EXCLUSIVE EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster's son Alastair, 19, drops out of fashion school to pursue career in film
Sir Rod Stewart tipped his teenage son Alastair to play a younger version of himself if a Hollywood film were ever made about his very colourful life.
'There's a remarkable similarity,' the singer remarked.
And maybe Alastair, 19, could be up for the challenge as, I can disclose, he's dropped out of fashion school to pursue a career in film.
Last autumn, he embarked on a three-year degree course in fashion design, entrepreneurship and branding at the JCA London Fashion Academy.
'I was attending that fashion college, but I've left now,' he tells me at the world premiere of Ocean with Sir David Attenborough.
'I'm in a bit of a transitional period at the moment.
'I'm trying to get into the film industry, and I want to follow my passion.'
Alastair, who attended the screening at Royal Festival Hall in London with his mother Penny Lancaster, 54, added: 'I want to be behind the camera, that's my real passion.
'I've made a few short plays, I write a lot of scripts, and I write a lot of screenplays.'
Rod's, 80, wife Penny recently opened up on the trials and tribulations of navigating a blended family with her husband's other children.
The Maggie May hitmaker has eight children with five different women, two of whom are sons Alastair and Aidan, 14, who he welcomed with his third wife Penny.
Rod also has Liam, 30, and Renee, 32, with his second wife, model Rachel Hunter, 55, while Kimberly, 45, and Sean, 44, are from his first marriage to actress Alana Stewart, 79.
He has another daughter Ruby, 37, from a former relationship with model Kelly Emberg, 65 and Rod's firstborn child is Sarah Streeter, 61, who was raised by her adoptive parents Gerald and Evelyn Thubron.
Discussing the subject of blended families on the Loose Women podcast with Coleen Nolan, 60, Penny reflected on entering Rod's life when his children Liam and Renee were young, revealing how 'difficult' it must've been for them having another woman in their lives following their parents' divorce.

They were speaking in response to a caller who admitted that she didn't want her ex-husband to take their children on holiday with his partner and their children.
Sharing her own experiences of becoming a stepmother, Penny explained: 'There's five mothers, so it's a bit blended', later adding: 'I really did take into account what it must be like for the mother when I was around Rod [Stewart's] children.
'Liam and Renee, Liam was just five and Renee was seven. So, still quite young and impressionable and I could only imagine how difficult it was for those children to have their parents divorced, let alone to have another woman around.'
She added: 'I guess I just wanted them to see that dad was happy, and if I was the person that was making dad happy and dad still communicated with mum and they still made the big decisions about things, it was a case of just tiptoeing.'
Penny has a great relationship with all of Rod's children, with the whole clan often holidaying together.

Love Island fans spot tell tale signs villa beauty HATED snog with show hunk – did you?
LOVE Island viewers are convinced one Islander was not feeling it whilst snogging a show hunk on the terrace. During Wednesday night's episode, Dejon Noel-Williams, 26, and Megan Forte Clarke, 24, snuck off for a quiet chat - or so their co-stars thought. 4 4 The flirty mood quickly turned awkward as the pair discussed their connection, before sharing the very unconvincing smooch. PT Dejon started the chat, telling musical theatre performer Meg: 'I like the way that things are going.' She replied, 'Yeah, same. I feel the exact same.' But the tension was hard to ignore as she added, 'I feel like we talk… everyone else's f*****g business.' Trying to take things to the next level, Dejon asked if she still wanted to share a bed with him, to which she said yes. Then came the kiss - and that's when fans say the red flags really started waving. Before Dejon leaned in, Meg awkwardly asked, 'Oh, you're going to kiss me?' And once the kiss was over, she laughed and said, 'Is that enough?' Fans took to Instagram to dissect the painfully awkward moment, with one writing beneath some grabs of the scene: ''Oh ur gonna kiss me' & 'was that enough' – she DID NOT want that." Another added: 'That was so false hahaha she doesn't like him. Her face afterwards said it all.' A third agreed: 'SO TRUE she don't like him like that.' ITV2 viewers previously slammed Meg after she made a huge U-turn in bid to stay in the villa. And it came just a day after she seemed "underwhelmed" when she chose Dejon in last night's launch. On Monday night, Meg chose Dejon, but when they met for the first time, fans were convinced there was no attraction on either side. In fact, she then went onto tell the rest of the girls later in the episode that she wasn't really "feeling him". But as Tuesday's recoupling loomed, Meg seemed to change her tune. In fact when she saw US bombshell Toni chatting to Djon, she was heard saying to her fellow Islanders: 'I don't have my man, Dejon's gone - that's it!' This didn't go unnoticed by fans, who took to social media to vent about her "game plan" One said: "Meg doesn't like Dejon but she's got to secure her place in the Villa, baddd!" While another chimed in: "All Meg is worried about is going home, she don't care about Dejon." This one added: "Meg defo has a game plan! "She's being all sweet to Dejon to stay on the show." Later, Dejon and Meg were up on the terrace and Meg continued her fight not to get dumped, and upped her game. So much so, Dejon was heard reassuring her: "You haven't got anything to worry about, you're my favourite, one thing about me is I'll always be honest with my feelings.' It comes hot on the heels of viewers venting that Meg had "no interest" in Dejon last night. It came after she looked disappointed when she picked him in the recoupling. Again venting on social media, fans shared their thoughts. "Meg doesn't fancy him at ALL," said one. "meg's face changeddd when dejon walked out," said another. A third person added: "Meg is not into Dejon in the SLIGHTEST." "Yeah Meg doesn't like Dejon, he is definitely not her type but she cannot outrightly say it," said a fourth. ‘I can't see the difference…' – Man Utd fans fume as new 2025/26 kit is released with ‘nod to Old Trafford'
MANCHESTER UNITED have released their home kit for the 2025/26 campaign. The Red Devils announced the release with a dramatic video, showing a giant shirt held aloft inside Old Trafford. 5 5 5 The new strip pays tribute to the Theatre of Dreams, and sees United return to a red and black theme. In a change from last season the iconic Adidas stripes on the arms are black instead of white, as are the cuffs of the sleeves. For some the shirt is strikingly similar to last season, although the 2023/24 kit is perhaps a better comparison given that also bore black stripes. Adidas state the "home kits are crafted with the best of sporting technology, with AEROREADY materials that leave you feeling cool, dry, and comfortable on matchday, whether you're on the pitch or in the stands". They retail for £85 or £90 depending on sleeve length, while the 'authentic' top will set fans back £120 or £130 - the latter is the long sleeve which sold out within hours of being released. Captain Bruno Fernandes featured in the shirt promotion shoot, along with Amad, Patrick Dorgu and Leny Yoro. Some fans feel the jersey is a copycat from last year, with one saying: "I didn't spot a difference w 24/25 Home kit." Another added: "It's the 23/24 kit." Courtney Love, 60, admits she has settled for 'a friend with benefits' as she takes a 'libertine' approach to relationships
At the age of 60, Courtney Love has settled for a 'friend with benefits'. The widow of Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain is keeping the name of her famous lover under wraps but revealed they are both 'libertine.' Speaking to Daily Mail's Richard Eden, she revealed: 'I'm a libertine, and the person that I most do my romantic crap with is also a libertine, so we are really more friends with benefits.' 'I don't like talking about them because there's jealousy around that person.' Courtney has lived in London for five years and admits to previously finding herself in a love triangle from which she was eventually rejected. She was last in a 'serious' relationship with Nicholas Jarecki, who was 15 years her junior, in 2015 but they split a year later. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Last summer, Courtney's hilarious story about not having sex with Liam Gallagher went viral after Oasis announced their shock reunion. The Hole singer famously enjoyed a raucous night with the musician in 2000 - but turned down his advances due to his looks and personal hygiene - likening him to a '13th century serf.' Speaking to Metro in 2014, she recounted Liam playing her his hit Songbird in London's famed Groucho club. She said the frontman asked her 'what do you think of me?' - with Love saying: 'I mean, he was lovely but he had really bad breath from being up all night and his eyebrows kind of met in the middle. 'And I just thought he looked like a 13th century serf from Monty Python. And I blurted it out loud.' She added that Liam wasn't insulted as he 'didn't understand me' but that daughter Frances was furious with her for turning him down. She said: 'Frances, who loves Oasis more than Nirvana, was furious I didn't sleep with him. 'She texted me saying: "Mommy you are an epic sl*t but you never slept with Liam Gallagher!"' The pair were famously pictured in a cab in London that year - with romance rumors igniting. She previously said she had desperately wanted to meet Liam before their encounter and was mesmerized by his singing ability She said: 'I kept thinking. Liam's the talent! It's not Noel! Unfair I'm sure. It's them both.'
