Reviewers say these orthotic flip-flops, on sale for $25, are 'as good as Oofos'
When you have plantar fasciitis, you can never have too many orthotic flip-flops — am I right? As a former PF sufferer, I'm never without them or recovery slides. If you're like me and you're always on the lookout for a comfortable pair, Amazon's top-selling Aerothotic Flip-Flops might just be your new favorite sandals, whether you're headed to the beach or walking around the house. Shoppers adore them — even claiming they're better than top brands like Oofos. Ready for more good news? Right now, you can get them for as low as $25, down from $50.
If you've been waiting for these flip-flops to go on sale, you're not alone — this is a rare deal. The last time the price dropped on these was during the holidays. They start at 50% off, though note that prices vary by color and size.
I've gotten to the point that I can't let my feet touch a flat surface, or I risk having a plantar fasciitis flare-up — and a lot of people are facing that same reality, post-pandemic. Yahoo consulted an expert about this aching-feet epidemic: "During the pandemic, we noticed a dramatic increase in foot and ankle disorders due to barefoot walking in the home," says Dr. Rock G. Positano, director of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at the Joe DiMaggio Heel Pain Center at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. "As comfortable as it may seem, walking barefoot increases the amount of stress that the foot must absorb."
Having a pair of flip-flops ready anytime and anywhere is something I've accepted. Of course, the best ones almost always come with a hefty price tag, but Amazon shoppers really flip for these flip-flops. Cute and comfy, they offer a lot of support, thanks to their deep heel cups and polyurethane gel insoles. They also have padded straps and a nonslip sole to keep them secure and comfortable.
They've received over 30,000 five-star ratings, and they're not nearly as expensive as some widely-known brands.
"After wearing the first pair for 24 hours, I ordered another pair," gushed a rave reviewer. "It's very hard to find attractive/supportive thongs. I suffered from plantar fasciitis for over a year. With the correct shoes, my feet recovered. Finding these shoes filled my thong-sandal need."
"These are just as good as Oofos!" shared an excited shopper. "Looks good, fits great!" Another also shared their excitement for the shoes: "I think these offer more support than my Oofos."
"I love my Oofos but these are fantastic, less expensive flip-flops," a happy customer wrote. "They are the perfect height, they look good. I have narrow feet so these fit me better than most sandals and they are really pretty! Planning to get a pair in another color."
"New to the plantar fasciitis issue and these shoes are an excellent solution!" shared a happy customer. "Super cute and so very comfortable. Can stay on my feet for most of the day and my foot stays pretty pain-free. Used to swear by Oofos, but I am a new convert to Aerothotic!"
Some shoppers would like to see more color options.
"These fit my feet perfectly," shared one shopper. "So comfortable. Have 3 pairs. Love them. Just wish they came in white too."
"The arch support is there, comfort plus, and cushioning [are] perfect," wrote another shopper. "I wish they came in more colors."
If you have Amazon Prime, you'll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.)

Millions more to get test results via NHS app, government says
The NHS app will become the default method of communication for millions more patients in England and save the health service £200m over the next three years, the government has said. More test results, screening invitations and appointment reminders will be sent directly to smartphones as part of a £50m investment in the app, in a move away from traditional communication methods such as letters. It is estimated that at least 50 million letters are sent to patients each year. The Department of Health and Social Care said that people who cannot access app messaging - including elderly patients - will receive text messages and then a letter as a last resort, and NHS phone lines would be freed up. The department says 270 million messages will be sent through the NHS app this financial year - an increase of 70 million on the previous year. Push notifications will provide appointment reminders to patients to try to reduce the risk of no attendance - with around eight million missed appointments in elective care missed in 2023/24. Work is also under way to enable users of the app to add appointments to their phone calendars and request help from their local GP surgeries. Figures show that more than 11 million people in the UK log into the NHS app every month, while almost 20 million are opted in to receive healthcare messages from the app. It is hoped the changes will give patients better access to manage their healthcare journey and make informed decisions about their care. NHS app services, which were launched in December 2018, are now used in 87% of hospitals across England. Health Secretary Wes Streeting said further investment in the app would bring the NHS into the digital age so that being a patient was as "convenient as online banking or ordering a takeaway". He added that moving away from paper communication could free up funding for front line services. Rachel Power, chief executive of the Patient's Association, said the upgrade was a "significant step in modernising how patients receive information". The British Medical Association (BMA) has previously warned that a reliance on apps to the NHS to communicate with patients risked alienating patients who don't have access to digital technology. It followed the government's announcement in January that it planned to allow more patients in England to book treatments and appointments through the app. Last month, NHS England announced millions of patients would be able to get "Amazon-style" tracking updates on their prescriptions through the app, to check if their medicines are ready to collect or have been despatched for delivery.
