Patrick Duffy, AKA Bobby from Dallas, spotted pulling pints in Westmeath pub

Two acting stalwarts from the 1980s have been spotted in Ireland as they film a documentary on Irish pubs.
The TV power couple Patrick Duffy (beloved for playing Bobby Ewing on Dallas) and his partner Linda Purl (known for her role in Happy Days as Fonzie's girlfriend Ashley Pfister) were snapped pouring a pint at Don's Bar in Moate, Westmeath, where they were filming a documentary on Irish pubs.
The couple posed for snaps in the bar, and were even seen pouring pints of Guinness out of the tap.
The pictures come just a day after Aran Island Ferries told followers that the pair had been onboard the Galway ferry service to the biggest of the famous Irish islands.
They wrote in a post on social media, alongside a picture of the couple with crew members from the ferry: 'Welcome to Inis Mór Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl!'
Duffy, who was one of the most famous faces in the world during his time on soap opera Dallas, and his partner, Linda Purl, are no strangers to Ireland and have visited many times, with Patrick even being invited as an international guest of honour to St Patrick's Day in Dublin in 2023.
Previously, Patrick, whose grandfather emigrated from Ireland to America in the 1920s, visited Ireland with Linda in the summer of 2022 to trace his own Irish roots in Kilmovee, Co Mayo for a TV show.

Dazzling drone display marks lights up Dublin skyline ahead of Oasis shows

Hundreds have rushed to the streets surrounding Croke Park to catch a glimpse of a drone show marking the imminent arrival of Oasis' two sold-out concerts at the stadium as they continue their all-conquering reunion tour. Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam have returned to Ireland, reigniting their close affinity with the country where both of their parents were born and raised. In what has become the band's very own bat signal, ahead of each set of highly-anticipated performances across England, Wales, Scotland and now Ireland, hundreds of drones assembled over Croke Park to spell out Oasis in the band's trademark logo. Mother Peggy, from Mayo, is rumoured to be attending both Saturday and Sunday's gigs (August 16 and 17), with Noel previously confirming she'd support her sons if she's recovered from a recent knee operation. But, speaking with the Irish Mail, the lead singer for a popular Oasis tribute act claims to have 'a little source there' that suggests she will be in attendance. "I can confirm she's going to be at both [shows]. We have a little source there," Gavin Fleming, who imitates Liam in the band, claims. Drones made the Oasis logo in Edinburgh. (Image: Supplied.) "She's going to be at the Dublin shows, looking out and seeing her two sons back talking together. It was a real family feud, so it's great to see. They're brothers again, most importantly." Saturday night will mark the first time Oasis have played on Irish soil since 2008 as Dublin prepares to reportedly rake in more than €60 million through ticket sales, hospitality, accommodation and transport across this weekend. More than €1 billion is expected to be generated by the returning band across its 41 scheduled dates as around 80,000 mad fer it fans prepare for Croke Park's opening night. Friday's (August 15) drone spectacle replicates what has been spotted in the skies over Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and now Croke Park. Footage uploaded to social media showed dozens posing for pictures outside of the venue with the Oasis moniker up in lights behind them. The dazzling display is understood to be the work of Celestial Drones, world-leading drone art show creators, working alongside Avtrain drone pilots, with the founder of the latter company, Julie Garland, posting to social media about the Dublin sequence. "Lift off for @oasis with @Avtrain_aero, @CelestialDrones and @Spectrum. Kudos to Irish Aviation Authority and AirNav Ireland for pulling out all the stops," she posted, adding, "some days are really hard to call 'work'." Kerry-based musician Liam O'Connor ‘honoured' as he and family get set to play Electric Picnic again

He will perform twice across two different days, sharing the bill with an impressive line-up of Irish and international stars including Hozier, Kings of Leon, Becky Hill, Sam Fender, Chappell Roan, Mundy and Orla Gartland. This will mark O'Connor's sixth appearance at the festival, which is widely recognised as one of Europe's premier music events. He will take to the Salty Dog Stage on Saturday, August 30, and the Hazel Wood Stage on Sunday, August 31. As O'Connor himself puts it: 'It's a terrific honour to be invited to perform twice at such a wonderful event as Electric Picnic. This will be my sixth year and I'm especially excited to announce that my band will include members of my own family, with Saoirse on vocals, concertina and keyboards, Oisín, who plays guitars, keyboards and percussion, and Cillian on drums. "Electric Picnic is a terrific family day out as well as an opportunity to see so many Irish artists hold their own among some of the best artists in the world.' Originally from Newmarket in Cork, O'Connor is no stranger to performing alongside world-class talent. His career highlights include collaborations with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, Boy George, the famed Artane Band, the late Christy Dignam, actress Maureen O'Hara, actor Patrick Bergin, and many more. He has sold out tours across the United States, Scandinavia, Italy and Australia, and played at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Radio City Music Hall in New York, Sydney Opera House, and Wembley Arena. His live audiences have included crowds of 170,000 at All-Ireland Football and Hurling Finals, as well as fans at Thomond Park Stadium for the Munster vs Australia rugby clash.

Noel Gallagher returns to Croke Park, having previously played GAA at the venue

Noel and Liam Gallagher will perform their first of two sold-out shows tonight as Oasis return to Irish shores for the first time since 2008. In total, it'll be Noel's fourth time playing at GAA HQ, having previously supported U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Noel graced the hollowed turf for the first time in 1983 to play a Gaelic Football exhibition. The Gallagher brothers are the sons of Irish parents and have strong roots in the country, so much so that Noel played some GAA growing up. In a resurfaced photo, Gallagher can be seen lining out for Manchester club Oisin's who played Kilmacud Crokes in an exhibition back in 1983. All-Ireland winning captain Richie English was asked to coach the side ahead of the game and told the Irish Independent that he didn't get Noel up singing for everyone. "I would have put out a few flags and got them running up and down. I didn't get Noel to sing a song or anything! They just ran up and down and I did some drills with them, some passing, skill games and a few little things like that. Then, there was a photograph of the team taken in Croke Park and I was asked to sit in." The Gallagher brothers have always spoke affectionately of their strong Irish roots with Dublin a regular stop on either of their respective tours. Some 160,000 are expected to flock to GAA HQ on Saturday and Sunday night for the concerts and concert goers are urged to get in early to avoid crowd congestion and give ample time to get to the stadium via public transport. Oasis will be supported by Richard Ashcroft from The Verve and Cash, formed by John Power after he left The La's. The band's setlist on the tour has included hits such as Cigarettes And Alcohol, Wonderwall, and Don't Look Back In Anger. Concertgoers have also been treated to classics such as Acquiesce, Some Might Say, and Morning Glory, as well as Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, and Champagne Supernova.
