Islamic Resistance Front In Syria – Formidable In Might Militia: We Have Surface-To-Surface Missiles With Ranges Of Hundreds Of Kilometers; We Will Use Them Against Israel 'Soon'

On June 29, 2025, the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia posted a message on its official Telegram channel announcing that it possessed surface-to-surface missiles with ranges of hundreds of kilometers, and threatened to use them against Israel "soon," in response to its attacks on civilians and infrastructure facilities. The channel did not mention which attacks it was referring to. Additional Telegram channels affiliated with the militia posted messages in which they wrote that the weapons referred to are from the army of former Syrian president Bashar Assad and that the militia's decision to reveal that it possesses them is "a very clear message," i.e. an overt threat to Israel.
The following is a review of posts that refer to the missiles from the Telegram channel of the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia and additional Telegram channels affiliated with it, that appeared between June 22 and 29, 2025.
On June 22, 2025, the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia posted a message on its Telegram channel saying that it would soon share a taped speech delivered by its Commander-in-Chief Abu Jihad Ridha. The poster that accompanied the announcement shows a black silhouette partially obscuring what appears to be a surface-to-surface missile.[1] Later on the same day, a message on the Al-'Uqab (Eagle) Telegram channel, which is affiliated with the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia, referred to the poster, stating that the missile depicted is a Tishreen (M-600 surface-to-surface ballistic) missile and that the poster indicates that the organization has "Syrian military capabilities" [i.e. capabilities that are similar to those possessed by former president Assad's Syrian Armed Forces].[2]
In his pre-recorded speech, which was posted on June 24, Ridha threatened to attack "every Zionist in Syria and outside it," and declared, "We have the capabilities to reach you and there is no ground border to stop us."[3]
On June 29, 2025, the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia posted a short video on its Telegram channel that shows photographs of surface-to-surface missiles that it claims to possess, including: an Al-Joulan [Golan] 1 missile with a range of 600 km; an Al-Joulan 2 missile with a range of 880 km; a Tishreen [October] missile with a 300 km range; and a Ba's [Courage] missile with a range of 180 km.
The first part of the video shows photographs of what appear to be Israeli attacks on urban areas, alongside Hebrew text that reads: "Bombing, destruction, destruction of infrastructures, killing and displacement, this is what you did." Later in the video, photographs of the missiles that are allegedly in the possession of the militia are shown, and their names and the maximum distances they can travel are listed, with text in Hebrew which reads: "Now see the beautiful thing. This is but a small part of what we have."
At the end of the video there is an image of what appears to be a countdown timer for an explosive device. When it reaches zero, the image of a large explosion is shown, alongside text in Hebrew that reads: "Ready?" The text in the post that accompanies the video reads in Hebrew: "Ready? The date is close."[4]
Meanwhile, the Dad telegram channel, which describes itself as "the Syrian National Media Agency" and is affiliated with the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria - Formidable in Might militia, referred to the video described above and wrote that the militia had shown the Al-Joulan, Tishreen, and Ba's Al-Jalil missiles, including their ranges, and declared: This is "a very clear message" [i.e. to Israel].[5]

Iranian Academic Dr. Alam Saleh: If Iran Fails To Achieve Nuclear Deterrence, Israel Will Continue To Attack It; Iran Must Take 'Serious Nuclear Measures'

Iranian academic Dr. Alam Saleh, Middle East Studies Professor at the Australian National University, said in a June 25, 2025 appearance on Al-Jazeera Network that if Iran wants to achieve military deterrence, it must take "serious nuclear measures" to prevent further attacks like those it has faced from Israel and the U.S. He said that as long as Israel can attack Iran without suffering any meaningful retaliation, the war will not end quickly or easily. Saleh noted that Israel has been launching strikes in Syria and across the region day and night for over a decade, and if Iran fails to achieve nuclear deterrence, such attacks will continue. He emphasized that Iran cannot abandon its red lines, including uranium enrichment inside Iran, because doing so would strip the country of its deterrent power and ability to retaliate if attacked. Alam Saleh: "The balance of power between Iran and Israel and the U.S. has changed now. If Iran wants to achieve military deterrence, it must take serious nuclear measures that will prevent such attacks. "As long as the Israelis can attack Iran without suffering greater defeats, this will probably continue for a long time, and this ceasefire will be fragile and temporary, and [the war] will not end so easily or quickly. As we have seen in Syria and elsewhere in the region, the Israelis have been attacking wherever they want, day and night, for over a decade. Even today, after the fall of Bashar Al-Assad, they continue to attack various military locations in Syria. So, if Iran fails to achieve nuclear deterrence, Israel will no doubt continue to carry out such attacks in the future. [...] "There is no doubt, particularly after these attacks, that Iran cannot give up its red lines, including the enrichment of uranium inside Iran. It knows very well that if this happens, it will change completely the balance of power between Iran and Israel and the U.S., and Iran will have no power of deterrence, and will not be able to retaliate if attacked."

Iraq to carry out new projects to increase oil exports

Baghdad ( – The Iraqi Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, highlighted on Monday the need to increase Iraq's oil export outlets by developing projects that improve export capacity and allow greater flexibility in exceptional scenarios. Abdul-Ghani's remarks took place during a meeting of the ministry's Advisory Board, when he stressed the importance of expanding and maintaining the country's export capability, which serves as the principal source of revenue for the state budget, Al-Arabiya News reported. Since crude oil supplies through the Turkish port of Ceyhan were stopped, Iraq's crude oil exports have been limited for years to the Arabian Gulf's primary outlets in the southern part of the country. The federal government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) were at odds over financial returns, marketing strategies, and how to settle disputes with foreign oil corporations operating in Iraqi Kurdistan. If the regional conflict increases, Iran blocks international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and Iraq stops exporting its crude oil at a pace of more than 3.2 million barrels per day, Iraq will be in serious danger. Iraq's integrated national energy strategy for 2013–2030 called for increasing its crude oil exports to 3.75 million barrels per day through ports on the Mediterranean and the Red Sea via a pipeline infrastructure that passes via Syria, Turkey, and Jordan. Nevertheless, the financial circumstances in Iraq hindered the implementation of these objectives. Iraq may stop exporting its oil to international markets, especially those in Asia, where it makes up around 70 percent of all oil exports, especially to China and India, as a result of the region's growing dangers, which include threats to block the Strait of Hormuz. Given that more than 90 percent of Iraq's annual federal budget needs are met by oil export earnings, this would put the country at risk of a serious financial disaster.
