Hibs unveil brand new limited edition 1875 Heritage Top
This special piece pays tribute to the first Hibs kit ever worn.
The Club's first recorded match took place against Hearts on Christmas Day and in the lead-up to the fixture, the Club's members were informed to bring a cap and a white Guernsey (knitted woollen sweater) with a harp on the left breast.
150 years later, Hibs are releasing this special collectable to celebrate our iconic roots.
Produced by Technical Partner Joma, the top features Hibs 150th Anniversary symbol which is stitched into the fabric on the left breast of the shirt – as it would've been 150 years ago.
The shirt also includes a special white-on-white Joma badge, classic collar and subtle details embedded into the design to complete the piece.
In total, 1875 shirts will be available to purchase – each completely unique to the next – with a specific number printed onto the inside of the collar.
Supporters can catch a glimpse of the 1875 Heritage Top for the first time at the St Mary's Street Hall Exhibition as Hibs celebrate the Club's official founding date at the birthplace of Hibernian FC.
The 1875 Heritage Top will be available to purchase in-store and online from 10am on Friday 8 August.

Hibs have started the season brightly and fans have been buoyed by another new signing ahead of their latest clash. After signing Scotland international Grant Hanley earlier this week, Miguel Chaiwa has strengthened the midfield on a permanent basis after time at Young Boys in Switzerland. His arrival fuels the good mood around Leith after beating Dundee 2-1 in their Premiership opener, and following that up with a stunning 2-0 Conference League third round qualifier first leg win at Partizan Belgrade. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Next up is Kilmarnock at Easter Road before the return leg with Serbian opposition next week. In the meantime, here are the latest Leith-themed transfer headlines, including a shock football return for an ex Hibs and Sunderland man. Why Miguel Chaiwa has signed for Hibs Head coach David Gray's new midfielder has promised a combative style that will add an extra edge to the middle of the park. Chaiwa told Hibs TV: 'From what I've experienced so far, [I expect it to be] intense, with more duels. It's going to be exciting for me. For me, I might describe myself as more of a box-to-box player. "I'm creative, able to eliminate players and full of energy - and not scared to go into duels. That's me. I'm really, really excited to play and to be with the squad. I can't wait for it. And if the coach gives me a chance, I have to prove it. 'I'm really, really happy to be here. Looking at how they welcome me, it's been more like a family welcome. So I'm really, really happy and excited to be here. I believe in every life, in football, there is always a new chapter. So I decided to carry on in a new chapter, and in a new environment for me." Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Anthony Stokes returns to football Former striker Anthony Stokes has returned to football - at Conor McGregor's pub team. He made 38 appearances for Sunderland at the start of his career and also featured prominently for Celtic. Over multiple spells at Hibs, Stokes scored 46 goals in 94 games, helping them win the Scottish Cup in 2016. Since last being spotted playing professionally at Livingston, off the field issues have plagued him. Already back in 2013, the ex Republic of Ireland international was handed a two-year suspended sentence for headbutting a man in Dublin. The striker has also admitted to stalking a former girlfriend and that resulted in five months in prison during 2024 for breaching court orders in relation to the offence. There was then a 15 month prison sentence in 2024 after being found with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine after a high speed chase, also over the alcohol limit. A community service order was imposed after the sentence was suspended entirely. The striker has announced on social media his move to Black Forge FC, a pub team at Conor McGregor's Black Forge Inn pub, where the fighter famed in the UFC has featured on occasion. Stokes said: "Better get the dust knocked off the boots." Marvin Ekpiteta to MK Dons reaction MK Dons sporting director Liam Sweeting believes the English League Two club have come up trumps after sealing a permanent move for Hibs defender Marvin Ekpiteta. The former Blackpool man played 17 times in his sole year at Easter Road and has returned south of the border. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad He said: 'Our aim this summer has been clear – bring in real quality that will raise the level of the squad, and Marvin ticks every box. He's played at different levels in England and Scotland, he's a leader, and he brings something unique to our defensive unit. His games played and promotions tell you everything about his professionalism, consistency and winning mentality. 'Marvin is a defender who loves defending – he's powerful, athletic, dominant in the air, and we believe those qualities will give us greater solidity and presence at the back. We're excited to see the impact he'll make both on the pitch and in the dressing room.'

How Hibs benefit if Aston Villa sanction John McGinn transfer exit as Everton interest addressed
Everton and Newcastle United are two sides said to be interested in the Hibs and Scotland favourite. Sign up to our Hibs football newsletter Sign up Thank you for signing up! Did you know with a Digital Subscription to Edinburgh News, you can get unlimited access to the website including our premium content, as well as benefiting from fewer ads, loyalty rewards and much more. Learn More Sorry, there seem to be some issues. Please try again later. Submitting... Hibs stand to benefit if John McGinn is allowed to leave Aston Villa this summer - with Everton one of the sides keen. The Scotland hero started out at St Mirren and moved on to Easter Road for a memorable three year spell, where he won the Scottish Cup and Championship. McGinn has now made himself Aston Villa captain, remaining with the Villans since joining them in 2018 while playing Championship football, embarking on a journey that's included Champions League action. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Now Everton boss David Moyes is said to be keen on a deal, with Newcastle United also monitoring the situation. Talk of an £18m bid has surfaced and the interested has been addressed on Sky Sports, with Hibs likely keeping track of developments. As part of the deal that clinched a move to Aston Villa, Hibs bagged a sell on fee of 15%, with St Mirren due 30% of that. Even with the Buddies taking a chunk, a substantial eight figure move would spark a cash windfall in Leith. John McGinn to Everton addressed Presenter Mark McAdam said: 'If you speak to anyone at the top of Aston Villa, they'll say not for sale. Club captain, absolutely no chance. We don't want to lose him. He's going into the final two years of his Aston Villa contract. We know how important he is to Unai Emery and that team, not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well. He's an exceptional captain, exceptional leader, and someone that really brings and gels that dressing room together. 'But you can understand why there is interest in a player of his calibre and quality. David Moyes loves his leadership skills, loves his experience, and of course, that versatility, because he can play in multiple positions as well. So that's why there is that attraction to someone who I guess they maybe felt like they could tease out of Aston Villa. We know that Aston Villa have to be respectful and mindful of FFP and PSR at the moment as well because of their current situation. 'And maybe there will be one or two clubs that just try and tempt them with an offer. He is 30 years old. Now, he's not got a huge resale value, although we've been saying for years that resale value doesn't exist. Look at Son-Heung min going to LAFC for £20m at 33. So, if you're the right type of player, you've got the right type of global profile, there is still value there. Every time I talk about John McGinn, Hibs fans message me and say, what's happening? What's happening? Is he going? Because obviously for them, that chunk of money could be quite substantial for them to reinvest as well.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad John McGinn transfer prediction Former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw was also on the panel and made a prediction that would be music to the ears of the Easter Road coffers. He wonders if £30m could tempt Aston Villa into selling to Everton, which would bank Hibs a cool sum just over the £3m mark even with the St Mirren percentage to factor in. He added: 'There's still value there. John McGinn is an interesting one because this is my take on it. Everton have gone in and said, listen, would you take 18 million? I think if they up it, there'll be more of a discussion because he's a quality player, quality leader, fits Everton perfectly. Does £30m tempt you? I think there'll be more conversations with that. 'He's excellent. What you're going to get from McGinn is absolute heart, quality at the right time, leadership. But also, I think he's underrated in terms of he's all round, he's tackles, he's creating, he'll give the pass before the final pass. He adds so much to a team and of course, Aston Villa is not going to want him to leave, absolutely not. Maybe the right price, they might look at it, but as footballing-wise, no, no chance. I don't think he actually leaves, but there'll be some discussions and temptation for sure if the price goes up higher.'

Jimmy Thelin challenges Aberdeen to replicate Celtic DNA as boss bids to make sure Scottish Cup win is no one off
The Dons lost the opening league game at Hearts and they now welcome Brendan Rodgers' men to Pittodrie this weekend Jimmy Thelin wants to make sure Aberdeen aren't one season wonders. The Scottish Cup winners come back in fresh after lifting the trophy for the first time in 35 years. It brought a silver-lined end to Thelin's first season. Now, it is about trying to maintain those lofty standards or even surpassing them. The Aberdeen manager said: 'I think it's a great competition here in Scotland. There are a lot of good teams. 'Aberdeen have been in some finals. Now it was good to win something again for some years. 'To be a club that can push for that is difficult. Of course there were some years they won the Cup, but they have been close. 'That's the push and the excitement everybody has to feel and believe in. If you have a good season, a final is always a final. It's something else. 'But to arrive at semi-finals and finals, that's an ambition we have. When you arrive to a final, you have the chance. 'It's always special games. There are so many other things that come into a final. I think the players that we sign can see that Aberdeen have been there sometimes. 'Now we have won a trophy. Now we want to try to do it again and give us a chance to be there.' Aberdeen lost their league opener to Hearts and it doesn't get any easier with Brendan Rodgers squad heading north this afternoon. They can get this game out of the way and park the Premiership for a couple of weeks. Revenge might be on the visiting menu, but Thelin has nothing of respect for the job Rodgers has done. He knows Aberdeen could learn a lot from what he has achieved. He has taken Celtic to another level and how Aberdeen are looking to eventually get to those lofty levels. 'I think we had the answer on Sunday,' the Aberdeen boss claimed. 'Celtic have had the same manager for some years now and have a clear vision of how they want to play. 'Everything is aligned, the recruitment. You see the new players, they are straight into the ideas. 'Of course they have individual skills that are a bit different, but they have been consistent in some positions also. 'That's what we are aiming for here. Also to try to catch the things we want and try to be a little bit longer term in some areas. 'Now we are in a transition phase, if I can say that is the right word. That's why I said we have this three-year plan. 'We have to do it step-by-step. We can't turn around exactly what we want in one season. We are in the middle of this now, in the second year. 'We have our direction and we keep pushing for that one, but try to be competitive during this journey also. 'I think it's important to be really clear what you want to achieve and try to keep the direction, even if the competitive game is coming and coming again. 'Otherwise you're never going to grow and achieve the level you want to.' Thelin changed his tactics for the first time and played a did the job against Celtic at Hampden. He will be looking to come up with another masterplan for this weekend.. Thelin confirmed: 'Of course, there are some areas we want to protect better and Celtic have a really clear way of playing and a clear strategy. 'When you are really good at something, sometimes you can know but it is still difficult to stop . 'That is a journey we also want to improve ourselves, to keep working on our identity to be expert in something. 'And then speed up the process and time inside the team – that is our direction.'
