KwaZulu-Natal dampened by drizzle, mist and cloudy skies
Parts of KwaZulu-Natal residents woke to overcast skies, fog patches, and drizzly conditions in several areas. 'It's going to stay fairly wet for a good part of the day,' said Joel Guy, a forecaster. Some areas also experienced misty conditions, reducing visibility for morning traffic. Drizzle is expected to persist into the evening, particularly in Margate and the surrounding south coast. Despite the drizzle, temperatures remain moderate. Durban's peak will be 21°C, while inland areas such as Pietermaritzburg will reach the upper teens. 'We are not seeing extreme cold here, but the cloud cover will keep things cooler than usual,' Guy explained. Northern parts of the KwaZulu-Natal will experience slightly warmer, partly cloudy weather by late afternoon. Western KwaZulu-Natal may escape the persistent drizzle, with partly cloudy conditions forecast later in the day. Guy said this will be short-lived as more cloud and light rain return midweek. Coastal winds remain moderate, but forecasters are monitoring for possible stronger gusts later in the week. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Sunny Gauteng day ahead with mild afternoon warmth
Gauteng started the week chilly, with temperatures dipping to 6°C in Johannesburg and 4°C in Vereeniging. 'The mornings are still reminding us that winter is not totally going away,' said Joel Guy, a forecaster. Pretoria saw a slightly warmer start at 8°C, but the winter chill was still noticeable for early commuters. Residents can look forward to a sunny day in Gauteng, with Johannesburg reaching 18°C, Springs 19°C, and Pretoria a comfortable 21°C. 'Later in the day we will see partly cloudy skies developing over the eastern areas of the province,' Guy noted. These changes will bring a cooler evening, though no significant rainfall is expected. Neighbouring Limpopo and Mpumalanga experienced a cooler-than-usual morning, with some towns in the upper teens by midday. 'We're seeing a mix of winter-like mornings and warmer afternoons, which will continue for a few days.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
