Liam Payne's Sister Shares Heartbreaking Reaction To Seeing His Final TV Appearance
The sister of late singer Liam Payne is sharing her grief as the release of her brother's final television project draws near.
Payne will appear as a celebrity judge on Netflix's 'Building the Band,' set for release July 9. The former One Direction member is joined on the musical competition series by fellow pop stars Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger, while AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys serves as the show's host.
On Wednesday, Payne's sister Ruth Gibbins admitted she was 'heartbroken' after viewing the 'Building the Band' trailer.
'I didn't know whether to share this, but it felt weird when I've raved about Liam's work and achievements for the last 15 years,' she wrote on her Instagram Stories. 'Im heartbroken he never got to see how great he is in this show. He knew he had done a good job, we all told him this when we were at filming, but watching it back, wow!'

She went on to note: 'You're a star Liam, you always were and always will be. There are a range of emotions I felt watching this, but one of the main ones is immeasurable pride, always. Miss you more every day.'
Netflix had initially been unsure of how to proceed with the release of 'Building the Band,' which was filmed shortly before Payne's death last year at age 31. In a press release sent to HuffPost, the streaming network said Payne's family had 'reviewed the series and is supportive of his inclusion.'
Payne died Oct. 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A toxicology report later concluded that the singer had multiple substances in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, crack cocaine and benzodiazepines.
The report also indicated the presence of 'pink cocaine,' which refers to a cocktail of drugs that can include substances like ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine and sometimes caffeine or opioids.
'Building the Band' will mark an on-screen reunion between Payne and Scherzinger, who is credited alongside record executive and TV personality Simon Cowell with the formation of One Direction in 2010.
Scherzinger, who earlier this month nabbed a Tony Award for her performance in Broadway's 'Sunset Boulevard,' had reportedly been exchanging texts with Payne on the morning of his death.

Crowds pour in as Glastonbury Festival gates open
Thousands of people have poured into Worthy Farm after the gates officially opened for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. Co-founder Sir Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily Eavis, who now runs the festival, led the countdown shortly before 08:00 BST in front of many who slept outside the gate on Tuesday night. More than 200,000 people are set to descend on the site in the coming days ahead of the main festival programme launching on Friday. Speaking shortly before the gates opened, Ms Eavis told the BBC: "It's been such a build-up this year, it's been an amazing amount of excitement." Ms Eavis said: "We're all so looking forward to opening the gates and to be able to do it with my dad has been amazing. "It's the best moment to let them all in and it's just such a joyful city, the most joyful city in the UK for the next five days." Among them were James Trusson, 31, from Ash, Somerset, Grace Ball, 29, from Bournemouth and Dan Mortimore, from Compton Dundon, Somerset, who made it to the front of the line for the second year in a row. Having put themselves in prime position for a top camping spot, Ms Ball said their plans for the rest of the day were to go "back to the car for snacks, and then sleep". "I'll crack a beer I think," added Mr Trusson. Hundreds of people have got in touch with the BBC with photos and stories of travelling to the festival - whether that's a train into Castle Cary, a long coach journey or by bike. A coach full of Glastonbury-goers was sat on the hard shoulder of the M6 with a blown tyre, and Bobby told us he had broken down next to the A303 on his way to the festival. Many heading to the festival for the first time shared their excitement, while others said returning for the 13th time was "pretty awesome". We also spoke to Laurence, who said he quit his job to attend Glastonbury Festival because his leave request was denied. Apart from the expected traffic on the A361 between Glastonbury and Worthy Farm, the main travel routes to the festival have remained relatively clear throughout the day. While the main acts might not start performing until Friday, there is plenty for revellers to enjoy away from the music. There are performances at the circus and theatre fields, seaside entertainment on offer at "Glastonbury-on-Sea" and plenty of food and drink stalls. Follow BBC Somerset on Facebook and X. ‘Sirens' Debuts At No. 1 On Nielsen Top 10 As ‘The Last Of Us' Season 2 Concludes & ‘All American' Season 7 Generates Interest On Netflix
Netflix landed atop the Nielsen streaming charts in the final full week of May with the debut of its latest dark comedy Sirens. The series premiered on May 22, racking up 1.4B minutes streamed in just the first few days of release. Per Nielsen, it was the only title to surpass a billion minutes viewed from May 19 to 25. Interesting, Nielsen also says Sirens attracted a largely Millennial and Gen X audience, with adults 35-64 accounting for 57% of its watch time. More from Deadline 'Adolescence' Composers Aaron May & David Ridley On Using The Victim's "Innocent, Vulnerable Voice" As The Base Of The Score 5 Songs With 'Monsters: The Lyle & Erik Menendez Story' Music Supervisors Amanda Krieg Thomas & Anna Romanoff In Petra Costa's 'Apocalypse In The Tropics,' Rise Of Christian Nationalism Presents Urgent Warning For Brazil, And America - Sheffield DocFest Second place went to NCIS, which nabbed the No. 1 spot among acquired titles for the first time in several years, amassing 824M minutes viewed. While this may be the highest it has climbed in quite some time, make no mistake: NCIS is a stalwart on the Nielsen Top 10, having made 265 total appearances. In fact, it is actually the all-time top acquired program by number of appearances on the list, trailed by Grey's Anatomy. Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives picked up steam as Season 2 ventured into its second week post-premiere. The series came in at No. 4 with 810M minutes viewed, with the new season accounting for about 86% of viewing. This interval also just barely captured the Season 2 finale of HBO's The Last of Us. The series picked up another 707M minutes viewed this week, which includes the same-day viewing on Max for the May 25 finale. However, it's likely the series will make at least one more appearance on the Top 10 before it trails off as audiences wait for another season. Nielsen considers The Last of Us an acquired title, since it also airs on HBO and therefore Nielsen's streaming measurement doesn't fully capture the viewing for each episode. On streaming alone, Nielsen says TLOU generated 3.6B viewing minutes over the course of Season 2. Another acquired title that performed quite well during this week was The CW's All American, thanks to Season 7's arrival on Netflix. The series shot to No. 8 among acquired titles that week with 559M minutes viewed. Nielsen says 55% of its total watch time this week came from adults 18-49. Black viewers were also major contributors, accounting for 30% of viewing. See more below.
