Philadelphia Eagles practice squad member's Old City home burglarized, sources say

CBS News12-02-2025

Thieves stole thousands of dollars of jewelry and cash from the home of a Philadelphia Eagles practice squad member over Super Bowl weekend, police sources said.
The burglary happened at wide receiver Danny Gray's Old City home, according to police sources. Gray, 25, played at Southern Methodist University in college. He was a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
After he was waived by the Niners, Gray signed with the Eagles practice squad at the beginning of the 2024 season.
The incident happened as a string of burglaries have targeted the homes of professional athletes across the country. Some of the athletes targeted include Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and more.
According to sources, the robbery at Gray's home appears to have no connection to the other cases involving athletes. The case is being investigated by local authorities, while the other cases targeting athletes are under investigation by the FBI.
The Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to win the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl LIX MVP after a near-flawless performance where he recorded three total touchdowns. The Eagles' defense, run by veteran defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, gave Mahomes, Kelce and the rest of Kansas City's offense problems all night.

Chiefs' Travis Kelce Mom Lands Major Spot On Reality TV Show

Chiefs' Travis Kelce Mom Lands Major Spot On Reality TV Show originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has taken much of the family spotlight this offseason. His relationship with pop music princess Taylor Swift continues to capture the hearts of the many while the build-up to his farewell tour increases by the day. Kelce will retire from the NFL after this season. He, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of Chiefs Kingdom hope to pull out one more run to the Super Bowl. When that time ultimately comes for him to move on from the game, don't expect the Kelce family to go away from the public eye. Travis and his brother, Jason, co-host the "New Heights" podcast which has been quite successful. Even the family's matriarch Donna Kelce has found her way into the spotlight. In fact, she had a major announcement this week that will be sure to provide more Kelce content. Both Donna and Jason will participate in season four of the reality TV series "The Traitors." She made her announcement official with a post on Instagram captioned, "Sundays were just the beginning. I raised the two playmakers, but now it's mamas turn." The show will begin streaming on Peacock and has begun filming in Scotland. Donna and Jason will be joined by a number of reality TV stars from other programs along with a group of celebrities including Michael Rapoport and Tara Lipinksi. "The Traitors" splits contestants up into two categories of "Faithfuls" and "Traitors." The cast must decipher which among them are the "Traitors," picking a player each night to "murder." While Donna and Jason embark on this exciting new venture, Travis remains at home preparing for his final season. The next step on that journey comes next week when the Chiefs get started with their mandatory minicamp on June 17. Kanye West ‘wants to attend Sean ‘Diddy' Combs' criminal trial

Kanye West reportedly wants to attend Sean 'Diddy' Combs' criminal trial in New York to publicly support the embattled music mogul. The 47-year-old rapper, who now goes by Ye, is currently in New York City, though he was not present at this week's court proceedings, but a source has told CNN he has been communicating with 26-year-old Christian 'King' Combs, one of Combs' sons, about possibly joining the family in court once the defence begins presenting their case. An insider 'close to Combs' told the network: 'Ye has been in touch with Christian and would like to attend the trial with the family to show his support.' Combs' federal trial, which includes serious charges against the 55-year-old such as sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution, has so far featured appearances in court from several members of Combs' family, including his sons. Prosecutors are expected to conclude their case next week, paving the way for the defence to begin calling witnesses – a point at which Kanye may make an appearance. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all allegations of misconduct. More than 60 civil suits have also been filed against Combs alleging sexual assault or other abuses on top of his criminal trial. The source also confirmed to CNN Christian and Kanye are currently collaborating on new music. They previously worked together on a track released in March, which included audio of a jailhouse phone call between West and Combs. The track also featured vocals from Kanye's daughter with Kim Kardashian. Scandal-plagued Kanye, who has been widely criticised in recent years for repeated antisemitic remarks and inflammatory behaviour, is one of the few public figures to voice support for Combs. Ahead of his fellow rapper's trial, he posted messages on social media advocating for Combs' release. In February, West sparked further backlash after he promoted and sold T-shirts emblazoned with swastikas — an incident he publicised in a Super Bowl advertisement. Neither Combs nor Christian responded to CNN's request for comment.

Bald Eagle Area softball falls short in PIAA championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) – Bald Eagle Area's softball team entered the PIAA Class 3A Championship Game on Friday hoping for revenge against Pine Grove Area, who handed the Eagles a loss in the title game back in 2019. However, the Cardinals got the best of them once again, winning 4-3 in the 13th inning at Penn State's Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park. Addisyn Burns gave Bald Eagle Area an early lead in the third inning with a two-run double. Steelers unfazed by Watt's absence The Eagles saw a strong pitching performance from Sierra Albright, but errors allowed Pine Grove Area to take control of the game early on. In the bottom of the third inning, Callee Leffler hit a triple into right field but was able to score the Cardinals' first run of the game due to a throwing error. In the fourth inning, Jamie Dinger tied the game at two with an RBI double but would advance to third base on another error. Pine Grove Area capitalized on that as Tailyn Bohr would give them the lead with an RBI single. Trailing 3-2 in the seventh inning, Bald Eagle Area played small ball, using a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly to help force the game into extra innings. After each team had opportunities to win it in extras, Dinger was the hero in the 13th inning, winning the game with a bases loaded sacrifice fly. The loss drops Bald Eagle Area's record to 2-6 in the PIAA Championship Game. The Eagles finished their remarkable season with a 22-4 record. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
