Summary
Between running a restaurant empire, starring in the Emmy Award-winning seriesThe Bear– set to premiere its fourth season later this month – and getting swept up in theGTA VIrumor mill, with reports suggesting he'll be a playable character, it's safe to say Matty Matheson keeps busy.
For his latest project, the Canadian cook and all-round cool guy has teamed up with the viral outdoor cooking brandGozneyto design his very own pizza oven – and the result is both appetizingly fun and unmistakably Matty.
Started in 2010 by itseponymous founder, Gozney's popularity has boomed in recent years thanks to fan-made videos that have racked up millions of views on social media. But Matheson's relationship with the British brand goes back over 10 years and, ina postteasing the collaboration on his Instagram, he said the project was 'a decade in the making.'
The collaboration sees the multi-hyphenate put his personal touch on one of Gozney's most popular products, theTread, a model the brand describes as 'hyper-portable' and 'ultra-rugged' and one that stars in many of the viral videos found online. The limited-editionMatty Matheson Signature Treadarrives in a signature 'Matty orange' colorway and features illustrations of a 'nostalgic cartoon world' –Matty's World– engraved onto its stainless steel exterior. The fun, lighthearted scene that adorns Matheson's take on the 'world's most portable pizza oven' was created byChris Wilson, one of his longtime collaborators.
Powered by propane, theMatty Matheson Signature Treadis small but mighty oven that's equally at home in your garden as it is in the back of your car. It weighs less than 30lbs and has a compact form factor that measures 12.6-inches high, 16.5-inches wide and 19.1-inches deep. Additionally, Gozney offers several accessories for the Tread including atravel bagmade from rugged nylon and reinforced on both the top and bottom and a quad-leggedtelescopic standwith die-castaluminum legs that fold down for portability among others – in all of these, the brand's considered approach to design is clear, from its choice of materials to the functionality (and sometimes modularity) of each item.
Matheson, who also fronts Gozney's current'Cook Different'campaign, said: 'Me and Tom Gozney go way back – imagine two great minds mashed into one great thing.' Tom Gozney, the brand's founder, added that the collaboration 'felt natural' and 'honestly overdue', and described the new product as being 'loud, bold, full of personality [...] while still delivering the world-class quality we're known for.'
TheMatty Matheson Signature Treadlaunches globally via Gozney'swebsiteand select retailers on June 11, priced at £549.99 GBP / $549.99 USD.

Loblaw pulls Folgers coffee from shelves over 'unjustified' cost increases

Shoppers at Loblaw Cos. Ltd.'s stores will soon no longer be able to get a coffee fix by purchasing Folgers-brand products after a pricing dispute prompted the grocer to pull them from its shelves. In an email sent to retailers on Wednesday, Loblaw said it decided to delist all Folgers products after talks with the coffee maker's manufacturer couldn't solve the impasse. "After several weeks of negotiations, we were unable to reach an agreement with the manufacturers of Folgers coffee regarding their significant and unjustified proposed price increases," said the email signed by Loblaw category director Suren Theivakadacham and obtained by The Canadian Press. "We are doing this because we are on the side of customers, and doing what we can to keep prices low ... This decision to delist Folgers coffee reflects our commitment to providing value for customers by not accepting unreasonable cost increases that would hurt Canadians." The email contained an attached list of alternative coffee products the grocer offers as stores prepare to update their shelves. The move comes as coffee prices continue to rise in Canada. Last month, Statistics Canada reported the price of coffee and tea was up 13.4 per cent in April on a year-over-year basis — outpacing both the 3.8 per cent increase in the cost of groceries that month, as well as Canada's overall inflation rate of 1.7 per cent. Experts say higher coffee prices are in part due to recent extreme weather and changes in temperature, which have caused some producers to experience lower yields. Other pressures include a weak Canadian dollar, making it more expensive to import coffee to Canada from other countries, along with the fact coffee is one of the products still subject to Canada's retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. While the U.S. isn't a major producer of coffee, Canadian distributors often purchase it from American brokers. Folgers products are made by the Orrville, Ohio-based J.M. Smucker Co., which raised prices of its coffee offerings both last June and October in response to higher costs it is facing. President and CEO Mark Smucker told analysts on the company's quarterly earnings call in February that more coffee price increases were likely on the way. He said pricing decisions are dictated by costs it faces. "Although we haven't laid out when other pricing is going to happen, we do expect it's going to happen in the next fiscal year, probably in the first half," Smucker said at the time. In a statement, the company said it has been experiencing "record high and sustained" prices of unroasted coffee beans. "Our pricing actions have been managed prudently and responsibly and have only been taken when justified by costs," said Smucker's spokesman Frank Cirillo in an email on Thursday. "We remain dedicated to working with all our retail partners to manage increased input costs while delivering value to our shared consumers." But Loblaw spokeswoman Catherine Thomas said Folgers' proposed cost increases were "unreasonable and unjustified based on underlying costs" and that the grocer felt it was important to push back as many Canadians continue to struggle with unaffordability. "Despite several attempts to address this with the manufacturer, we were not successful," Thomas said in a statement. "We will not accept or pass unjustified cost increases on to customers and therefore we have removed Folgers from our shelves ... We recognize this may create some inconvenience for customers and for that we apologize but again, we will do what is right to help address price increases." Thomas added Loblaw expects most of its stores to be out of stock of Folgers products over the next week or two. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 5, 2025. Gavin Newsom Meets Privately With Trump Ambassador Jon Voight in LA

Gov. Gavin Newsom and Jon Voight, one of President Donald Trump's three Hollywood ambassadors, met in Century City on Thursday to discuss the actor's 'Make Hollywood Great Again' proposal. A Newsom aide and a representative for Voight confirmed the meeting to Politico. 'They shared a commitment to working together to help to build up the film industry in the U.S. — particularly California and Los Angeles,' the outlet reported. Former Warner Bros. executive DeeDee Myers, who is director of the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, was also present. The meeting came as California's $750 million film tax credit plan remains in the air as state budget cuts have weighed down the process. The pair of California Film & TV Jobs Act bills passed their first floor votes in Sacramento this week, though it's unclear if Trump's tariffs and/or Los Angeles wildfire recovery efforts could impact the outcome. If successful, the bills would expand the types of productions that are eligible for tax incentives, offer a 35% tax rate to L.A.-based productions and increase the program's cap from $330 million to $750 million. Newsom also previously suggested a $7.5 billion film and TV national tax incentive program last month. 'The governor is fully committed to this proposed $750 million investment in California's film and television industry, which will protect good-paying jobs and support the workers who power the state's creative economy,' a spokesperson for Newsom said in a statement. The Oscar-winning actor's May proposal includes a carrot-and-stick approach, mixing tax incentives, foreign film tariffs and co-production treaties to encourage U.S. movie production. Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone are Trump's other two Hollywood ambassadors. TheWrap has reached out to Newsom and Voight's teams for further comment.
