Liam Payne was remembered as a 'supremely gifted musician' at the BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard. The former One Direction singer passed away in October 2024 at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires at the age of 31, and the annual ceremony took a moment to remember the tragic star. Speaking live on stage at London's O2 Arena on Saturday (01.03.25), host Jack Whitehall said: 'It is now time to take a moment to remember a very special person who meant so much to the people in this room and to millions around the world. 'Last October, we woke to the devastating news that Liam Payne had tragically passed away. 'He achieved so much in the short time that he was on this earth, and was not only a supremely gifted musician but an incredible kind soul who touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with. 'We have so many amazing memories of Liam here at the BRITs, so tonight we celebrate his legacy and look back and remember the remarkable Liam Payne.' A montage of Liam's ascent to fame with the 'X Factor'-created boyband alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik then played as the late singer's rendition of 'Little Things' was heard in the background As part of One Direction, Liam had won British Single of the Year for 'What Makes You Beautiful' in 2011, and they would go on to win the BRITs Global Success award in 2013 and 2015. The band also won British Videoin 2015 for 'Best Song Ever' and British Artist Video Of The Year for 'You and I' in the same year. In 2016, they won British Artist Video Of The Year for 'Drag Me Down' and 'History' received the same accolade the following year. As a solo artist, Liam had been nominated for British Artist Video of the Year and British Single for 'Strip That Down' in 2018 and then received a British Artist Video of the Year nod for his 2019 music video 'For You' which featured Rita Ora.

In another set, taken at night, Styles was spotted in the crowd taking off his sweatshirt to reveal a gray shirt with a smiley face while sharing a glimpse of his multiple tattoos. Like most things that involve the former boy bander, fans couldn't help but share their opinions on Styles' rugged appearance — which included tousled hair and a mustache/ beard combo — and the comment section seemed divided. 'If I saw this man at a gas station, I wouldn't look twice,' one person wrote, while another commented: 'Blimey, he's aged about 20 years! Although I'm not complaining.' A third shared, 'Not a fan of his My Name Is Earl look.' Meanwhile, some fans admitted they found Styles more attractive now than ever before. 'I'm gonna be the outlier here and say he looks 1000 percent hotter with this rugged man look,' shared one Instagram user. 'I think he looks amazing,' another wrote. Many declared they were happy to see the Don't Worry Darling actor enjoying the festival — although there were a few who expressed their hope that Styles would be inspired to get back to making music himself. Robbie Williams brings surprise star guest out at Co-op Live gig in Manchester
Pop superstar Robbie Williams surprised fans at the first of his two Manchester Co-op Live gigs by bringing out a surprise star guest. Former Take That star Robbie is back in the city with his new Britpop Tour. Earlier gigs on the tour have seen a string of surprise guests join Robbie on stage - including boyband Five in London. He had earlier brought out Thom Rylance from Wigan's own The Lottery Winners, who played as the support at the start of the night, to perform a selection of acoustic versions of his biggest hits. And Thom remained on stage to play as Lucy joined the duo. Wearing a black leatherette suit, Lucy delighted the crowd singing along to the Take That chart-topper alongside Robbie. The pals embraced at the end of the song, as Robbie said: "Show her the love she deserves." Lucy appeared in The X Factor back in 2012 and has gone on to enjoy chart success as a solo artist. Meanwhile The Lottery Winners frontman Thom had earlier hailed the gig "the best night of my life" after playing the support slot at the sold out Co-op Live arena. When he rejoined Robbie on stage during the "C stage" section of the show, the two singers bantered about what their double act would be called, settling on "The Balls". Robbie returns to Co-op Live for the second of his two shows on Wednesday night.

With plenty of viral videos on TikTok, Slagen is known for sharing her baby-naming tips and opinions online—and from discussing "new mom names" to commenting on monikers related to pop culture (like The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives), it's easy to see why she's become such a sensation. Now, she's revealing which two specific names to avoid in 2025, what general baby naming trends she's not a fan of, and how to tell if you might benefit from using a name "I want to disclaim this because I really do like both of these names—they're popular for a reason," Slagen begins telling Parade. "But being in this job I can't help but try and push people to find a name other than Olivia and Liam (the #1 boy and girl names)." It makes sense that she'd encourage parents to think outside the box."I think it's so fun to try and find alternatives that parents could embrace if they keep an open mind," she continues. "The best way to change someone's mind about a name is a positive association. Of course, we're more likely to have a positive association with popular names so it's a positive feedback cycle."That being said, she has some suggestions for parents who are leaning toward Olivia and Liam."Alternatives can be names that have similar sounds, like Violet, Sylvia, Ophelia, Lydia, Olive or Vivian for Olivia," she explains. "Or names that have a similar style—other elegant, feminine names like Margot, Daphne, Juliet, Leona, Hollis.""For Liam, there are a lot of similar names that are also quite popular; Leo, Levi, Luca," she continues.
