Burnside Scouts get set for annual plant sale
A thriving Burnside community organisation is getting set for its popular annual plant sale event.
Young members and volunteers from 113th Glasgow (Burnside) Scouts troop will host the annual event on Sunday, May 11, from 10am to 1pm at their Crawfurd Road hall.
The annual fundraiser has been taking place for more than three decades, and organisers are promising this year's plant sale will have 'a bigger range and number of plants than ever before' after joining forces with a new nursery supplier.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy home baking in the tea room, and pick up bargains at further stalls including toys, games and pre-loved outdoor clothing and boots.
Hall users Ace Place nursery and after-school, who are currently celebrating 15 years in the Burnside community, will run face painting, a bouncy castle and fun activities for youngsters.
Members of the Scout group's various sections have been hard at work ensuring the hall and grounds are spruced up to look their best for the plant sale, with Beaver Scouts the latest to lend a hand to tidy up and ensure the flowers are in full bloom for the big day.
Plant sale organisers say: 'The sale starts promptly at 10am, with queues usually forming down the road, and will continue until all of the plants are sold.'
