Sunshine returns Saturday across Colorado before rain returns

CBS News10 hours ago

Saturday drier and warmer conditions take hold. Skies will be mostly sunny and highs will be in the low to mid-80s across the Denver metro area.
CBS
A weak push of cooler air from the north will increase low-level moisture, setting the stage for a cooler and cloudier Sunday. Highs will fall back into the low to mid-70s, with a return of isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Three is a marginal chance for strong to severe storms with large hail and damaging wind being the main concern.
CBS
Starting Monday, an upper-level ridge will begin building over the Central Rockies. That means Monday–Tuesday we will see gradual warming, with highs returning to the low to mid-80s. Temperatures will stay near or slightly above normal through the end of the week. With isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast: Rain chances and heat

DES MOINES, Iowa — Clouds and, in some areas, showers have kept temperatures cooler Saturday than on Friday. We'll continue to see slight rain chances the next couple of days. The timeline steps you into Monday: Lows Saturday night will stay fairly mild. We do have shower chances ahead… mainly in the south Sunday afternoon, and mainly in the north Monday. The slideshow below shows the timing, including another rain chance on a warmer Thursday. Severe chances remain low, as seen via Colorado State's severe weather algorithm below. We'll have enough heat and moisture, but winds aloft won't be supportive of strong storms. Warmer highs for the next six days are above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts below: The extended outlooks below keep us in hotter temperatures and above-average rain chances, so more like summer in Iowa. Note there's a chance we'll see excessive heat in the 8-14-day timeframe. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
