THIS is the shocking moment an ex-footballer riding an e-bike ploughed into a grandmother crossing the road.

Kian Monks, then aged 19, barrels towards her at around 40mph on a Talaria Sting e-bike.
The grandmother was thrown several metres through the air and smashed her head on the pavement.
A distressed 999 caller could be heard telling a dispatch officer: "She's in the middle of the road, she's just been knocked over.
"Her head's open, there's blood everywhere, she is breathing, the lad's trying to run away, the one who knocked her over. It's not good."
Cowardly Monks was filmed by members of the public as he fled from the scene down an alleyway.
When officers caught up to the thug his face was covered in blood.
He tried to plead innocence and told police: "I wasn't driving, it wasn't me. I've hit my head. I've hurt my head and my jaw."
The teen had been riding the Talaria Sting, which had its speed limiter disconnected, alongside Joel Pilling, 22.
Pilling handed himself in to police later the same day.
Margaret was rushed to hospital with a broken spine, pelvis, arms and 19 broken ribs.
She was placed in a coma with life-changing injuries.
The 70-year-old who was once "independent" and "always had a smile" is now unable to feed herself.
Both Monks and Pilling appeared at Bolton Crown Court yesterday.
Monks, now 22, was sentenced to 22 months in prison, after pleading guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving and driving with no licence or insurance.

The £3,795 Talaria Sting e-bike is considered a motor vehicle under the law and requires insurance.
He was also found guilty of failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision and failing to provide a specimen for analysis following a serious collision.
Pilling, who owned the motorbike but held no licence, was given a 22-month sentence, suspended for two years.
He must also carry out 250 hours of unpaid work.
In an emotional statement after the sentencing, Margaret said: "These men's selfishness have ruined my life.
"Before the collision I was an independent lady and always had a smile on my face.
"Now my life is dehumanising, reduced to a long list of hospital appointments with no end in sight and I can no longer walk wash or feed myself.
"No sentence will bring back my health. But I will not let them beat me as I am determined to recover the best I can."
Det Const Steve Pennington, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a shocking incident where two individuals recklessly rode an e-bike through one of Wigan's busiest areas with complete disregard for public safety.
"Their dangerous driving resulted in a horrific collision with a grandmother who was simply crossing the road.
"She suffered life-changing injuries and spent weeks in a coma - it's nothing short of miraculous that she survived.
"This incident highlights the severe consequences of operating e-bikes illegally on our roads.
"These aren't toys - they're powerful vehicles that require proper licensing, safety equipment, and responsible handling.
"Riding without these essentials isn't just breaking the law - it's putting lives at risk.
"At GMP we're committed to reducing serious and fatal collisions across our region.
"We actively support national road safety initiatives like the Fatal 4 campaign, targeting the four main causes of serious road incidents: speeding, using mobile phones, not wearing seatbelts, and driving under the influence.
"Road safety is everyone's responsibility, and the consequences of ignoring this can be truly catastrophic."

YOBS who terrorise towns with off-road bikes, e-scooters and cars will have them crushed within 48 hours under new police powers.
Ministers plan to reduce the time cops can destroy thugs' vehicles from two weeks to two days so they have less chance to retrieve them.
Officers have complained that the current 14-day window creates a 'revolving door' where louts have time to reclaim their bikes and cars to keep wreaking havoc.
The Home Office has launched a consultation on their proposals to tackle the scourge of anti-social behaviour blighting communities.
Policing Minister Dame Diana Johnson said: 'Anti-social and reckless driving brings misery to communities across the country, from dangerous street racing to off-road bikes tearing through local parks.
"By enabling police to seize and dispose of these vehicles within just 48 hours, we're giving our officers the tools they need to deliver immediate results and providing communities the swift justice they deserve.'
Labour are also looking to hike the fines for the cost of seizing, towing and crushing vehicles.
Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has already announced powers for police to seize bikes, e-scooters and cars without warning.
The problem of nuisance driving has become so bad that some forces have launched dedicated operations to combat it.
Operation Vulcan in Oldham has been targeting e-bikes, four of which were seized after their drivers were arrested for drug supply.
National Police Chiefs' Council Lead for Roads Policing, Chief Constable Jo Shiner, said: 'Anti-social use of a vehicle, such as street racing, street cruising or off-road use is more than a matter of noise pollution.
'It can have long-term effects on a neighbourhood, with the criminal damage of roads, other vehicles and surrounding property.'

Colin Pitchfork was jailed for life in 1988 for raping and murdering teens Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in Leicestershire. He was the first person in the world to be arrested and convicted using DNA evidence. Pitchfork grew up in Newbold Verdon, Leicestershire, before moving to Littlethorpe when he got married. He worked there as an apprentice baker and had two sons with his wife. Pitchfork famously left one son sleeping in the back of his car while he raped and murdered his first victim, Lynda, before driving home and putting the baby to bed. Prior to marrying his wife, Pitchfork had been convicted of indecent exposure and had been referred for therapy at a local hospital. Who were Colin Pitchfork's victims? Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth were killed by Pitchfork. Both young women were just 15 years old when they were murdered. Cops arrested Richard Buckland, a local 17-year-old with learning difficulties who knew Dawn, shortly after her body was found. However, DNA evidence proved Buckland was innocent and eventually led to Pitchfork's arrest. Pitchfork pleaded guilty to the rape and murder of both teens and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years in 1988. 3 Dawn Ashworth was killed by Pitchfork in 1986 In 2009, his sentence was reduced, on appeal, to 28 years. But she soon realised that his name was fake and it was all a ploy to hand over her money. Now three years on, the sextortion scammer is still hounding Susan for money. She says that within one month, the conversation turned sexual - after he started asking what her type was and what sex positions she liked. Susan - who is married to John, 40 - claims the man asked her to send nude photos, telling her if she didn't send them, he would leak their conversations. After she sent him a naked photo, Susan claims he started blackmailing her for money, and told her if she didn't send it, he would leak her intimate photos. Sextortion is a type of online blackmail in which criminals threaten to share sexual pictures, videos, or information about a person unless they pay money. Over three years, Susan says she sent the stranger £40 to £65 at a time - which added up to £11,200 in total. In June 2025, Susan finally confessed what she had been going through to her family and they helped her contact the FBI, who are investigating. Susan, a former jewellery business owner, from Schaumburg, Chicago, Illinois, said: "I feel relieved that I've been able to speak to my family. "It is so hard to get out of the scam - they threaten you constantly. "Every time my phone rang, every time my husband got a text, I was worried that something was happening." In 2022, Susan was selling items online when she received a Facebook request from a man she didn't know. The mum-of-two accepted the friend request and soon received a message from him asking her how she was. She said: "It began with him asking how I was and he started saying my jewellery collection was beautiful. "Then he started asking sexual questions, he would ask what I like to do during sex, what partners I pick, and what I would like to do with him." Susan claims the stranger started asking her for sexual photos, which she refused to send at first, but insisted he threatened to leak their messages if she didn't. Out of fear of her family finding out, Susan continued to send money to the person who was bribing her. She said: "He said, 'unless you send me a picture, you can expect to see this on your Facebook page.' "He would ask me for sexual photos, and I sent them to him. Then he threatened that he would publish them unless I sent him money." Susan sent the first payment - which she says was for £40 - in November 2022. She says she would often send him small amounts, which he wasn't happy with. The torment got so bad that Susan had to close down her online business in December 2022. Susan said: "I sent him £40 in November just to keep him quiet and not leak our conversations. "He said he wanted £375 a month indefinitely. I said there was no way I could do that. "I bargained with him to make the amount smaller, but he kept asking for more. "I would send him 0 to £60 at a time, it was sporadic - sometimes I wouldn't pay, but he got threatening." In May 2025, he started messaging her again, but Susan stopped sending money and reported the case to the FBI to investigate. Susan said: "When he started texting me a few weeks ago, he said he was going to ruin me and I would have nothing to say about it. "The fact that he is still hounding me all these years later makes me think I won't be truly over with this until he is dead." Last month, Susan told her husband and family that she had been a victim of a scam. She said she feels "relieved" that her family know about it, as she would panic whenever her husband got a text or phone call, thinking it was from the scammer. Susan said: "I was really afraid to tell my family, but they have been so supportive, and been there for me "They told me to block him straight away. I can't let the torment carry on anymore. "It is so hard when they threaten you constantly, you just do what is asked because you're scared of the consequences." The FBI would not comment on the investigation. A plain-clothed US operative with an earpiece was heard saying that a "bunch of liquid" was being examined, and that a substance was being tested in the venue. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment. It comes on as Mr Trump officially opened a new golf course at his Aberdeenshire resort, saying he would play a quick round before returning to Washington to "put out fires all over the world". The US president teed off at The New Course in Menie in front of a crowd including golfers, the Scottish First Minister and the Scottish Labour leader.
