‘Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2' Is Now Out And Reviewing Well

Forbes6 days ago
The sequel to the first Hinokami Chronicles is now finally out and is reviewing surprisingly well.
While the first Hinokami Chronicles certainly looked lovely and very accurate to the anime, it didn't review all that well.
CyberConnect2 is a solid developer when it comes to manga and anime game adaptations, with some of their cel-shading work being some of the best in the business; however, their gameplay can leave something to be desired on some of their games.
No doubt, as Demon Slayer is hugely popular across the world, there was a lot of pressure on the first Hinokami Chronicles game, and it didn't quite land as it should have done, with critics responding in quite a mixed way.
However, for this new game, it seems that CyberConnect2 managed to make some decent progress this time around.
The main improvements seem to be improved combat and just a bigger and better game, although this tends to be the way with sequels.
In that, laying the groundwork for a big anime game like this, with complex combat, is a big ask for the first game in the series. That's why sequels, with lots of asset reuse, can actually focus on fixing and polishing the core game further.

This was equally true for FromSoftware's original Another Century's Episode games on the PlayStation 2. The first game was okay, but it was the following sequel and 'final' releases that really shone (obvious hint, it wasn't the 'final' game in the series).
In the same way, it seems that CyberConnect2 has seemingly built upon the first game's merits and expanded on them further, and the critics seem much happier as a result.
Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is now available on Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, via Steam.

Forget the Steam Deck, this 12.5-inch handheld can play games at 4K 100FPS

TL;DR A modder has created a handheld gaming PC with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. The handheld's display is 12.5 inches with a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It's capable of running God of War (2016) in 4K resolution at 100FPS. Handheld gaming PCs are getting more powerful all the time. However, they still can't replace the level of performance you get from a full-on gaming laptop. Or can they? One modder has taken that idea and put it to the test. A Bilibili creator who goes by Qingchen DIY has built a giant 12.5-inch handheld gaming PC (h/t El Chapuzas Informatico). But it's not the size that's impressive, it's the fact that the modder fitted it with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. Along with that high-end GPU, there's also a 24-core Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU. The system is also equipped with a 12.5-inch IPS touch display with a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of storage. It's safe to say that the power behind this device easily surpasses the top names in the market, like Valve's Steam Deck and ASUS' ROG Ally X. You could even say this system is more of a laptop that was simply converted into a handheld. But what can this beast of a handheld actually do? In the video, the modder shows the device running Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K resolution at 60FPS. That's not bad considering that other handhelds tend to struggle running the title at just 1080p, with upscaling technologies helping out. What's even more impressive is that at one point, the modder shows the device running God of War (2016) in 4K at above 100FPS. As you can imagine, this is likely a pretty power-hungry device. It appears this device relies on an external power source. However, it does also have a built-in 50Wh battery. While it would be fun to give this system a try, we'll probably stick with our Steam Deck. A 12.5-inch handheld would be a bit unwieldy for most hands. Follow

Channing Tatum and Rebecca Wang Join DEMON SLAYER: INFINITY CASTLE English Dub Cast — GeekTyrant

Fans of Demon Slayer are getting a major surprise for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle film as Channing Tatum and Rebecca Wang have officially joined the English dub voice cast. They'll be joining the original English dub lineup from the anime series, with Zach Aguilar returning as Tanjiro Kamado, Abby Trott as Nezuko Kamado, Aleks Le as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Bryce Papenbrook as Inosuke Hashibira, Johnny Yong Bosch as Giyu Tomioka, and Erika Harlacher as Shinobu Kocho. Tatum, known for Roofman , will voice Keizo, while Wang will take on the role of Koyuki. 'We are thrilled to welcome back the beloved English voice cast reprising their roles for Infinity Castle ,' said Mitchel Berger, executive VP of global commerce. 'Their iconic voices have greatly contributed to the admiration of the characters and popularity of the franchise. And, we are excited to welcome Channing Tatum, who discovered his love of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and anime through watching the series with his daughter, along with Rebecca Wang as the English voices of Keizo and Koyuki.' Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is set to hit theaters in the United States and Canada on September 12, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. This marks the first feature film in a three-part cinematic trilogy that will adapt the epic final battle of the series from animation studio Ufotable. For those who have followed Tanjiro Kamado's journey from the beginning, the stakes couldn't be higher. The story began when Tanjiro's family was slaughtered by a demon, leaving his sister Nezuko transformed into one herself. Determined to save her, Tanjiro joined the Demon Slayer Corps, forging bonds with Zenitsu and Inosuke while battling demons alongside the elite Hashira. His path has led him through unforgettable arcs, from fighting alongside Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, to teaming with Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in the Entertainment District, and facing deadly foes alongside Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, Infinity Castle promises to deliver one of the most intense and visually stunning chapters of the franchise yet.

There's A New ‘KPop Demon Hunters' Song You Haven't Heard

Golden by HUNTR/X from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters just hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a first for any KPop group. Some have said that this doesn't 'count' because the group is fictional, but there are obviously very real voices behind those characters. And one of them just released a new KPop Demon Hunters song. Kind of. Rei Ami is an American singer, rapper and voice actress originally from South Korea, and she is the singing voice of the HUNTR/X rapper Zoey in the film, as each character had both a speaking voice actor (in Zoey's case, Ji-young Yoo) and a singing voice for their tracks. On social media, Rei Ami responded to a request from a fan about an apparently teased diss track from Zoey targeting the Saja Boys, wondering if she could do a full version. And she did. The track, which doesn't have an official name, was written by Rei Ami, Reibes and Hunters. The beat is BMTJ via YouTube. She says it was compiled via Instagram and Tik Tok Live over the course of two days. Here it is: The track is about 1:20, which is obviously shorter than most of the other songs from HUNTR/X and the rest on the official soundtrack, but despite its low-key production, easily sounds like something that could have shown up in the film. KPop Demon Hunters continues to break record after record, arguably its biggest being yesterday, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time for a Kpop group with the track Golden. But besides that? While there are rumblings behind the scenes about what Netflix has planned next for KPop Demon Hunters, like a trilogy of films and maybe even a live-action remake and a stage show, nothing official has been announced yet (Update: They've just announced a sing-along theater event). The movie is such a huge hit it is probably hard to process and figure out next steps, given that they've clearly given birth to an enormous franchise suddenly out of nowhere. But I expect we're about to hear the next stage of HUNTR/X and the Demon Hunters soon enough. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
