He said: 'To be able to announce that I'm playing the Hydro on stage at TRNSMT, in front of the fans who've helped make it happen, is the stuff that dreams are made of.'
'Everything these days is about social media, so there's something special about telling folk about it live during a show, especially in the beautiful sunshine.'
The huge news follows the release of rollicking folk-pop banger Arabella, Nathan's first new single since the success of his sophomore album 1994, and the first to formalise his alchemic relationship with Saint Phnx – aka Alan and Stevie Jukes - as a collaborative single.
It's the logical conclusion of a songwriting partnership which hit a vein of gold in songs like Heather on the Hill, Highland Girl and Flowers In The Water, melding Nathan's love of folk and trad music with a rhythmic and dynamic pop sensibility which took the album to Number 1 in the Scottish charts.
Speaking about forming the group with them, Nathan said: 'Stevie and Alan have been a massive part of my journey since the beginning.'
'We wrote 'Told You So', my first single after Wellerman, together and we're more like brothers now.
"Two years ago I asked them to come on tour with me and it's just grown arms and legs from there.
"So now we're officially Nathan Evans and the Saint Phnx band and I get to travel the world making music with my best mates.
"You can't ask for better than that.'
Live, the combination is a 'potent force', creating a party atmosphere with a literal pub onstage, in ever-larger venues across the UK and Europe.
Two shows at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom last year sold out as soon as they went on sale..
Tickets are priced between £27.50 and £55.
Presale opens on Wednesday 16th July at 10am and fans can sign up here by Tuesday 15th at 10pm.
General sale opens Friday 18th July at 10am here.

I was struck by collapsing metal fence at UK beach amusement park – all I could hear was children screaming

Single mum Megan Cavanagh had taken her kids to the Coney Beach funfair in Porthcawl, Wales, on Wednesday but it ended in a terrifying ordeal. 5 Megan Cavanagh, 24, claims the fence fell straight on top of her Credit: WalesOnline/Media Wales 5 Pictures show adults helping children off the ride after it 'derailed' Credit: Wales News Service 5 13 children and one adult sustained minor injuries in the accident Credit: Wales News Service The single mother had arrived at the seaside funfair around 5pm on August 13, hoping to enjoy the rides and attractions with her young children and some family friends. However, not long into their visit Megan had to step away from the park after her young autistic daughter became unsettled by the loud noises. After a brief time away she re-joined her group near the Wacky Worm ride – a rollercoaster described as "the perfect first thrill ride for the kids". "I was just minding my own business," Megan said. 'I was standing with my back to the ride, talking to my friends, when it happened. It was all so sudden. 'We just heard this massive bang and children started screaming.' According to Megan the metal fence separating the ride from spectators collapsed unexpectedly – falling on top of her. 'The fence fell straight on top of me, hitting my back,' she said. 'I managed to push my friend's pram out of the way, which was right next to me. "I pushed the fence off myself and when I looked up all I could see were kids on the ride screaming.' Terrifying moment Scots carnival ride 'flies off track' with kids inside Megan added: "Parents were jumping on trying to get their kids off – it was awful. "I'm just grateful I took my daughter away earlier because otherwise we would have been on that ride too.' Megan said she was checked by staff and advised to attend hospital if the pain continued but chose to return home, citing a lack of childcare and describing the pain at the time as 'just aches'. South Wales Police later confirmed that 13 children and one adult sustained minor injuries, with some sent to hospital for further treatment. Megan added: 'I'm planning to go to the doctor. I struggled to sleep last night from the pain so I am going to see how I feel. 'None of this is what you'd expect from what is supposed to be a family trip out.' In a statement, Coney Beach Pleasure Park said previously it was instructed by police to clear the site after an incident on a "third-party ride" not owned by the park. It apologised for the disruption and said it will provide refunds to affected customers as soon as possible. A statement added: "Due to an incident on a third-party ride not owned by Coney Beach, we were instructed by the police to clear the site for further investigation. "We apologise for the disruption and will be providing refunds to affected guests as soon as possible. We will be releasing instructions on refunds shortly. "We thank you for your cooperation." ITV viewers gripped by 'mind-blowing' sci-fi series with 'superb acting' - and there are four seasons to sink your teeth into

ITV viewers have been gripped by a 'mind-blowing' sci-fi series with 'superb acting' - and there are four seasons to sink your teeth into. Roswell, New Mexico, based on Melinda Metz's novel Roswell High, first hit screens on US channel The CW back in 2019. The mystery drama, developed by Carina Adly Mackenzie, has aired 52 episodes across four series. IMDb's official synopsis states: 'Centres on a town where aliens with unearthly abilities live undercover among humans. 'But when a violent attack points to a greater alien presence, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose them.' It stars the likes of Jeanine Mason, Nathan Dean, Michael Vlamis, Lily Cowles, Tyler Blackburn and Heather Hemmens. ITV viewers have been gripped by a 'mind-blowing' sci-fi series with 'superb acting' - and there are four seasons to sink your teeth into Roswell, New Mexico , based on Melinda Metz's novel Roswell High, hit our screens on the US channel The CW back in 2019 The mystery drama, developed by Carina Adly Mackenzie, has aired 52 episodes across four series The show wrapped up in 2022, but if this sounds like your kind of programme, it's your lucky day because it has landed on ITVX. Roswell, New Mexico has got 77% on critic site Rotten Tomatoes and 61% on the popcornmeter. Many have taken online to share their positive thoughts about the series, with one saying: 'I put off watching it for years (although an alien buff). I thought Hollywood did Roswell to death, but this show is different. The storyline is well thought-out, and the acting is superb. My hat is off to the creators of this mind-blowing series.' Others have taken to IMDb, with one writing: 'I really enjoyed it. It was the perfect mix of nostalgia and something new. It took a bit to get used to the new cast, but I like them. As far as reboots go, this is a good one. 'No, it's not like the original. But that doesn't mean it's bad. Check it out. It's worth a watch.' 'As a massive fan of the original, I LOVED THIS. The chemistry between the characters is awesome. BIG FAN! Can't wait for more.' 'I really loved this!' 'I loved the show and will tune in each week. I give it 10 stars.' Many have rushed online to share their rare reviews on the show - with one saying 'I really loved this!' Roswell, New Mexico has got 77% on critic site Rotten Tomatoes and 61% on the popcornmeter 'LOVE THIS SHOW!!!' There is another TV show called Roswell which was on air between 1999 and 2002. 'The lives of three young alien/human hybrids with extraordinary gifts in Roswell,' IMDb's synopsis reads. Although it was a huge hit, it doesn't sound like it will be returning any time soon. Roswell, Mexico was cancelled in 2022, and that meant that the writers had to edit their scripts to make it an ending that fans would be happy with. Showrunner Chris Hollier told EW: 'This [finale] was intended to help launch us to a nice wrap-up of season five. 'More craziness would've followed.' He added: 'What does it mean when you start to find the people that you want to be with? How do you actually go and generate your own happy ever after? 'I loved where we were going to take those characters. 'We were talking about setting the ending multiple years in the future. It would've been another wrap-up with where all of our couples were.' However he did have plans to make another. He told Variety: 'I loosely had to pitch [the network] and had to get them to sign off on letting me [have Max] go away. And they're like, 'Well, when does he come back?' was the next question. 'They're our first audience. So yes, there was a plan actually, of how to round it out assuming that the fifth season would be our last. We had some time jumps built in to actually tell stories we've collapsed down into weeks. 'We wanted to actually stretch out and jump to three different times over the next couple of years for all of our characters. 'I'm very fortunate for the time we had, but you always feel like we had one more bullet in the chamber.' Watch Roswell, New Mexico, on ITVX.
