Lady Gaga leads 2025 MTV Video Music Awards nominations
Lady Gaga leads this year's nominees with 12, including nominations in the video of the year, artist of the year and best album categories.
She is followed by Bruno Mars with 11; Kendrick Lamar with 10; and ROSÉ and Sabrina Carpenter, tied with eight each.
It marks the third time the 'Abracadabra' singer and 'House of Gucci' actress has led VMA nominations, having previously done it in 2010 with 13 nods and in 2020 when she tied with nine.
This year, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd have seven nominations each; Billie Eilish has six; Charli XCX scored five nods and Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae tied with four each.
Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, who are both nominated for artist of the year, are once again vying for the title of the most VMA wins ever.
The show has also added the best country and best pop artist categories.

The Hobby riding high after record sales online, at The National
Morning, Collectors. The Mantel team is still coming down from The National high — last week's convention was the best sports card and memorabilia show, maybe ever? It was certainly the best-attended. Organizers announced that the show saw double-digit growth from last year's event, which welcomed more than 100K attendees. Brands and sellers raised the standard with better booths and entertainment, the autograph pavilion was packed with A-list names, the A/C worked and Wifi was actually half-way decent! With the show set to be back in Rosemont next year and the year following, The National re-cemented itself as a can't-miss event for sports collectors. The Mantel team had a blast meeting so many from our community in person. Thanks to all who stopped by to say hi, ripped Mantel x VibesTCG packs, hit up Trade Night and Mantel Bingo and more. It was a week to remember. SI Collects: Logan Paul and Ken Goldin Team Up for Historical Online Break On Tuesday, Ken Goldin and Logan Paul came together for an eBay Live stream where they broke $10M in product, including boxes of 2009 Topps Basketball, 1980 Topps Basketball, 1985 Topps WWF and 1960 Topps Baseball. The duo hit some pretty massive cards, including multiple of the Magic Johnson/Larry Bird (w/ Dr. J) rookie card, and a ton of Hulk Hogan rookies. That figure surpasses June's $306M and March's $303M, with eBay accounting for the lion's share at $266M. The DOJ says Perez, a former Miami PD officer and trusted staffer, accessed the team's secure equipment room over several years, selling items online and raking in around $2M. Sinestro Actor Ulrich Thomsen Wraps Filming on LANTERNS, Shares Hopeful Farewell — GeekTyrant
DC Studios' Lanterns is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated projects in the revamped DCU, and things are moving along behind the scenes. Ulrich Thomsen, who plays the iconic villain Sinestro, has officially wrapped filming his scenes for the upcoming HBO Max series. Thomsen revealed the news via Instagram, sharing a short but heartfelt message that suggests this might not be the last time we see him with a yellow ring. 'Bye for now #sinestro I'll keep one side for later. Hope too see you again,' he wrote. Lanterns , which began production back in February 2025, will center on Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Kyle Chandler steps into the role of Hal, while Aaron Pierre brings John to life. The story dives into a dark mystery on Earth that entangles both Lanterns as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Film Hits Help Warner Bros. Swing to Profit as Company Restructures
Warner Bros. Discovery Inc., the parent of HBO and CNN, swung to a profit in the second quarter, buoyed by a string of successes at the box office. The New York-based company posted revenue of 9.81 billion, up 1% from a year ago, in line with Wall Street's estimate. Warner Bros. reported net income of $1.58 billion, compared with a loss of $9.99 billion a year earlier.
