BACK in the 1970s and 80, a TV series called 'End of Part One' featured a tube station that existed in Lewisham, alongside tube stops in Ladywell, Catford and one called the 'Edge of the World.'
There has never been a tube station in Lewisham - the train station only serves the DLR and National Rail, but fiction could soon become reality with Bakerloo Line extension plans stretching to the London borough.

An extension of London's Bakerloo Line has been considered since 2014, but a lack of government funding has prevented it from taking place.
But now th extension could actually happen thanks to a newly submitted planning permission, alongside several other new tube stations in South London.
Burgess Park and Old Kent Road would be built from scratch, and New Cross Gate and Lewisham - which both currently don't have a Underground station - would each have one added.
While the project has not fully been given the go ahead, the route has been planned, and it was safeguarded by Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander in February.
According to Time Out, if the extension went ahead, it would allow 27 trains to run per hour on the line, which would mean a train every two minutes.
The project is costly and a lack of funding is preventing it from getting under way, but TfL and the Mayor of London are in discussions about how to fund it.
According to TfL, the plans include extending the Bakerloo Line from Elephant & Castle to Lewisham and building a new Bakerloo line ticket hall at Elephant & Castle.
The route would then run from Elephant & Castle along the Old Kent Road and at New Cross Gate.
If the plans were approved, TfL has projected that work could begin in 2030 and be complete by 2040.

The Baker Street and Waterloo Railway originally opened in 1906 but was quickly renamed after a journalist nicknamed it the Bakerloo Line and the name stuck.
There have already been a number of extensions to the line over the decades, including at Elephant & Castle, Queen's Park and Watford Junction.
Today, the line is often known for its 1972 Mark Two tube trains that feature brown and grey retro interiors.
If the extension was built, then it could connect Lewisham to central London in 15 minutes.
Three scenic train journeys you can take in the UK
Cornish Coast - One trip that rail enthusiasts seem to love is along a stretch of the Cornish coast and takes just 10 minutes to complete.
The route from St Erth to St Ives only stops at Carbis Bay en route to its final destination, but the views out the window for the whole journey are pretty spectacular.
Another highlight of the journey is that St Ives station is situated right next to Porthminster beach, meaning the sand and sea can be accessed almost immediately.
Meanwhile, the station is less than a ten minute walk into town, where the harbour, shops, galleries and pubs can be explored.
Durham to Edinburgh - Another train route that people in the UK love is the East Coast train line between Durham and Edinburgh, with coastal views and city landscapes among the sights that can be seen out the window.
Newcastle, Berwick, Lindisfarne and Durham Cathedral are all among the highlights on that route.
Scotland's West Highland Line - While Scotland is home to plenty of famous landmarks and top attractions, it also has one of the most breathtaking train routes in the world.
Scotland's West Highland Line has previously been dubbed the best rail journey in the world by Wanderlust - and it's easy to see why.
The journey from Glasgow to Fort William is one of my favourite train routes - and I've interrailed through mainland Europe.
With mountain landscapes, serene lochs, wistful moors, and wildlife all visible through the train window, it's certainly a route all holidaymakers should consider doing at least once.
Next month, there is also the chance to hop onboard a London Underground vintage train on a secret railway line that isn't on tube maps.
Plus, this is the incredible train journey that'll 'ruin every other railway trip you take'.

'I compared American Fanta to European and was baffled by the big difference'

After hearing that Fanta tastes different in Europe and the US, one man decided to put the two versions of the drink against each other to see which one is the best When a brand's product is sold around the world, it's bound to look and taste different from place to place based on cultural preferences. One of the most well-known examples of this is the popular orange-flavoured fizzy drink, Fanta. ‌ Owned by the Coca-Cola Company, many people will have memories of sipping of the drink while on holiday, whether it is when lounging by the pool or having a beach day. And it turns out there might be a genuine reason as to why the drink often appears to taste better when abroad, as the flavour can differ quite drastically depending on what country you're visiting. But it leads people to wonder which version of Fanta tastes the best. ‌ Taking to TikTok, a user known as 'ShoPhoCho', decided to compare a European bottle of Fanta to a bottle of American Fanta to see if it's really that big of a difference between the two drinks. However, the first difference became clear at first glance as the American drink looked a lot more vibrant and orange compared to the yellow-coloured European version. ‌ "Why does this one look nuclear orange," he said as he held up the bottle of American Fanta, which is a bright orange colour. "Well that's because the American version contains my favourite petroleum-based colour, Red 40. It also has Yellow 6." "This is the Swedish version," he said holding up the European bottle of Fanta, which is a yellow colour. "You guys can do some digging, but basically no artificial colouring." As for the sugar contents, he read on the bottle the European bottle of Fanta contained 10g of sugar per 250ml. While the bottle contained 500ml of the drink, it meant it had 20g of sugar in total. Although it may sound like a lot, the American drink contained more than three times as much, with the one bottle containing 73g of sugar in total. While the contents differed a lot, how different does it actually make the taste? He went on to try the European Fanta first, which he quickly remarked had a secure cap that's stuck together to prevent littering. ‌ After trying his first sip, he said: "It's definitely less sweet and less fizz. It tastes like carbonated orange juice." Next up, he opened the American bottle and took a sip. He said: "Definitely more sweet, a lot more fizz, and a little more thick." So what's the verdict? He revealed: "If I'm going strictly based on taste, I like the American better. If you're looking for something more health conscious, then European is definitely more justified." ‌ However, his viewers didn't agree as hundreds of people took to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts. "First person ever to like the American more than the European," one person wrote. Another person said: "I tasted American Fanta once and omg how are you drinking that sh*t." A third person shockingly said: "No f***ing way American Fanta has almost 100g of sugar." "The American one looks like Fanta exotic in Europe," another viewer remarked.

Stylish at 40! Inside the life of birthday girl Beatrice Borromeo, the aristocrat once crowned 'most stylish European royal' - and her role in a regal relatives murder conviction

Effortlessly elegant socialite Beatrice Borromeo, who is celebrating her 40th birthday today, was once crowned the 'most stylish European royal' by Tatler. The daughter of Italian aristocrat Don Carlo Ferdinando married into the Monaco royal family in 2015. She tied the knot with Pierre Casiraghi, the youngest child of Princess Caroline and grandson of the late Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, in a lavish wedding hailed as the 'chicest of the summer' by Vogue. For the celebrations, Beatrice showcased a total of four couture gowns: two by Valentino for a civil ceremony in Monaco; and two by Armani Prive for a religious service at Lake Maggiore. The latter took place at Borromeo Castle on Isola Bella, one of the many islands owned by her noble family. For the ceremony, Beatrice wore a bespoke ivory lace gown by Giorgio Armani Prive, featuring a scalloped-boat neck, three-quarter length sleeves and column silhouette. Demonstrating her flair, she changed into a Grecian-inspired diaphanous silk tulle gown, complete with a full A-line skirt and dramatic train. Meanwhile, the dashing groom opted for a black tuxedo with a white bow tie. Beatrice and Pierre have since become parents to two sons, Stefano, eight, and Francesco, seven. Whether channelling Hollywood glamour on the red carpet or delivering a couture masterclass at a grand ball, Beatrice never fails to impress. A former model for Chanel and Valentino, she has been a global ambassador for Dior since 2021 and regularly graces the front row at the brand's fashion week shows. The French fashion house was also a favourite of her late grandmother-in-law, Grace Kelly, who wore dozens of couture gowns over the course of her 50 years in the public eye. Beatrice is routinely dressed by the label for significant events, such as Monaco's National Day. In 2022, she stunned in a scarlet ensemble steeped in history. It incorporated the 'Bar' jacket, which was fundamental to Christian Dior's New Look of 1947. The jacket celebrated the female form and injected a welcome dose of glamour into the fashion scene after the war. Grace Kelly also wore the design. Earlier this month, Catherine, Princess of Wales wore the blush pink version to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron to the UK. Beatrice joins the royal family for the 2015 Monaco National Day Celebrations in the courtyard of the Prince's Palace of Monaco After studying law, Beatrice attended the esteemed Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and forged a career in both print and broadcast before turning her hand to documentary filmmaking. She recently debuted the three-episode series The King Who Never Was on Netflix. It focuses on Prince Victor Emmanuel of Savoy, the last heir to the Italian throne, holidaying at his summer residence on the island of Cavallo, France, in 1978. Enraged by a group of Italians partying on nearby boats, he produced a rifle. He shot a young German tourist, Dirk Hamer, who was sleeping on the desk of one of the boats. Victor Emmanuel was acquitted of murder charges in November 1991, following a lengthy court battle brought about by Dirk's sister, Birgit Hamer, who was one of Beatrice's mother Paola Marzotto's oldest friends. The Prince was convicted only of a firearms offence and given a suspended jail sentence of six months. '[The story] was a part of my family for as long as I can remember,' Beatrice has explained. In 2011, while working for Italian newspaper il Fatto Quotidiano, she leaked a secretly recorded video of Victor Emmanuel allegedly confessing to the killing. Victor, or Vittorio, Emanuele is part of the House of Savoy, which ruled Italy from 1861 to 1946 - when they were displaced by the Italian Republic. For her next project, Beatrice is making a film about the origins of the family she has married into: the Grimaldis of Monaco, Europe's longest-standing royal family. 'My company Astrea Films is producing the film about the seizure of the fortress of Monaco by the Grimaldi family in the Middle Ages,' she said.
