Ashley Cole's reclusive new life with Cheryl lookalike wife – as pals reveal ghosts from ‘bad boy' past still haunt him
HE was once the bad boy of English football - terrorising the wings on the pitch before tearing it up in nightclubs.
But with his playing days long behind him, former England and Chelsea ace Ashley Cole is living a very different life aged 44.

He's shunned the wild partying and paparazzi shots from his days with ex-wife Cheryl Tweedy in favour of quiet nights in with his current spouse Sharon Canu and their young family.
Unlike another England legend and former teammate David Beckham, who recently turned 50 with a headline-making celebrity bash in London, Ashley is embracing living very much off-grid.
A source close to the legendary left-back told The Sun: 'That period feels like another lifetime for Ashley, he's just moved on from it.
'Lots of his pals he used to hang around with during those partying days just don't see him now.
'A common question within his old friendship group is 'Does anyone speak to Ashley anymore?'
'He's just solely focusing on his family and coaching career.'
The source added: 'It's highly unlikely he still communicates with Cheryl now.
'Why would he? Their lives aren't linked.
'It quietly irks him when his old misdemeanours are brought up, as he's a different person now and feels like that was a bygone era.
'He's got kids now and works with young players so it's a noise he could do without.
'The book is closed in regards that part of his life and it's all about the present and future.'
Following his ill-fated four-year marriage to Cheryl and the very public fallout of their split in 2010, which was sparked by various cheating allegations, you couldn't blame Ashley for keeping his head down.
He was barely linked with any other women following the divorce.
Instead he let his football do the talking by winning the Champions League, Europa League and his record seventh FA Cup with Chelsea.
He then went on to enjoy a stint in Italy with AC Roma and three seasons in the MLS with LA Galaxy, before finishing his career at Championship side Derby County under the management of ex-Chelsea and England teammate Frank Lampard.
It was during his time in Italy he found love again with 31-year-old model Sharon Canu, a ringer for ex Cheryl.
But there have been no glossy magazine deals, glitzy premiere appearances or cheesy Lottery campaigns like he experienced with Cheryl.

The couple share two children together - Jaxon, nine, and Grace, seven.
And their profiles, in keeping with their relationship, are also kept low-key, featuring only occasionally on holiday Instagram snaps or events associated with Ashley's football achievements, including when he was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame last April.
Ashley wanted this relationship to be private and his only brushes with showbiz these days are his unlikely friendship with former Towie star Sam Faiers and her partner Paul Knightley, who is close pals with wife Sharon.
The source explained: 'Sharon and Sam have been friends for years and live close by in Surrey.
'They're like any other mums whose kids are the same age, they've forged a strong friendship courtesy of play dates round each other's houses and the homes of other parents in their inner circle.
'Ashley and Paul met through them and got on, and they've been on holidays and breaks together.
'It's an unlikely set-up, but everyone gets on really well.'

Sam and Paul attended Ashley and Sharon's lavish Italian wedding in 2023, alongside other guests including Frank and Christine Lampard and ex-Chelsea skipper John Terry.
They exchanged vows at the Hotel La Vecchia Posta in Ladispoli, on a clifftop overlooking the Mediterranean, with their children acting as bridesmaid and page boy.
The only coverage of the nuptials came from social media, the big glossy mags deals snubbed again, and the bash - although typically lavish (he's an ex-Premier League footballer after all) - was a far cry from the extravagance of his £500,000 2006 wedding with Cheryl, dubbed the "showbiz wedding of the year".

In 2019, in a rare interview about his personal life, Ashley told The Telegraph how becoming a dad had changed his perspective on life.
He said: 'I was a young, angry kid at the time, and now I've grown up and understand the things I did is life, it happens. I've learnt from it, it's made me a better person. It's made me a great dad.
'These are the things I focus on now, my kids and my girlfriend. It's a different me, I'm more of a family man now.
'You won't see me in nightclubs any more, you'll see me at a park pushing my kids.'
And this newfound maturity aligns with his passion for coaching and aspirations to manage at the elite level.
He's currently the assistant coach of England U21s alongside boss Lee Carsley, having previously worked under Lampard at Everton and another former England teammate Wayne Rooney during his brief spell in charge of Birmingham City.
And according to ex-Chelsea and England teammate Joe Cole, Ashley is ready to take on a big managerial challenge, tipping him to land the vacant job at Glasgow Rangers.
He said: 'I worked with him doing a bit of media in a foreign country.
'We had the afternoon off and we were sitting on the sunbeds, ordered a couple of drinks, and I'm thinking, 'This is a good job, Coley, I'm enjoying myself!'
'I'm watching the world go by, 90 degrees, and he just gets his laptop out and he's showing me throw-ins!
'The dedication… his dedication to football. We love him. But that would be perfect for him.'
Just like his life out of the spotlight now.

Talking points as England continue World Cup qualifying campaign against Andorra
England continue their World Cup qualifying campaign with an away match against Andorra on Saturday, played in Barcelona. Here, the PA news agency takes a look at the talking points ahead of the game. Destination USA Victories over Albania and Latvia in Thomas Tuchel's first two games in charge in March set England on the right path to North America next summer and they currently top Group K after two games, though their biggest rivals Serbia are yet to kick-off their campaign. However, a victory over the minnows in Barcelona will put Tuchel's men one step closer to the World Cup ahead of September's toughest game of the group in Serbia. The German is not taking the game lightly, naming his strongest possible squad, including players who are going to the Club World Cup later this month. Brothers in arms Trevoh Chalobah earned his maiden call-up to the senior squad after an impressive season for Chelsea and he has his sights on history. If he is able to get on the pitch against Andorra – or Senegal in next Tuesday's friendly – he will follow in his brother Nathaniel's shoes by representing England, making the Chalobahs the 21st set of brothers to play for England. Only two of them have been post-war, Bobby and Jack Charlton and Phil and Gary Neville, while Trevoh will be hoping his international career lasts longer than the six minutes 54 seconds Nathaniel managed in his one and only appearance in 2018. The heat is on England are already preparing for the extreme temperatures they are expected to face in next summer's World Cup and they have spent the week training in the 27-degree heat of Spain rather than at St George's Park. The players have been doing acclimitisation testing this week, consisting of cycling in sauna-like temperatures, and taking scientific tests on their core body temperature and reaction to heat. They will get some in-game experience of it against Andorra as well, with temperatures expected to be in the mid-20s when the match kicks off on Saturday tea-time. Ivan the great Most people thought Ivan Toney had sacrificed his England career when he made a money-spinning move to Saudia Arabia last summer, but Thomas Tuchel has brought him back into the squad. The striker scored 23 goals in 30 Saudi Pro League appearances for Al-Ahli, helping the side to win the AFC Champions League Elite competition. With Ollie Watkins also back in the squad after injury, captain Harry Kane has some competition in attack. Down Andorra out? This match is not a question of whether England will win, but how many goals will they score. Andorra are well down the FIFA rankings, in 173rd and below Papa New Guinea and St Vincent and the Grenadines, and have only ever won four World Cup qualifiers – two of them against San Marino. England have a healthy record against them, winning all of their six previous meetings to an aggregate of 25-0 and should strengthen that.

The TV icon was an antique dealer before a chance meeting with a producer at a barbecue led the BBC making a two-part documentary about him preparing for an antiques show at the Olympia. He became a favourite among viewers thanks to his appearances as an antiques expert on This Morning and The Antiques Show on BBC Two. David then landed his own game show called Bargain Hunt which cemented his status as a TV star and he would go on to front for nine years until 2003. "I couldn't understand it at first I was just doing what came naturally but everyone seemed to pick up on my catchphrases such as 'cheap as chips' and 'what a bobby dazzler'," David said of the show on his website. 'Look at what they've done': Bollywood star's anguish after brazen thieves smash into her Jaguar to steal her Louis Vuitton bags in lawless London
A famous Bollywood star has told of her anguish after falling victim to London's theft crimewave when brazen crooks smashed into her Jaguar to steal two designer bags. Heartbroken Sunanda Sharma, 33, said she has lost 'everything' after thieves broke into her 2016 Jaguar F-Pace to steal her swanky pair of Louis Vuitton bags. Despairing model Sharma, who has starred in a number of hit films and is also a well-known singer, had left her motor in a car park in the capital when it was ransacked. The actress, who has struggled to sleep since the incident, broke the news of the raid in a video to her nine million-strong army of fans on Instagram 'I'm in here in London and this is the car's situation now,' says Sharma, as she inspects the battered remains of the black Jag. Appearing to put on a brave face, the star walks around the battered motor - which had its back window and rear passenger window smashed out. 'They've broken the glass and everything else,' she continues in Hindi. 'The expensive LV bags I've worked so hard to afford are gone. 'What a tragedy. Those were my favourite bags. Both of them. Look what they've done.' Holding her head in her hand, she then continues in English, saying: 'Everything is gone.' In a caption on the video, the Bollywood star added she had been left traumatised by the break-in. 'The moment I saw a bit of money, it left me I have no words for you, people of the UK. I couldn't sleep all night,' she wrote. The celebrity has since received an outpouring of sympathy from her loyal followers, with one saying: 'Love how you have managed to keep the smile on your face despite of that pain within.' Another supporter adds: 'If vibes were a storm, you'd be the thunder and lightning, illuminating everything around you! Your presence is truly electrifying!' While a third bluntly said: 'Welcome to London.' The theft come amid an on-going crimespree blighting the city, which has seen fearless thieves raiding cars in some of London's most exclusive streets. In March, a masked cyclist broke into the boot of a Tesla parked in Knightsbridge and stole a Stone Island jacket worth more than £1,000 - which had only just been purchased from the Harrods department store. In another broad daylight raid, a hooded figure was filmed snatching bags of designer goods after breaking into a Mercedes-Benz parked near Harrods. Hans Place, where the theft took place, boasts of deluxe apartments that can go for as much as £10.5million. Shocked onlookers watched in disbelief as the shameless crook swaggered away with his haul of stolen luxury goods, while a woman runs out of her house shouting 'oi!' as flees the scene. In another instance of theft, two masked cyclists smashed into the back of a car and stole a high-end designer jacket from the boot. Prepared with torches and face masks, the thieves smash into the motor and snatch a £1,500 jacket - even though a couple walking their dog stop just feet away. The Metropolitan Police said it understood 'the impact motor vehicle crime has on victims'. 'Incidents reported to police are assessed to ensure lines of enquiry, including forensic opportunities and footage, are progressed to hold offenders to account', they added. In February alone, 2,097 thefts were recorded in London's West End, which includes some of the capital's most exclusive areas including, Mayfair, Fitzrovia, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street. It comes as Jenson Button's wife revealed she now felt 'unsafe' walking the capital's streets after her suitcase rammed with £250,000 of lavish jewellery and designer handbags was stolen outside of St Pancras station. The 34-year-old explained how the ex-Formula One driver was helping the chauffeur load the car when a man swooped in and sped away with her Goyard carry-on suitcase in mere seconds. The former Playboy model told MailOnline neither she nor her husband had any interest in returning to the UK after their ordeal, adding: 'It just feels so unsafe... and its just unfortunate because that's where my children's grandmother and aunts live.' In March, TV personality Jamie Laing revealed he had been robbed once again, just a week after his Notting Hill home was targeted by balaclava-wearing intruders. Shortly after the terrifying ordeal, where he and his wife Sophie Habboo, 30, were woken up to 6am by louds bangs, he discovered his car had been broken into. Speaking on his Radio 1 show, Jamie said: 'So, I live in London, I was with my wife Sophie and we went to get in our car. 'It's parked around the place we live, and it's London right, things maybe go missing occasionally or whatever. 'I walked up to the car, and the car looked a little bit funny, the door was slightly open, and I was like, 'hang on a second, has someone managed to get into the car?' 'Came up to the car and we had been robbed. They left the pineapple in one seat and the melon in another seat. I said to my wife, 'did you leave these in the car?' and she was like, 'no?', so I don't know if it's a sign or the mark they leave.' MailOnline has approached the Met Police for comment about the alleged theft of Ms Sharma's designer bags.
