'Best horror movie of all time' with 95% rating is leaving Prime Video
Prime Video subscribers don't have long left to watch the Oscar-winning horror film.
An Oscar-winning film, hailed by horror fans as 'one of the creepiest thrillers ever', is leaving Amazon Prime Video in just a few days.
The Silence of the Lambs, first screened in 1991, will be available for viewing on the streaming service until Sunday, 1st June.
The plot revolves around Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee, who enlists the assistance of psychopathic serial killer Hannibal Lecter to apprehend another rampant murderer.
Directed by Jonathan Demmem, this nineties classic is widely regarded as one of Hollywood's finest psychological thrillers, thanks in no small part to its star-studded cast. It features two-time Academy Award winners Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal, and Jodie Foster as Clarice.
Both actors bagged Oscar awards for their performances, with Hopkins scooping the Best Leading Actor award and Foster clinching the Best Leading Actress accolade at the 1992 ceremony.
The drama's accolades didn't stop there, it also nabbed the coveted Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay awards.
And this chilling film didn't just win over the Academy, it also captivated critics and casual cinema-goers alike. Rotten Tomatoes critics awarded the film an almost flawless 95 percent score, with audiences rating it similarly, reports Surrey Live.
More than three decades after its release, fans still regard the Demmem feature as a horror masterpiece.
"The Silence of the Lambs is one of the creepiest and most intense thrillers ever made," wrote one Rotten Tomatoes user.
One fan lauded the film, remarking: "Will always remain one of the greats. Hopkins and Foster shine properly in character here. Directing is first class.
"Gripping and always shifting between the dark and light, doubt and facts, bizarre and sense, psycho and insane logic. Intelligent and intriguing. Absolute benchmark classic."
"Best horror movie of all time. Jodie Foster at her best and a thriller that checks all the boxes," enthused another.
An exuberant fourth viewer proclaimed: "GREATEST VILLAIN OF ALL TIME!!! The acting, story, characters are so incredible."

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been accused of raping TV reporter Kathi Steininger as she tried to secure an interview The 55-year-old music artist is facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, to which Combs has denied all allegations against him. His trial began last month in New York, with his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and Kid Cudi among those who have taken the stand so far. Austrian present Steininger has claimed in an interview that she was raped by the rapper when she was 19 years old. She organised an on-camera interview with Combs in March 2000 following his show at Vienna's Libro Music Hall, she told PULS 24, claiming that during the chat she was separated from her cameraman and handed a drink by Combs. She alleges the drink was drugged, and that her next memory from the event was being in the back of a tour bus being raped by the musician. 'There was 100 percent something in it,' she told the publication. 'I would never have gone to bed with that man.' Steininger claims she could not move or cry for help, and after the alleged attack, she felt too 'ashamed' to tell anyone about her experience. She also said that the attack left her unable to work and with post-traumatic stress disorder. 'You should hold those who did this to you accountable. Others should be ashamed,' she said. She alleges she was going to take the stand as part of his ongoing trial, but that, as her claims are outside of the statute of limitations and they were not in the US, she could not. The publication reports that a spokeswoman for the Vienna public prosecutor's office said whether there will be investigations against Combs in Austria will be dependent on the outcome of his current trial in the US. It comes after Combs was threatened with being removed from the courtroom yesterday after he 'vigorously nodded' at jurors. Multiple outlets reported that he has been threatened with expulsion from the court for seemingly attempting to 'interact' with jurors. Speaking to Comb's attorney, the judge Subramanian said in court: 'Mr Agnifilo, your client was looking at jurors and nodding vigorously. 'This can't continue, or I will give a limiting instruction you won't like, or other measures, including barring your client from the courtroom. Do you understand?' More Trending Defence attorney Marc Agnifilo told the judge that it would not happen again. The judge then added: 'There should be no efforts whatsoever to have an interaction with this jury.' The film, an adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical of the same name, will be released in cinemas on October 10 and has already been met with rave reviews. The On The Floor star, 55, will be starring as Ingrid Luna, a diva actress made up by gay hairdresser Luis Molina (Tonatiuh) while he's enduring an eight-year jail sentence in Argentina. Attempting to escape the horror of prison, he dreams up a string of movies starring the imaginary actress, including one where she plays a spider woman who kills her lovers with a kiss. When he is joined in his cell by Marxist Valentin Arregui Paz (Diego Luna), his time behind bars is transformed as they forge an unlikely bond. The first teaser for the movie, directed by Bill Condon, was shared this week, showing the singer belting out Where You Are while switching between a series of fabulous costumes – all through the imagination of Luis. Fans were mesmerized over the footage and flocked to social media to rave about JLo's efforts, with many tipping her to win big during awards season.
