Francesco Scognamiglio buys back eponymous label
Francesco Scognamiglio is again holding a 100% stake in his eponymous label. The Neapolitan designer had sold the brand to the Y Capital Management investment fund in 2021. The buyback deal, sealed after lengthy negotiations, marks the beginning of an ambitious new project that blends fashion, art, and identity.
The label's relaunch will begin from Naples, the designer's home base, where Scognamiglio will celebrate his 50th birthday with an event scheduled later this month at the Royal Palace, which will open to the public for the first time.
More than 200 international guests — including inspirational celebrities, supermodels, and music and film personalities — will attend the celebration, which has been conceived as a manifesto for the designer's new creative phase. Central to this special occasion will be the launch of a new haute couture collection, which will be presented concurrently with Paris Haute Couture Week.
"I am starting afresh from myself, from my city, and from what I love. Naples has taught me beauty, strength, and resilience. Today, I feel the need to tell a broader story, one that combines fashion, art, and culture within a single vision," said Scognamiglio.
Scognamiglio's other upcoming projects will extend beyond fashion, as he is planning to expand into art and interior design. He will focus on creating atmospheres and ambiences inspired by his signature aesthetic and the timeless influence of his home town, Pompei.
