". In a statement. Glasgow Peregrine Project said: "It is with sadness that we must report that after pulling out all the stops and effecting a rescue, Jack has passed away. "The UoG and all the Project team have monitored him through the night and worked throughout the day to put the rescue plan in place. Work that would ordinarily be done in a month was done in a day to expedite Jack's care. "The SSPCA assessed Jack and deemed that he had likely contracted Bird Flu and sadly, had to put him down to ease his suffering. A video was posted showing the daring rescue with a member of the project hanging over the hedge of the tower and being carefully lowered down. He was spotted wearing full protective gear and a mask. The project say the rest of the birds will be "closely monitored". They added: "Given this circumstance, we will continue round the clock monitoring of the entire family. Your sightings and any significant observations would be greatly appreciated." Tributes poured in for Jack with well-wishers taking to the Facebook post to express their condolences. "Was in the West quad for an hour or so this evening (after Jack was taken away) and Mum, Dad and Victor were all high up on the spire. Parents were trying to encourage Victor to fly, which he did eventually - a small circle round, high above the quad then back to the spire. "They all seem fine as far as I could tell, Mum was giving out a lot of distress cries after Jack was taken away - which is normal I would expect. Here's hoping they are all well and remain so." The Scottish SPCA said; "The Scottish SPCA was contacted by the project team with concerns about the falcon's health. Following a thorough assessment and consultation with our experts at the National Wildlife Rescue Centre, it was determined that, to prevent further suffering, the only humane option was to carry out euthanasia. "This decision was not taken lightly and was made in the best interest of the bird's welfare."

Line-up unveiled for crime writing festival with guest programmer Sir Ian Rankin
The Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival schedule unveiled on Thursday also features Horrible Histories author Terry Deary, doctor turned comedian Adam Kay and broadcasters Steph McGovern, Jeremy Vine and The Rev Richard Coles. Sir Ian, creator of the detective John Rebus, is the first guest programmer for the festival, which takes place in Stirling in September. In a nod to the police officer, the programme also includes James McPherson who made his name in Taggart and narrates the Rebus audiobooks, and former Coronation Street star Gray O'Brien, who recently played Rebus on stage. The festival will take place in Stirling (Andrew Milligan/PA) Scottish writers on the line-up include Chris Brookmyre (with Marisa Haetzman as Ambrose Parry), Denise Mina, Graeme Macrae Burnet, Alex Gray, Lin Anderson and Judy Murray. Festival director Bob McDevitt said: 'It has been an absolute joy working with the legendary Sir Ian Rankin on this year's programme and I think he has helped to deliver one of our strongest-ever line-ups. 'There are so many treats in store for our audiences this year, from established names writing at the very top of their game to brand new voices bringing a different perspective to the crime genre – roll on September.' Others appearing include actor Joey Batey who was in The Witcher on Netflix, Chris Chibnall, creator and writer of Broadchurch, and American crime writer Laura Lippman who will be on stage with Mark Billingham. Judy Murray is among those appearing (John Linton/PA) Fringe events at the festival this year will include a 'Day of the Deid' procession led by Sir Ian and the winners of the two prizes, and Sir Ian's Whisky Night with songs from James Yorkston and Colin MacIntyre. Alan Bett, head of literature and publishing at Creative Scotland said: 'Bloody Scotland brings the big names of crime writing to Stirling each year, and 2025 offers an incredible list of authors, enhanced by Ian Rankin's role as guest programmer. 'Of huge importance is the platforming of emergent writers. Bloody Scotland provides new Scottish authors the opportunity to launch their careers and build readerships, and for Scotland's fans of crime fiction, the chance to find their next favourite book.' The festival takes place in various venues including the Albert Halls, Trinity Church, Central Library and The Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling from September 12-14. Sir Ian previously said: 'Bloody Scotland manages to remain the world's friendliest and most inclusive crime fiction festival while also attracting the biggest and brightest names in the business to the city of Stirling.
