Time has finally come for victims of terror ecosystem to get justice: J&K L-G
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha said on Sunday that time has finally come when the families of victims of terrorists and terror ecosystem in the union territory will get the much-awaited justice. Addressing a large number of family members of terror victims in Anantnag town on Sunday, the L-G said: "Jammu and Kashmir administration especially the security forces have created a peaceful atmosphere so that the victims of terror ecosystem can share their pain and get the much awaited justice. I am here to tell you today that finally your wait for justice has ended. To begin with, all those victims of terrorism who did not get compassionate appointment in government service must submit their applications to concerned district magistrates within the next few days. "If some victim family has not received compassionate appointment so far, such a family would get compassionate appointment for a member within the next 30 days. If any youth of such a family wants to start a business of his/her own, he/she will get financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana without any collateral. The administration will do their hand holding." L-G Sinha also said: "If some of the victim families feel that the killer of their father or brother is still at large and employed in government job, IGP (Kashmir) is here today. Such a family member should give application to the IGP, the involved person would he booked and dismissed from government service if he is a government employee. If terrorists or their sympathisers have occupied your house or property, please come forward and the administration will help you claim your right on such properties so that these are restored to you. 'I appeal to you to come forward and submit your grievance against terrorists or their sympathisers. I am also instructing the IGP that people of different districts should be able to file such grievances before the concerned district magistrate and the SSP. The country that has made terrorism its state policy is unable to provide two square meals to its citizens while India is progressing by leaps and bounds." The L-G further said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, deserving people in every part of the country including Jammu and Kashmir are getting food and medical care free of cost. "Kashmir has been connected through rail link, new roads and highways have been made, places without electricity have got electricity and based on merit and without favour, deserving youth have got government jobs, others have got self-employment. 'Fruits of development have reached poor families and I have been witness to such families whose destiny has been changed under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Our neighbouring country is supporting terrorism while its citizens are starving. Pakistan is rated as the biggest beggar country today while our country is rated as the 4th biggest economy. Our youth are excelling in academics and different professions while Pakistan is sending its youth to terror training camps. 'After April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, under Operation Sindoor, our armed forces went deep into Pakistan and destroyed 9 terrorist infrastructures. When things escalated, we destroyed 11 army/defence bases of Pakistan. Pakistan stands warned that any future act of terrorism will be treated as an act of war by India. It is time that you (families of terror victims) gather courage and come forward to expose those who have now changed faces and are living as 'respectable citizens in J&K'," the Jammu and Kashmir L-G said. Speaking further, he said: "We have heard and felt the pain of those families whose dear ones were killed since 1990 at the behest of those against whom even routine FIRs in many cases were not registered. Large processions would be carried out during the funerals of terrorists and the terror ecosystem had established and entrenched itself well in Kashmir. "Those killed by terrorists would get no mourners and even burial ground became difficult for victims of terrorists to find. This also we heard from the families we met here today. A false narrative was created which said the terrorists are victims while police and the army are the enemies of the people. Under pressure from Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists, the cries of the victims were suppressed and those cries we have heard today here. 'We have heard some stories of human sufferings today. Others would have perhaps more painful stories to narrate those were suppressed through the then prevailing terror ecosystem. I am thankful to 'Save Youth, Save Future' organisation that organised today's function. This organisation has taken appreciable effort to trace the victims of terrorism from different parts of J&K so that the truth is told to the nation and also to the international community." Before the address of the Lt Governor in Anantnag town where he met the families of terror victims since 1990 at the local degree college, members of victim families narrated horrifying stories of their sufferings at the hands of terrorists and terror ecosystem in Kashmir.

"Celebration of unity and hope": PM Modi on organisation of Bodoland CEM Cup
New Delhi [India], June 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the transformative power of sports in Bodoland, Assam. He painted a vivid picture of the Bodoland Chief Executive Member's (CEM) Cup. This football tournament has become a celebration of unity and hope, attracting over 3,700 teams and nearly 70,000 participants, including a significant number of girls, during the 123rd episode of 'Mann Ki Baat.' 'Imagine a picture. The morning sun is touching the hills, the light is slowly moving towards the plains, and with that light, a troupe of football lovers is advancing. The whistle blows and in a few moments, the ground reverberates with applause and slogans. People's enthusiasm is increasing with every pass, every goal. You must be wondering... what a beautiful world is that?' said PM Modi. He said that Bodoland has emerged with a new identity, showcasing the energy and confidence of its youth on the football field. 'This picture is the reality of Bodoland, a major region of Assam. Bodoland today stands out in the country with a new face, a new identity. The energy and confidence that the youth here have, is most visible on the football field. In the Bodo Territorial Area, the Bodoland CEM Cup is being organized. This is not just a tournament; it has become a celebration of unity and hope. More than three thousand seven hundred teams, about seventy thousand players, and even among them, a large number of our daughter's participation! These statistics tell the story of a big change in Bodoland. Bodoland is now increasingly casting its glow on the sports map of the country,' added PM Modi. The tournament has provided a platform for young talents to shine, with players like Halicharan Narzary, Durga Boro, Apurba Narzary, and Manbir Basumatari making their mark at the national level. 'There was a time when struggle itself was the identity of this place. Then the avenues for the youth here were limited. But today there are new dreams in their eyes and the courage of self-reliance in their hearts. The football players hailing from here are now making their mark at a high level. Halicharan Narzary, Durga Boro, Apurba Narzary, Manbir Basumatari - these are not just the names of football players - they are the identity of that new generation who catapulted Bodoland from the field to the national stage,' added PM Modi. Bodoland CEM Cup Football Tournament is an initiative by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) with a commitment to leveraging sports as a vehicle for social transformation, designed to foster unity, promote peace, and nurture football talent across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), according to the Bodoland CEM Cup official website. The tournament is organised at multiple administrative levels, including Village Council Development Committees (VCDCs), BTCLA Constituencies, Districts, and the council level, ensuring widespread participation and accessibility. The participation of girls in the tournament signifies a positive shift towards gender inclusivity in sports. The success stories of football players from Bodoland are inspiring young children to pursue their dreams in sports. 'Many of them practiced with limited resources; many forged their way through difficult circumstances, and today many young children of the country kickstart their dreams, inspired by their names. If we have to expand our capability, first of all we have to focus on our fitness and wellbeing,' said PM Modi. PM Modi linked physical fitness to success in life, encouraging citizens to prioritise their health and wellbeing, emphasising the importance of fitness and wellbeing, suggesting simple measures like reducing oil intake to combat obesity and lead a healthier life. 'By the way, friends, do you remember one of my suggestions for fitness, for reducing obesity! Reduce 10% oil in food, reduce obesity. When you'll be fit, you will be more super hit in life,' added PM Modi. (ANI)

"Reverence and affability": PM Modi highlights India's initiative to share sacred relics of Lord Buddha with Vietnam
New Delhi [India], June 29 (ANI): In the 123rd Episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted India's initiative to share the sacred relics of Lord Buddha with Vietnam has sparked a cultural and spiritual phenomenon, with over 1.5 crore people visiting the relics at nine different locations across the country. The event has evolved into a national festival in Vietnam, highlighting the profound influence of India's cultural heritage on the global stage. 'During the last few days, many people from Vietnam sent me their messages through various mediums. There was reverence and affability in every line of these messages. Their feelings were heartwarming. They were expressing their gratitude to India for enabling darshan of the holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha. The emotions in their words were more than any formal thanks,' said PM Modi. The relics were originally discovered at Nagarjunakonda in Andhra Pradesh, a site deeply connected to Buddhism and a hub for international pilgrims in ancient times. 'Originally these sacred relics of Bhagwan Buddha were discovered at Nagarjunakonda of Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh. This place has a deep connection with Buddhism. It is said that once upon a time, people from far-off places including Sri Lanka and China used to come to this place,' said PM Modi. The sharing of these relics with Vietnam underscored the deep cultural and spiritual ties between the two nations, fostering a greater understanding and reverence for Indian heritage. Despite challenging weather conditions, people from all walks of life, including children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, queued for hours to pay their respects. The President of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister, and senior ministers also paid obeisance, underscoring the significance of this event. The overwhelming response led the Vietnamese government to request an extension of the event by 12 days, which India graciously accepted. 'Last month these holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha were taken from India to Vietnam. They were kept for public darshan at 9 different places there. In a way, this initiative of India became a national festival for Vietnam. You can imagine that in Vietnam, which has a population of about 10 crore people, more than 1.5 crore people had a darshan of the holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha. The pictures and videos that I saw on social media made me realize that devotion has no limits. Be it rain or the scorching sun, people stood in queues for hours. Children, the elderly, differently-abled people, everyone was overwhelmed. The President of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister, senior ministers, everyone paid obeisance. The feeling of respect among the people there for this pilgrimage was so deep that the Vietnamese government requested to extend it for another 12 days and India gladly accepted it.' he said. PM Modi encouraged people to visit Buddhist sites in their states, emphasising the spiritual and cultural enrichment such visits can provide. The sharing of Buddha's relics with countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Mongolia demonstrates the power of Buddhism to bridge cultures and nations. 'The thoughts of Bhagwan Buddha have the power to bind countries, cultures and people together. Earlier, the holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha were taken to Thailand and Mongolia, and the same feeling of reverence was felt there as well. I urge all of you to visit Buddhist sites in your state definitely. It will be a spiritual experience, as well as a wonderful opportunity to connect with our cultural heritage,' added PM Modi. The sacred relics of the Buddha from Sarnath have been on a tour of Vietnam from May 3 to June 2. The original plan was to display the relics in Vietnam until May 21, but on a special request by the Vietnamese Government, the exposition has been extended until June 2. On a deeply emotional and spiritually charged day, the sacred relics of the Lord Buddha arrived at Yen Tu Pagoda in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, marking the seventh leg of their profound pilgrimage from India to Vietnam. Their journey, which began with reverence and celebration in Ho Chi Minh City on May 2, has now reached a crescendo at one of Vietnam's most sacred spiritual sites. This sacred arrival marks the first time many Vietnamese have witnessed the holy relics of the Enlightened One, and for them, it signifies the beginning of a lifetime's spiritual journey. People have travelled for hours from far locations and have waited in queues since 4 AM to get a glimpse of the Sarnath relic. (ANI)
